    I definitely recommend watching the clone wars series. I just finished watching them myself and it gives so much extra depth to the characters especially Anakin. It shows reasons why Anakin lost more and more faith in the jedi eventually turning to the dark side. Before I watched the clone wars I didn't really like Anakin but after watching it, he isn't my favourite (he is up there) he is 100% the best written character ever. The first 2 season are a bit of a struggle to get through, but after season 3 it just gets exponentially better, with season 6 & 7 being one of the greatest star wars content there is.

      True, I saw the movie and thought it was a bit random for Anakin to turn to the dark side. He only had a bad dream and he turns. The Clone Wars shows many things why Anakin already lost faith in the Jedi, especially the council, like Obi-wan's 'death', Ahsoka being expelled from the order, and denying him the rank of master.

      @@gertboer3458it makes perfect sense😂 We’ve seen his fear since episode one, seen it build up etc. Yes the clone wars adds to it, but in no way is it critical for understanding his fall. If so you’re either young or really dense.

      @@christianlarssen9046 I don't agree with you here. Yes we saw his fear in episode 1, 2 & 3 and the only thing he really lost in the movies was his mom, and now he was scared of losing Padme. I know he is an emotional Jedi but it's not really something for a Jedi to turn to the darkside for losing 1 & potentially 2 people, while youve been trained for like 15 years. Yes we see his fear build up in the movie but I think The Clone Wars adds a lot more depth and it makes much more sense in my opinion.

    I love that you comment on that part with his mom. Most people are like “oh man, why would you give in to the dark side?” Bro, if my mom was captured, tortured and raped to death over the course of a month, you best believe I would go on a murder spree. And on top of that, he actually has the power to kill them all. You can’t say you wouldn’t. And you can see where the path to becoming Vader starts: with human attachments. That’s how you corrupt even the very best of us.

    • @tud21
      @tud21 7 месяцев назад +1

      yeah on a human level its understandable but ani is a jedi. A jedi shouldnt form attatchments nor should he act on his emotions. Ofcourse its hard to not feel angry and hate when your mom dies but as a jedi you need to let these feelings go otherwise you give in to the dark side.

      @jbeanz3039 4 месяца назад

      @@tud21 thats the whole flaw with jedi my guy. i don't know if you've realized this but jedi are not droids. they have a saying or some shit that goes "there is no emotion, there is only peace" - which is stupid as fuck imo because every sentient being will have emotions. it's how they function, built into their brain or whatever equivalent for supposed alien species. despite this, the jedi don't teach how to deal with these emotions, they just tell you to, as you said, "let these feelings go otherwise you give into the dark side."
      like yeah bro, in an IDEAL world, someone whose mother was just tortured and/or raped to death can let go of these feelings, but it's not realistic whatsoever. moreover, the jedi avoid this by taking the children when young so they don't develop attachments in the first place, but what about after? all the masters who went dark because their apprentice was killed/taken and vice versa? they just teach avoidance and that shit baffles my fucking mind.

    So, about Yoda's fight, the reason he was able to fight like that was a combination of Ataru (Form IV) a lightsaber style known for its acrobatic movements and swift strikes and a steady use of the Force to enhance his abilities and improve his battle prowess. He can't move like that all the time, he has to actively use the Force to fight like that. He is 800+ years old after all, ergo why he walks around with a cane 90% of the time.

    Anakin blames Obi because Obi keeps reminding him of his status as "padawan learner". Telling Anakin over and over that his senses arent attuned enough for this or that, despite Anakin having proved himself. One example is when they're on the small ship with Padmé, the one she falls off onto the desert below. After Anakin's call of where the ship should fire on the enemy structure, successfully taking it down, Obi-Wan compliments Anakin, but at the end of his sentence adds something like "my young padawan". Firstly you see Anakin smile in response to the praise of Obi, but as Kenobi adds the ending of his sentence Anakin quickly changes the smile into a clearly disapproving frown. It's a detail that I didnt see for the first 15 years as a fan of the movie... Lol.
    Obi-Wan keeps reminding Anakin of his subordinant status as a padawan, a lower, something that doesnt sit well with an ex-slave. Also what Anakin says about saving his mom is true if he had listened to his own abilities and not to his superiors. The loss of his mother in this way therefor will cause Anakin to distrust anyone else that give him advice that dont correspond with his own personal opinion on something. That's why he got seduced by Sidius because Sidius was speaking only what Anakin wanted to hear, while the Jedi continued to distrust him no matter how well Anakin performed as a Jedi himself. If they recognized his deeds the next moment they would still question or disagree with him as if what he'd previously achieved meant nothing. Had the Jedi council not been made by a bunch of autists with 0 knowledge in basic psychology they would have realized a thing or two and done something about their own stupid behavior. Then again the Jedi were just as arrogant as they accused Anakin of being, they felt superior and untouchable and refused to bend or change things that could have been truly helpful to their cause (or the cause they claimed to have). Funnily enough you could say that Sidius was the least arrogant, he was simply just smarter than them all and more foreseeing while the Jedi had access to a tremendous force user in Anakin and basically threw him into the clutches of the dark side by being stupid rule following spergs.

    Yo, Dom. Resident Star Wars nerd here, a comment about what you said regarding his mother:
    If you remember in the Phantom Menace the council initially decided against training Anakin as a Padawan because he was too old. They mention that they can sense his fear of losing his Mother and how fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate etc etc. Kids who are force sensitive are taken from their families so young that they only have a sliver of memories of them - therefore they don't really have a connection to them, therefore can't fear their loss. They're trained immediately to not love how we experience love usually, and this is what opens up his feelings towards Padme, because he already knows love like someone regular, he feels it again, whereas most Jedi shut that shit down. (Not always though) So when you say we all have a little dark side in us, you're right, and that's why love isn't really allowed for them... to bypass that feeling and temptation altogether.

    • @upsidedownpyramid7617
      @upsidedownpyramid7617 5 месяцев назад

      That's right, the jedi were traditionally monastic and gave up their attachments and lives to attune themselves with the force. Of course everyone has emotions, and (most) jedi were not total sociopaths, they believed in good, in protecting people and doing what's right, but they knew all to well that they were all human (not literally, but all thinking and feeling people) and that forming bonds and attachment would lead to that fear of loss and negative emotions. Being born force sensitive was a gift and a curse, while the use of the dark side doesn't always make someone evil, it requires strong emotion, instead of letting the force guide you as the light does, submitting to the greater will, dark side users twist the force to serve themselves alone. Using the force with any sort of strong emotion IS the dark side, and the deeper you go down that rabbit hole, the more you crave power. The more you justify evil deeds. The more you are figuratively, and sometimes literally disfigured by the power you possess (like what happened to Palpatine)

      Dooku was incredibly powerful and skillful. He was considered the most powerful Jedi in the Order aside from Yoda before he even became a Sith. His skill with the saber was unmatched, so much so he can duel on even footing with Yoda or Sidious who are marginally more powerful in the Force. In a canon duel in a comic, Dooku even defeats Yoda in a duel.

    39:00 if you end up watching the clone wars and further you will see the clones absolutely ARE people. The Mandalorian Jango Fett who was killed by Mace Windu here had his DNA used to create an army of perfect soldiers, the clone wars cartoon does leaps and bounds to humanize them, they all may look similar and be monsters on the battlefield but they all have their own individual personalities. The main issue comes into play with the fact that they had been fitted with an inhibitor chip, so when Order 66 is executed by Darth Sidious, only a few clones were able to resist/remove the chip, the majority of the army turned on the jedi, who had come to be their generals and in many cases, close friends throughout the war. Plo Koon (The alien with the face mask) had to be one of the most tragic deaths at the hands of the clones, as its established very on in the animated series that like Anakin, Obi Wan, etc, he cared VERY deeply for the troops under his command and would not leave anyone behind. Some Jedi did treat them like they were just droids born to fight, but not all of them.

    Sir Christopher Lee, who played Count Dooku also played Saruman in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. There are similarties between Dooku and Saurman: both are wizard or wizard-like (Jedi could be consindered wizards by regular people), both were once good and where turned by evil and serves the main antogonsit (Palpatine/Sidious and Sauron), both tries to overthrow their master (at least Saruman attempts in the books) and both fails and gets killed. As another reference to Saruman in The Revenge of the Sith, Dooku's quarters on The Invisible Hand is called The Wizard's Tower.

    The lightening attack Dooku was using is called Force lightning... it's mostly used by Sith, because you tap into the dark side to use it. The Emperor was using it as well, but had more juice in it than Dooku here...
    The Clone War series covers the story between Episode 2 and the upcoming Episode 3
    The clones were gradually replaced with normal people/soldiers after the Clone Wars. I think because the cloning facility had been attacked during the Clone Wars.
    That's also probably why the Stormtroopers now are laughed at by the audience because they mostly miss when shooting in contrast to the clones...

    Force Lightning is a Dark Side Power and is frowned upon by the Jedi as it draws upon unnatural forces and bad feelings. Yoda needs his stick to walk, when he is fighting he draws upon the Force to make him faster, this takes some of his power that he has to regain when not fighting that is why he goes back to his stick after the fight

    I really hope people are recommending the Clone Wars 2D microseries (2003-2005) that was a completely essential bridge between Ep II and III when it came out (between Ep II and III).
    I really really hope he doesn't get confused and watch the 7 seasons 3D series "The Clone Wars" (2008) that will make him wait for ages for Ep III and diverts into its own story, cause that would honestly be very stupid and counterproductive in both regards.
    Also, there are some characters and notions from Ep III AND the 3D series that are INTRODUCED in the 2D micro-series.
    Also, 2D microseries is just 2 hours in total, like a movie, so is like Episode 2.5 in all senses.
    The 3D series is a footnote for the 6 movies Saga and is best understood after Ep III (that's why it came out after Ep III).

    24:13 - You're right bro, for sure. However, that's why kids are usually taken as apprentices when they are extremely young, to stop them forming attachments. The Jedi constantly say that having attachments, emotional attachments like those you have to your mother, can be exploited and turn someone to the Dark Side, as we saw here. If Anakin had no attachments to his mother, for example if he was taken as a baby, he would not have fallen to the dark side when his mother died before him - because he wouldn't have spent the first six years of his life being nurtured and loved by her. If you remember the first movie, the Jedi council tried to block Obi-Wan from training Anakin, and their reason was because he was too old to begin training (he had already formed attachments). Given that we know what happens next, they were correct.
    That being said, the only reason they ended up allowing Obi-wan to do so was because he kind of forced their hand, and said he'd leave the Jedi order if they refused to allow the boy to be trained - he did this because it was Qui Gon's last wish, and he wanted to fulfil it for his master. Qui Gon firmly believed that Anakin was the Chosen One, the one prophesied to bring balance to the force (as he did, in Return of the Jedi), and as such Qui Gon was going to train Anakin himself, but he fell in combat and Obi-wan was forced to take up the mantle of teacher instead.
    This is also the reason he ended up falling in love with Padme. He was not conditioned from the right age to have the meditative, monk-like Jedi mindset that would've prevented him from forming bonds with, particularly, women - and, as we know, this was the ultimate catalyst that transformed him into Darth Vader. Palpatine manipulated his dreams, and so Anakin effectively spent his every waking hour worrying about Padme dying in childbirth. He would do anything to stop that, as any husband would, and this is what made him form the pact with Palpatine to become his apprentice, as long as Palpatine taught him how to save Padme. But as we then see, Palpatine had been manipulating him the whole time, and Padme's death (sort of at the hands of Anakin) sent Anakin over the edge. He became totally, utterly submerged in the Dark Side of the force: filled with rage, hate, and the desire to commit atrocity on a galactic scale, and subsequently transformed from Anakin Skywalker into the scourge of the galaxy, the most powerful and feared man alive, Darth Vader.

It was made by the same guy who made Samurai Jack if you're familiar. When put together it's about the length of one movie so it's not a massive pace breaker unlike 2008s "The Clone Wars" with its 50+ hours runtime of mostly filler. I believe both volumes are available on Disney+, otherwise it's free in RUclips.

    There are 7 forms of lightsaber combat at this time. The form Dooku is a master of is form 2 Makashi which is the form closest to what a real life fencer uses. The form Yoda employes during his fight with Dooku here is form 4 Ataru which involves a lot of acrobatics.
    Form 4 is also the form Obi-Wan employed during the events of episode 1 though he would later on go on to be called the master of form 3 Soresu which is a form built on defense and is the one employed by both the Jedi and the Sith to block blaster fire and return to sender.
    While most Jedi/Sith might become good at a few forms characters like Yoda, Palpatine and Vader became experts on all 7 forms.
