The interviewer killed it in this. Great job on her part.
Dawn Eden will appreciate that. Thank you.
Great! I'm glad to hear.
I really wanna comment....
Watching Jonathan is more therapeutical than seeing my psycho therapist. Best personality ever. I Love You Jonathan. Peace and love man.
She asked a simple question? What’s your favorite color? A one word answer is all that’s required but the eccentric Jonathan Richman comes back with a complicated answer! I like combinations he says! Wow! He’s off the chain! They definitely broke the mold when he was born. A true character!
this is my favorite video on the internet.
I saw him upstairs at the Middle East in Cambridge MA last year. He made the house turn the AC off! It was hot as hell in that little room, but you could hear him so much better without it. He even sang an a capella version of Volare, while standing in the audience, for an encore. Priceless!
love his smile at the camera after his air conditioner comment
i cant believe i've found someone who understands the "blue coloured songs that arent sad thing" like i do
I love this guy.
Weirdest best man on the planet.
Seen him many many times 1979-2019. Amazing guy, wonderful human.
Love his answer to the color question. Didn't expect that answer but it was great. Color is big for me too and it's not so simple. And the color of the words on the screen changing made me happy.
He gives the best answer in history to "what's you favorite color?" As expected of him.
I saw Richman in Paris in '01 and had seen him in NYC around '80. Twice. He did a chat in bad French which everyone understood about colors. His imitation of Chevalier was very cute. When he first came onto the stage, I thought, whose kid is that? I've nearly known him directly since the '70s. I knew HIPPIE JOHNNIE for example. Very brilliant artist and good clip!
Thanks I had no idea.
"Do you sing better if the room isn't air-conditioned?"
"Yep."
This is so eccentric. I love it.
It's a thing! I asked that because I recalled reading that a famous singer--Billie Holiday, I think--had trouble singing in air-conditioned rooms.
@@DawnofMercybob Dylan won't sleep in air conditioning rooms
Great interview
awesome interview, i wish there was more
There is more, but we decided to hold off on uploading until it can be restored.
I wanted to add a like to this video but I left it at 420 for a bit more
So honest and true...love Jonathan Richman!!
good questions
I like combinations
This is GREAT 👍🏻! Heading home to play ROADRUNNER! 🤪
I going to have to rethink my color patterns.
Awesome sauce from l.a california
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
yay another jojo interview!
This is where Mac demarco got his persona
I might seem like Jonathan Richman and a few other celebrities' creepiest schizophrenic watcher but since last watching this video a print my mother gave me that had lovely colours in it is now mainly blue wash. It may be chlorine. I had broken the glass moving it maybe after I noticed most of the steeples were missing. However it was done more like three months ago - the blue - rather than 11 years. I do watch lots of you tube videos and this would not be the first time I have thought a nearby presumably cyber stalker was inspired by one.
Was this on the West Coast? She sounds like a West Coast gal...
Richman is idiosyncratic by birth. Even John Cale found him unpredictable and downright bizzare when producing Modern Lovers album
