Add red to your green mixes to make them more natural 🎉 thank you for the review. I'm getting into inktense again and just ordered my 24 set. I bought six pencils and I am off and running for Inktober 🎉 I'm a watercolorist so I can go on as usual ❤❤❤
I love my set. I use it because if you heat dry it ( I use a hair dryer), it becomes almost translucent, showing the layers of pigment beneath. I will be looking out for the bigger set definitely
They're my favorite 'watercolor' but they don't act like watercolors at all. They layer, not blend. They're permanent when dry. They're opaque or transparent depending on how much water is added. And highly, highly pigmented. But they do not work like watercolors AT ALL.

Honestly, this comment made me interested in trying them - they don't interested me as a watercolor, I have plenty that I love, but a new (to me) water based art medium? THAT is interesting😅 I've seen them used on fabric and stuff too, I think they could be really fun to play with if I don't go in expecting them to be a watercolor set...
I have painted a bit more with them and it is getting better so they definitely have potential 😊
I appreciated seeing your review and use of these paints. I like the look of the plastic palette that the paints came in, that mixing space looks amazing, but I don’t think I’d want the learning curve to use that type of paint. I have my favourite paint brands and enjoy knowing how they work. I might have purchased these by mistake thinking they would behave like watercolour paints, so I’m glad I watched your video… I don’t think they are for me 😊.

I have this set too and I just love it! I’m not an artist and I haven’t been using great watercolors (only cheap ones). I love Inktense pencils and have used them for years. I think maybe this set is not so nice for you because you have used to use different kinds of watercolors. I really enjoy painting with this kit. I also made layers and it worked out for me. I picked this set up for a class a couple of years ago not realizing what the Inktense product line was (I only used them for 1 project as watercolor wasn't my thing.) More recently, I started to actually learn watercolor and picked up a set of pricey tubes (I'm an experienced oil / acrylic painter already.) I couldn't quite figure out why the set from a top brand didn't live up to my little Derwent travel set. I now have a set of Inktense pencils on the way.

I think the water brush was a missed opportunity - if they're going to have one that separates in two parts like that, they should maximize the handle so it's as long as the compartment and can hold a lot more water.

Wet paper first, then apply the Inktense, dry, this then becomes permanent You can layer the paint …. Essentially this media is an ink pigment
Thank you for your comment! Maybe I didn’t let it dry long enough because it felt like I could still lift a little bit though it was definitely not as easy as with watercolors
