Mark is such a great guy. Met him a few times. Once at Guitar Center in Orlando years ago with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Another time shortly after that at an Alter Bridge concert upstairs at the House Of Blues. He introduced me to Cliff from Sevendust and his wife. Very genuine. It was a couple great experiences being in my early 20s.

I set my tube amps to a great clean tone and when I go to the high gain, I use the Friedman Buxom Boost to shape the eq and tighten up the high end. Great pedal for tone shaping and a lil extra push.
I have a VX100 Super Kraken. I really dig it. The cleans on Gain 1 are great and the amount of distortion on Gain 2 is insane. Thought I'd be annoyed with the shared EQ, but it doesn't bother me. I love the versatility with the footswitches, the way you can set it up to switch individual master volumes OR switch with the channels, the bass focus, the preamp focus, the midi switching, etc. The tones are amazing. The only thing I don't like about mine is the crunch channel mode being way too flubby for what I was hoping for.
Would love to see a Super Jack review/demo. Sounds like a really cool amp, but I don't see many demos of it, and it seems like it's mostly blues stuff. I want to see that high gain intergity riffage through a Super Jack.

I just didn't get on with mine swapped EL34's that it came with for 6L6's and it helped a bit, but over all I found it too round sounding, and quite noisy, maybe I got a dud I don't know but I moved it on after a couple of months, by the way @agufish there was quite the background hum/drone sound throughout this video
Cant agree more with victory being good. Have had a a victory v40 deluxe. My current main amp is a victory v30 the countess mkll and someday if can get the money really wanna try one of the kraken family amps.

I had a crush on the Victory Highball mototrcycle for a long time.
I got to try a super Kraken about a year ago at a music store. It’s been my new bucket list amp ever since. I’m just not in the market for a $3K amp.
The crazy thing is that the price has jumped post-pandemic. I just saw a review from like 4 years ago where the VX100 was $1900

Tried the Super Kraken recently in a music store and was floored how good it sounded.
I am usually 100% the type of person in dire need of a boost in front of my amp,.mostly 5150+MXR M77 style setups, bit this amp did not needed the boost.
But important: from what i know, the suoer kraken is not only 100W instead of 50W. It also has basically a built in preamp boost, which is essential in tighting up the amp.
The 180W Kraken pedal will not get you this sound unless boosted! But is also amazing in it's own right!
I wonder what happens if you run the Kraken preamp into the front of the Super Kraken amp?
I've seen several demo's of this amp and they're always dark and muddy. I was expecting the same, but yours is the first where I actually like the sound of it. I wonder what you did differently.
Using the right IRs is important 😃. Also the pre-amp focus toggle is pretty effective in killing mud
It doesn't have the metallic top end of a 5150 or newer Marshall, but the Kraken is anything but dark. It's the most direct, cutting, right-in-your-face amp I've played for years. Combines the tightness of a modern high-gain amp with the dry snarl of something vintage cranked through the roof
The Kraken sounds huge! It’s definitely its own thing and like you said, its got some British and American high gain character. Rabea and Victory definitely made a cool amp.
Like several others here though, I’m also really into how the Harley Benton sigs are sounding/looking here. Can’t wait for the full release. I’m probably going to end up buying a few if they don’t all sell out immediately (which I somewhat expect they might).

I’ve got 2 of the 180w v4 Victory’s. A kraken and a duchess. Absolutely wonderful amps. I’d love a super kraken now too though 😂.

7 watts is loud on my victory but they do a good job keeping it sounding good in low watt mode
Sounds a lot like Marks MT-15. I have one. I love it. It’s the first version with the 6L6 tubes. Would like to find a new one with the newer tubes.

This is probably the most disgustingly good tone I've heard from any amp in a long time. I always love British flavored amps, but this just takes the fucking biscuit with that roar. Usually they're so fizzy, but this is just like a chunky punch in the face. It's the perfect blend of roar, chunk and warmth.
The VX100 is literally my dream amp, it just seems perfect in every way
Rabea's guitar looked brand new in that clip of him playing- when I saw him at Guitar Center a few years ago with that guitar he had a literal chunk worn through the body from his pick hahaha.
I’ve been waiting on Mark Tremonti’s mythical MT-100 that’s supposed to be 3 channel Fender clean, Dumble sounding clean-OD, and his Mesa/Diezel/Archon/Omega whatever flavor heavy.

How does this compare to some of the PRS high gain amps? Definitely got that Alter Bridge crunch and Hi gain tones. But im hesitant simply due to cost and the clean tone. One of the things that i like about the Archon and tremonti is that it lind of does that fender clean thing

Would imagine the focus switches are low and high cut respectively. The opposite of what you'd think. Low focus is high cut, and vice versa. Compressors basically.
Is there a volume jump when you footswitch between clean and crunch on ch1 ?

Is that amp always noisy just idling? I hear a distinct hum while you are talking with the amp on.
It's not the amp noise that's audible in the room, I'm not really sure what it's picking up since the amp is on standby when I'm not running a guitar through it

Next time your mic picks up amp hum, just put a 60Hz high pass filter on the dialogue audio
Maybe try merging 2 heads for content. Like the Super Kraken with a Rectifier?
Interestingly, that’s one of my favorite amp combos right now. The Heritage video I just did was the Recto and Kraken panned hard left and hard right for rhythms (or the other way around, can’t remember off the top of my head)

It's a great amp. I think it's unfortunate that they didn't just make this a 3 channel/mode amp with a dedicated gain and master volume for each channel, and foot-switchable to each of the 3 channels. The soldano SLO30 has the same issue. Both amps are so close to this already. It would've have taken much additionals to get there... but now they are functionally so far away from that.
Also, if you're like me and not as much into extreme metal, Victory's recently revamped Sheriff amps might be better for you?

I was a near Army brat when I was a teenager; my family went Frankfurt am Main in what was then West Germany. That's where I hit my twenties. Even though I was young, however, I couldn't really get the hang of metric so easily. I was stoked when many American products began adding metric measure to their products, but then we wimped out and stopped. Yes, the metric conversion is still there, but I would ask why we haven't taken the next step and favored the metric over the Imperial. Our metric rejection can't last much longer, though. With the GOP and MAGA in the mix, every other country will soon lose so much respect for the USA that they will begin selling all their stuff in metric only, regardless of destination.
On the subject of amps, I've always been to poverty-stricken to afford tube amps. I've never owned an all-tube amp; the closest thing I've ever had to that has one 12AX7 in the preamp section feeding the solid-state power amp. Instead of tube amps I can't afford and can't justify, I have gone digital. In fact, I just got a Donner Arena 2000 multi-effector. It has a few tricks that my relatively ancient DigiTech and Zoom multi-effectors don't have, such as possessing both speaker models AND Impulse Responses as well as effect modules that can be rearranged. I dig the way all my multi-effectors sound and treasure their versatility.
