  • A nice kit by Hobby Boss of this iconic aircraft. Goes together very easy with no major problems. I thought it was a bit pricey though. I paid £25 for it on Ebay, it was the cheapest I could find at the time.
I would have liked to have had a NASA colour scheme included in the painting options but maybe that's a different / later model, I don't know.
Anyway if you like the video then please consider a like and subscribe..

Nice work. I'm pretty sure that this is the same mould of the Seminar version, that is a second brand of Academy, AFAIK.

As for as masking off the Canopy and Wheel Hubs, Eduard has a "Pre-Cut" Canopy Mask set available.
Something to remember about gluing the Wings together, use Tape instead of Clamps.
I glued my Wings together one night after I used Clamps to hold it together and the next morning I found the Wings had Warp sections all over the Wings were it was glued together.
Since this has such a long Wing, I drilled some holes in the Wings and Fuselage to add a round Wing-spar to prevent it snapping at the Wing-Fuselage joint when picked up by the Wings.
I just got their U-2C and hopefully I will not make the same mistakes like I did on their U-2A.

Hi Thomas...I don't use pre cut masks as they only get used once . Great idea of adding a wing spar..I will remember that one...I checked out the C version you mentioned..I didn't know it was available tbh...Defo be getting one in the future 👍

Its interesting to see this bird in something other then all black. Very cool. You are lucky (or just really good) with how thin you cut those wing markers. I've tried that in the past and they curled on me and I could not save them.

Once cut down wet the decal for just a few seconds then remove it from the water...When it is free from the backing paper pull the decal so a little is hanging over the edge...
Place the decal (hanging bit) on the model holding it in position and slide the backing paper away in a straight line (keeping it low to the model)....and you should be fine...

You.. you had the "nasa" theme included.. This version of the U-2 flew with NACA before it was renamed NASA in 1958
