- If there's one thing I know, it's that soloing is a sacred rite for guitarists. The ability to melt faces with searing licks is a dark art, passed down from the devil himself. The question is, which leads stand out above the rest? Who can wield their axe on level 666? In this video I'll count down the top 5 guitar solos of all time. If you disagree with my list, we can never be friends muhahaha!!

I love Crazy Train but I think Randy's best solo was on Revelation (Mother Earth), highly underrated track that rarely gets mentioned.
In my opinion is Mr Crowley but yes, Revelation is super underrated
Finally someone who agrees with me
Randy was the best.
I agree
My favorite is goodbye to romance, pretty underrated too
You missed the solo from Winter Madness by Wintersun, absolutely incredible 💯🤘
Best metal solo ever is Altitudes by Jason Becker, not only because of the sweeping, rather because of the tasty melodies after the runs and especially that clean part before the sweeping section
Nah
Repeated sweeps is so boring though and the clean part has a mediocre tone imo. The parts before the clean parts are better
@@javi5810 The sweeping part is like 40s of 5min so it doesn't get really boring
Then after that comes crazy runs which can get boring but the melodic part after is phenomenal
1. Tornado of Souls, 2. Mr. Crowley, 3. Painkiller, 4. Kissing the Shadows, and 5. Domination
Lord dime could have all 5 top,
Floods is up there, walk.
Eruption Eddie/Van Halen
Get the Funk Out Nuno/Extreme
Mr Crowley Randy/Ozzy
Tornado of Souls Marty/Megadeth
Perpetual Burn Jason Becker
Killer solos , thank u for lesson shred master , ride the lightning and dystopia are also great
John Sykes on Whitesnakes Cyn in The Rain is amazing as well....
Pantera 10's.. Greatest solo of all time.
That lisp joke got me lmao
Idk, but the guitar solo for Them Bones is perfect.
Cool work! How do you get the string sound from your guitar? I know it's probably a pedal or rack or computer program. I have a similar effect from my Boss DD but not like yours.
1. Mr crowley 2. Tornado of souls 3. Fermented offal discharge 4. Altitudes 5. Rise
Nice video Shred! FYI you have a weird cut at the end when talking about Tornado of Souls
Thanks for pointing that out. I decided to cut a deeper analysis of the chord progression but accidentally left the first part!

Megadeth are shithouse
"WWBD".... I like that. I'm taking that and that's, that. Later

Goodbye to romance- ozzy osbourne
Venus isle- Eric Johnson
1. Yngwie - Krakatau
2. Michael Schenker - On And On
3. George Lynch - Heaven Sent
4. Tony Iommi - Lonely Is The Word
5. Robin Trower - Too Rolling Stoned
1)Stairway to heaven(first one I learnt)
2)Best of times(best balance of emotion and technique by DT)
3)Goodbye to romance(arguably Mr crowly is better but this one hits different)
4)Gates of Babylon (really underrated)

Not in any particular order
1. Megadeth - Tornado of Souls
2. Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
3. Ozzy - Perry Mason
4. Savatage - Edge of Thorns

Dimebags The Sleep solo def deserves a spot on the list.
Floods
how to join the discord community?
My list changes a lot but currently in no particular order:
Summers Rain - Criss Oliva
Tarot Woman - Blackmore
Unchain the Night - Lynch
Soldier Without Faith - Yngwie
Lost in a City - Vandenberg
1. Dry county by Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora's finest moment and one of the greatest solos ever.
2. Highway Star Deep Purple
3. Futureal Iron maiden, a great solo from Dave
4. You don't fool me Queen. One of Brian's greatest solos
5. Two's up AC/DC, a rare moment of Angus double tapping
If you don't know or if you haven't listened to "Saturation Point", by Marty Friedman, from his album "Dragon's Kiss", It makes Tornado of souls like off the cuff wankery. Marty was fucking phenominal.
Painkiller is a godlike tier. The others are worthy to fill the podium.
For the closing performance of the ceremony, I put "December Flower" from In Flames. Because "The Czar/Martyr" from Mastodon played in my mind during the awards.
Solid TOP, though.
Glad to see Painkiller made your top 3. Those wails? I get chills. Every. Single. Time.
Crazy Train is just one of those solos that always makes you smile.
But I think we can all agree that Free Bird is really the GOAT 😂
I think Pantera's "Domination" deserves a Top 5 slot. Dime had the technique, and that solo is just...so melty.
my favourite solo is the one at the end of Five Magics by Megadeth, i don't see anyone ever talk about it or even Five Magics itself
Check out Randy version of children of the grave solo from the hammer smith Odeon September 1980. It’s on yt
ill argue dimebag would have been the greatest shredder if he chose to solo like that. Cowboys from hell, Domination are prime examples of shreddiness as well as classical playing... then you have solos like the sleep and medicine man which are pure sheddin.
Wankery
@@VladimirVladimirovich1952
You miss spelt mastery
Alison Hell, Big Bad Moon, Shortest Straw, Ice 9, Practice what you preach.
As I am by Dream Theater top 10 best solos ever
Now your ships are burned solos - everything said.
Why all the devil talk?
Angus did it first way before van helen
Isn't it funny how evh wrote all five of those 😃😝🤘
"Tap that axe" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love your content but I don't agree with any of these selections other than possibly tornado of souls. To keep it short, the solo for Mr. Crowley is Randy Rhoad's greatest. Your other selections don't even factor into any list I would make.
Sea of Lies - Symphony X
I guess Randy would be strongly triggered as you claimed "Crazy Train" tapping as taken from "Eruption" with little differences, even though it's true.
And what about "Fermented Offal Discharge"? Have you ever heard of that? It's incredible and crazy as hell, I get to this music only because this solo is so incredible.
Also Dimebag's solos, like "Floods" would easily outstand "One" solo. Isn't the actual point of this video not to show actual greatest solos but to proove some of best solos are taking from Van Halen?
From those solos you picked "Painkiller" is my favourite
Lord freidman is the goat , dave mustain was fighting 😳 metalljca and marty 😳
Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Any guitar solo by Wintersun.
there is that nickelback solo...
First
1 Painkiller - Death
2 As I Lay Dying - Paralels
3 Obscura - Universe Momentum
4 NeObliviscaris -Misericorde part2
5 Tornado of souls
Eruption is by far the most influential electric guitar solo ever.
Ha Ha Ha Ha
Jeff Loomis has left the chat…..
😂
All the basic boring boomer solos thats regurgitated by guitar players of all ages. Id argue Rocky Georges solos are perfect. Improvisation, techniqe and extended techniques all paints part of his tool brush the guitar on the aural canvas of suicidal tendencies. He legitimately paints thoughts and emotions with every note he plays
No solo by Kirk Hammet deserves to be on a best solos list.
First. And eruption is plain trash
The dude that can't play guitar.
🤡🤡🤡
That may be, but it started the whole thing.
The absolute best is Taj Farrant,I have watched and heard them all ,Hands down Taj is the best that has ever picked up a guitar and he’s just 14, And Billy Strings with the Acoustic is absolutely the best. I love Joe Bonamassa and Ted but Taj rules.
