The Type R and GR Yaris are clearly better all rounders. Also, it was a misstep for Mini not to offer the GP as a manual and make its ride quality more pliant. But it's still an appealing drive, if only on the right road, and blindingly quick (quicker than the Honda and Toyota).
I love it it’s great car really well equipped and holding better value then competition. The ride it’s not hard at all , most amazing it’s how this car are well put together. Then the instant I mean instant response from the engine Just hit the gas’s when you wanted to go and the car it’s like little pocket racket That’s why I own 2 off them I love this car 👍
Seems as if it is a throwback to the original Mini Cooper S circa mid late 60s, flawed, engaging and uncompromising but if you take for what it is, fun! Perhaps Dan should have a go at one of the old ones to see what Minis were meant to be. I also despair having automatic only.
Having listened to your podcast I thought this review would be far more scathing than it ended up being. Not sure if AF has reviewed one yet, be interesting to see if he was able accentuate the positive.
Over styled, over priced, over rated. The GP2 was a wonderfully pure little car this thing looks a mess in comparison. Another clear and honest review, nice one Dan 👍🏼
The "New" Mini is getting really old and tired now. Type R if not the GR Yaris any day 😂😂😂 would even pick Hyundai's way modern way more driver focus N over any Mini not even the new Golf tbh

Well we passing Cayman and M2 competition on the track all the time for me it’s GP3 one of the greatest handling car on the track

Actually we drive the cars every day and with winter tires GP3 it’s unbelievable fun in snow .

Civic Type R makes this utterly irrelevant, a far better package for the same money .
