Came here after tonight's Islam Makhachev's victory against Charles Do Bronx Oliveira in UFC 280... I didn't knew this could choke the opponent. I guess the shoulder part of the opponent's arm ends up choking himself more than your own arm (on the other neck's side). Can this be transitioned to a shoulder breaking move? How would it be called?
@@dariosebastian117 seated kata gatame is literally the same as anaconda just diff grips. finishing mechanic is the exact same tho. but a standard anaconda is also not done from north south. Itd be front headlock.
@@merziinarie6266 No, no, sorry for the tone. I know it's a demonstration and it's beautiful video from every angle. I appreciate this form of knowledge. I'm curious of when and where does the technique happen. Is it more a choke or pressure in the face? What, as the offensive person, should be focusing on?
Perfect demonstration and the multiple angles are so useful to see how he’s basing with his legs! Thanks so much for posting 😁
Fenomenal
My prefer tech in floor...is not just a pin is a choke at the same time..
I think eren watched this video before he fought reiner
Was looking for this comment😂😂
Eu amo judô
Interesting to note that his hand grip has open thumbs. I wonder if there will be a difference using a gable grip?
Solid finish option long range

I mean it's not an air choke it's a blood choke
@@za.monolit very interesting point!
yeah this works just like a normal sankaku (triangle choke) but with your arms. And like other person say, its a blood choke.
🙏
Both a pin and submission
Nice 👍
I believe you must not only apply pressure with your arms but also with your own neck against his...
Oos✨️🙌✨️
The 1 dislike was on the submission end of this pin
Perfect my exam is today!!!
keep going !

Is this called Anaconda in 10th planet?
not at all, kata-gatame is an Arm triangle choke in a “standar” position. And anaconda is in a “north-south” position
they are the same but with different positions

No tap? Where is the pressure happening?
Come on, man.
Just a demostration.

@@rodrigotellom It's a choke but should adjust some detail.
Can be done from standing.
But mostly, in Kesa-Gatame.
@@merziinarie6266 Is my arm what's doing the choke or is it his arm (like in a triangle) what's doing the choke?
@@rodrigotellom It's arm triangle choke.
Doing like Sankaku-Jime (Triangle Choke) but change from legs to arms
