Portrays aspects of south-west, Western Australian forests, linking forests and wood to various 'end products'. The film takes an historic approach, covering the early years of forest-based industry operation, through to more recent times. It briefly examines the then 'multiple-use' philosophy; the role of softwood plantations; the use of prescribed fire; and woodchip production. It also reviews then current controversies (+ sound).
