I first came aboard in August of 2020 and was inspired to take the steps to become a commercial helicopter pilot and finally follow my childhood dream. After starting school I had to take a break due to divorce and a breast cancer diagnosis. Today I’m proud to be cancer free and starting back up at school in March of 2024 to finish the last 25 hours of my commercial license here in Canada. I am a huge fan of Mischa and Reuben as well. My goal is to finish my license fly the HX50 and one day operate the HC50 commercially. Thank you for proving dreams come true and for keeping me inspired to live mine too!!
Congratulations on being cancer-free. It's my dream to fly a helicopter. My father was an airplane and helicopter pilot, flying has always been in my blood but I'll never be able to afford school. 😢
Good Onya for being Strong. I Can’t say much about those two (Mischa & Reuben) I nearly moved on, But I do like the HX50 Very Much. Hopefully one day I’ll purchase one. Once again good on you.
When I was a kid, I fell in love with helicopters because of the tv series "Airwolf". The Bell 222, to me, was the most beautiful helicopter. If they did a reboot or "Airwolf", after discovering Hill helicopters, I wouldn't mind at all if they used an HX50 to replace the original Bell! Well done!!

1:09:13 Hes right that in order to control costs you have to have complete vertical integration of the manufacturing process. A lot of aviation companies buy all of the components from different suppliers and then assemble them at their factory, but that means they have to pay whatever the suppliers prices are and each supplier is trying to make a profit. That profit from each part is additional pricing that has to be added in to the final msrp. The way theyre doing it theyre going to get all of the components at cost plus labor so its going to be a million times cheaper. Theyre going to be getting their engines at the price it costs to make them vs what a company charges for them. This is going to be huge as far as them keeping the final msrp as low as possible.

When my teachers realized that I was good at designing airplanes, automobiles, motorcycles and helicopters as a young child, they complained to my Dad and the principal and they made me stop.
I’ll be surprised if this bird flys by 2027/8 with the home built engine shown. A clean sheet design of a gas turbine that is organically built is a unicorn. I’ve always thought it was a bad idea to not use a proven power plant built by a proven manufacturer whose life depends on making a good engine. I’d also concentrate on the folding green and forget the warm and fuzzy green until I got the ship airborne. The machine is already on a trajectory to be a million dollar helicopter by the time it becomes available. Doing a product launch with a no engine and non-flying prototype is a bit strange. This thing is beautiful but it’s got a long way to go. I’m not convinced that it won’t be the second or third owner that gets it across the finish line. Just my opinion based on investing in and working with many start-ups.
I agree about the engine. If performance targets do not depend on the new engine, there is no need to add risk and delay to the aircraft project for the engine; If performance targets do depend on the new engine, the project will fail, since the new engine is unlikely to meet targets (exceptionally unlikely in the case of an inexperienced manufacturer).
A proven turbine engine is key. As for the guy that talks about this being a million dollar helicopter.. ARE YOU INSANE?? Agusta helicopters are 10-13 million. Maybe 16 million now.
So cool! Been following them for awhile now. It’s so cool to see someone bring this aircraft at the price that many can afford! Not me!!!!!!!! But some lucky people will enjoy! Aircraft cost millions!!! And 3/4 million is a steal.
What a gorgeous machine. Please get in touch if you guys would like to bring this beast to MSFS 2024 as there are thousands of simmers who'd love to fly this bird and might someday become owners ;)
They remind me of newer R/C heli's. I feel we are going to see the radio control world is inspiring full size engineers to think different and start to use different materials.
Simply astounding. I was impressed from the start. By the time you explained your development of an entire engine, I was blown away. Will you guys be selling your engines?
Summary: they now have pretty models of what appear to be complete helicopters, but they don't even have one complete engine so they are very far from anything flying... but you can give them money today in hopes that someday they will build a helicopter for you.
Part of that system is that the deposit that you pay today is spent on development and promotion, so if they are ever ready to build one for you, they will still need the while production cost so your price will go up... and if they go bankrupt there will be no money to refund you.
I love his thoughts of bringing genral aviation up to automotive standards. GA has been stuck in the 1960s for the most part. There are a few aircraft companies that bring great innovation but unfortunately not many. What I want to know is how much??? They were saying the people that were going to be flying the helicopters are the same people who drive Supercars? Great, looks like I'm shit out of luck. Take care. Hawk out!!

I think you are going to be supprised. I'm astonished by your level of negativity.
I'm surprised by his level of optimism,@@disabledglobalchallenge290 - he seems to assume that it will actually reach production.
Yep! Maybe pop a certified engine in it and develop engine and airframe in parallel.
A proven turbine engine is key. As for the guy that talks about this being a million dollar helicopter.. ARE YOU INSANE?? Agusta helicopters are 10-13 million. Maybe 16 million now.
Where is this helicopter ?
Dreams do come true with commitment and persistence. Fantastic to watch your dream become a reality.
They remind me of newer R/C heli's. I feel we are going to see the radio control world is inspiring full size engineers to think different and start to use different materials.
What a great interior design 👍🏼
Absolutely luv this aircraft!!! 💯
Simply astounding. I was impressed from the start. By the time you explained your development of an entire engine, I was blown away. Will you guys be selling your engines?
Brilliant explanation o difference in stability between 2blade n 3blade design.
So Glad you followed through with this project. Well done!...BUT, A five year waiting list? A lot can happen in five years.
Summary: they now have pretty models of what appear to be complete helicopters, but they don't even have one complete engine so they are very far from anything flying... but you can give them money today in hopes that someday they will build a helicopter for you.
Yes. This is how the startup aviation business works. And it's also why most of them fail.
Part of that system is that the deposit that you pay today is spent on development and promotion, so if they are ever ready to build one for you, they will still need the while production cost so your price will go up... and if they go bankrupt there will be no money to refund you.
Holy crap, y'all are making your own bearings???? That's incredible!!! Could you please do a video on just that?
They look amazing!! Did the video talk the range and speed? I skipped through, but did not catch those.
Take care. Hawk out!!
Gorgeous helicopter! 😍😍😍
Congratulations to the Hills Team...
