In my country, high school is considered the third level of education. Each year is divided into two separate semesters, and students have long summer and short winter vacations. Most high schools offer the same or similar classes, typically 8 or 9 in number. I recall that these classes were quite challenging. To gain admission to university, students are required to achieve a good score by the end of high school.

In my country, high school education system is so hard and required a lot of work like 7-10 hours. We need to get into YKS which is one of the most difficult university entrance exam.

Korea structure of education is different with US. Korea elementary school include from 1st grade to 6th grade. it's same, however, Korea middle school include from 7th to 9th, and Korean call 'middle school 1st grade student(중학교 1학년)' for a middle school 7th grade student. Korea high school include from 10th to 12th.
Korea semester is difficult with US semester. 1st semester start at March and finish at July. 2rd semester include 9th to 12th. there are two semester and two vacation.
In high school, student have to study hard. If you want to go good university in Seoul, You have to study well, and You have to good grade. Korean call 'neasin(내신)' . it is grade of school.
