What’s really sad is seeing grown men who can’t remember their own history because of the head trauma they received, I get it’s a gladiator sport but it’s also just a game, not worthy of your life because people want big hits. Just ask Aaron Hernandez.

Damar Hamlin has a reputation of being a dirty player. The Bengals and Tee Higgins were aware of this it seems. That’s why Tee Higgins went in hard on Damar Hamlin. Damar Hamlin’s past almost caused him his life based off this context

I'm so sick of seeing defenses penalized for helmet contact when offensive players lower their heads every time, especially running backs who spear all the time. Same goes for defenseless receiver, the QB needs to quit sacrificing their recievers by throwing it to where the defense can level them right when the ball gets there. As a reciever you trust your QB to not lead you to danger which is why they don't protect themselves 99% of the time.
Well you're passing the blame. The entire culture of the game is wrong. The insanity ends with reduced padding and no helmets. Now, do you want to tackle and block properly or go to the hospital? Your call. Better sport, smarter and tougher athletes. Gladiator gear isn't safe, it enables destruction.

The problem is that they are not trying to tackle. You wrap your arms around when tackling. These guys are launching and using the helmet and shoulder to injure.

These hits back in the 80's and earlier were normal. Most of these are clean and no flag is needed. We've become weak in every sport.

Some of these penalties should not have been penalties in my opinion. The offensive players often drop their heads and lead with their helmets, initiating the helmet to helmet contact. If that action is a penalty for a defensive player for safety reasons, then the same should apply to an offensive player.

Exactly. Rule should be that it’s only a penalty if the defensive player initiates helmet contact on a defenseless player (like blind side helmet charge) not when it’s 2 players running at each other. Offensive guys put the head down knowing they’ll likely get a flag if hit

Tbh I’m glad they’re throwing more flags. I know it takes away from the big hits, but seeing these guys get their heads smashed in slow motion is so hard to watch. Football can stay physical but they need to stop leading with their head.

If I'm a Defensive Coordinator in the league I'd tell my guys don't even worry about those flags. You light they ass up if they touch the ball. That 15 yd penalty is less than this WR's nerves when he thinks about running these routes up the middle again. You lay that wood on that man(pause) he's gonna think twice about catching that ball again.

So tired of the penalties, it's the QB's job not to throw his receiver into danger. This is why all these records are being broken, the whole field is wide open now.

@Christian Nevins I apologise for my ignorance. I am English and I compare rugby with this lovely sport. The only difference is that rugby boys don't have to wear these huge helmets. If he wasn't wearing it, the tackle appeared clean. That's my ignorance. Gotta take into account the added gear. Quite hard at 18 mph though don't you think?

But that’s the way they call it because of concussion protocols and CTE and stuff. My opinion is that is an accepted risk for making millions in your 20’s playing a collision sport, but it’s still against the rules
