  • 1960s Memorial Day parade on Brookline Boulevard in South Hills of Pittsburgh PA. You can see in background Party Cake Bakery, Kriehbel Bakery, Premier Photo, Brookline Board of Trade, Majorettes, South Hills School of Dance students. Brookline is in the south hills area of Pittsburgh. This was original 8mm home movie.
    Streetcar tracks visible on Brookline Boulevard as streetcars were still in use then. Original 8mm movies taken by John (Jack) Frank of Brookline.

    I love this. I grew up in the South Hills, (Beechview) and often shopped on Brookline Boulevard. (Dormont and Brookline were the two furthest places that my mom would drive her Studebaker. LOL. As a teenager in the 70s I dated a girl from Brookline, her mom worked at Premier photo. Over the years I lived up and down the east coast, returned to the South Hills of Pittsburgh when I retired in 2010. These days my wife and I live in Dormont. Pittsburgh is the friendliest city that I've lived in. Thank you for posting this.
