Where you bumping the bottom at all with the crankbait or hovering a few feet below the surface of the water? Always nice to see different lures featured in your channel.
nah, i am trying to get low as possible without hitting the grass or muck. i do try to bounce off some of the trees stumps and stuff. used to be a forest there. I vary my speed not to only create a disruption in the swimming cadence, but also to force it to rise faster as it's a small lure. too fast tho, would make it spiral out, but not as bad and easily as some other cranks. I also used thicker line to create a drag, not only to reduce cut offs from the pickerels. The water is so stained from cedar trees that they don't even see the line. hell i don't see my lure after it goes below 1 feet LOL. I swam in some cedar lakes before.. it's so scary down there...
I lost my SR-griffon in a river the other day. 😢

Love the Sunline Super Tornado Fluorocarbon Leader , its stiff and maybe expensive but a great fluorocarbon leader for hardbaits
Ygk is also good but dont have many experience with that brand , momoi is also super but not for a baitcaster , for a spinning reel great but for a baitcaster it likes to fluff up
But there are many other good brands , all are good and some have there specialities , i did just got stuck with sunline hahaha

I liked using the Griffin SR-X but I changed the back hook to a single (spoon hook). Bait Finesse Empire had the right ones.

I haven’t noticed a difference in the hookup ratio. I had jumping smallmouth stay pinned. It is a lot easier to remove when they inhale the bait.
Also what is the dehooker you are using

Have you tried the BF70 with the Roro spool yet? Also, do you have any idea what size bearings it uses?
No I have not. But it should be same as what I portrayed with the Salamandura air tw. You can reference those videos.
What kind of braid do you use
Varivas 4 is my go to. 0.6 and 0.8 for my bfs application. 1 gou and up for power finesse
How well does this rod do with 1/32 or 1/16 jigs like the mule fishing jigs

im sure it can do really well since it loads up. with the right reel and line combo, i bet i should be able to do a 1/32nd jig and a small plastic. that should be around 1-1.5grams or so you would say for the lure you are trying to throw?

Welcome aboard! Which rod did u end up getting? Tactical bassin are with em now and they got new rods.
I was not tyring to hit bottom. So i cranked harder plus I use thicker line to prevent it. The slow crank is how it dives super deep. But I do try to deflect off some of the branches or get closer to the emerging grass
