Update: After testing on skin, this one is a pass for me. I liked the opening with that soft powdery, dewy, light violet/mixed floral scent but as it dried down, a familiar musk emerged and overtook the violet notes. It was familiar to me because it reminded me of the typical musk scent I've smelled in many recent designer women's perfumes. Performance was very light and it sat close to the skin. It's a likeable/crowd pleasing scent but at 260 euros for 75ml, I guess I expected more from this. I'm sure this would smell nice on others but on me, it just didn't work very well. If I'm in the mood for a violet scent I think I'll stick with Guerlain Insolence 😊 What's your favourite violet perfume?
Finally. Someone with a genuine review that isn't bought. I get so tired of the generic " It's great, you should buy it" from reviewers who obviously got sent an entire bottle.
I tried my sample today and I like Palatine. Love the way the violet is blended with the pear making the fragrance airy with a light sweetness. It is a "shy" and "demured" violet. For a "punchy" violet Creed has Love in Black. It is an easy to wear and classy fragrance, maybe leaning towards a younger person, but equally wearable if one is older. Would I buy it? Yes, I would as not every single fragrance I own must make a lound statement.
It was just meh for me. Won't be buying. At the price of $375 it needs to be a 10/10. I'd say it was a 7/10 for me. Not enough violet. Love that bottle though.
i have one violet based perfume that was a gift. and though it isn't something i gravitate to, it is nice, it reminds me of those old fashioned little violet candies tho it's not sweet per se. it's the marc jacobs daisy dream and the bottle is really cute, too. i think i've used half the bottle even though i don't reach for it a lot.
Thank you for the review it was very helpful, as I was very curious about this one. Violets always remind me of my beloved grandma as she had them in her garden. I have April Violets from Yardley of London but it is an EDT and, although it smells very nice, it has poor performance. So I am in the market for a violet perfume, I was thinking of Insolence too, I have to do some research until spring.
Great review. I’ve watched several reviews on this release and all of the reviews were similar. I can’t see spending over $400 USD for a soft familiar scent. But that’s my personality…. Thanks for sharing!
Boring and overpriced! The hype for PdM scents is the only thing will make this scent to be sold. People spending >$300 for a boring tame and conventional office friendly scent? just because of the hype...it is way overpriced.
"Office friendly and tame" is actually a good thing to me, as it is the reality for many people that scents are worn mostly in closed environments, and that's where most time is spent. Not in the opera, or at parties, or some fancy events. So what's wrong in creating a scent that's perfect for realistic occasions?? I don't want to spray myself with intoxicating, exciting, mind blowing scents at 7 am. But I do want to smell "very good" in an expensive kind of way, without drawing too much attention.
@@sandyp939 Good for you if you have all your bills and mortgage paid! in my case I just spend money in very expensive fragrances if they blow me away with originality, beauty, longevity and sillage. For the office friendly situations you can smell elegant for way less money, like with guerlain Aqua Allegoria if you prefer it to be so discrete
@@sandyp939But there are millions of office safe scents that are better and much cheaper than this… you are only allowing yourself to be fooled and scammed because you believe the price point makes it smell ‘luxurious’ when it really just smells like bathroom spray. If you want actual office safe luxurious scents u should try some diptyque

Parfums de Marly was sold last year.. so that means that future releases may not be on the same quality level as previous releases.
Dama Bianca & Celeste
Yes, insolence is beautiful
Insolence! Wearing it today. I adore violet/lipstick/powder scents: FM Lipstick Rose, Chanel Misia, Guerlain Meteorites.

Thank you for your honest review. I will wait to get a sample before spending this amount of money for the whole bottle!

Spot on description, beautiful fresh Floral a bit fruity, slightly aquatic soft scent 💜

It really reninds me a lot of the OH moschino. Very old but great parfume

I can’t un-associate the name with the palatine bone so I don’t even want to try it haha
Lol tbh I was thinking of Palpatine from Star Wars, super creepy lol
I would probably like this but the price is so outrageous I won’t be buying

It is very forgettable. For almost 400.00 it should be a lot stronger. The scent is pretty, but it fades very fast.
Hej! For me nothing special!!thank you for sharing your thoughts!
