It is insane how much of a difference the mic makes. Mic choice seems to completely change the characteristic of the amp.
What ever is last in the chain will always have to most profound effect on sound!

@@kombatunit66 the idea in a studio setting is getting a mix between all the mics, the sm58 alone is good for a live setting but if it was up to me I wouldn't use it alone for a studio recording

This multi-mic setup really makes you pay attention to the response of an amp itself as opposed to the amp through a specific microphone.

06:04 that’s right. It’s supposed to be useful when playing 7 and 8 string guitars in order to obtain tighter low end.
It is a very useful switch. It shows that this amp was designed by a bass player.
That one part in the intro kinda sounds like the 28 days later song. Sick🤙

I'd love to hear that room mic blended with one or more of the cab mics. Probably my favourite thing to do when in the digital realm is blending room mic IRs with cab IRs for some tasty tones, be interesting to see what it sounds like with a real amp, and one this gnarly

Love my super kraken. Sure its fairly dark sounding with everything at noon but they EQ is usable all the way around and its easy to get a brighter sound out of it.
I use a precision drive to brighten it up a bit. But i agree that my one and only gripe with the amp is: the lack of presence control
My favorite Solar yet. That'll be the one I get when I graduate with that ol business degree 🦹♂️
How strange is it that the least expensive mic sounds the best! (to my ears) The shure 58 is what I use live. However the Neumman mic sounds great as well. I just can't get over the price difference! (Such as it is) Thank-You Ola for another great, & entertaining RUclips video! (I find it never hurts to stroke the host a bit!) So good job, atta boy, etc....🤘🤪

Some tasty riffage there.... The mics on the cab sounded great, but the room Mic was what sold it for me, that was MASSIVE sounding!
And this week on rig of duh week. Ola the rifferer makes an amp not sound the same as every other amp!

I tried one of these in Andertons last year and I've rarely ever had so much fun playing an amp. The sort of amp that you don't even need any pedals to have an amazing time with
Seriously. I bought one a while back and it kicked all my OD/Distortion pedals off my pedalboard. Only thing left are a few fuzz pedals and they blend very well with the Crunch channel on the amp.
Speaking of the Crunch channel, I'm kinda sad Ola didn't gun the gain on channel 1 while in Crunch mode. With the Focus boost on the amp or a boost pedal up front, you can get a really nice cranked high-gain Marshall sound.

Gain 1 is Marshall JCM800 like circuitry while Gain 2 is towards Peavey 5150/6505....

Thanks for the demo! somehow the recording sees to be missing some top end compared to other Kraken and Super Kraken demo's I've heard...focus knob seems like it should be on all the time :)
