- Don Carr presents the Bogner Lyndhurst Compressor pedal. Loaded with a Rupert Neve-designed transformer, this compressor pedal puts the coveted sound of a classic recording console onto your pedalboard. Its built-in studio-grade preamp brings out every nuance of your instrument before its signal even hits the compressor. The Lyndhurst employs the same state-of-the-art VCA technology that's used for expensive outboard gear. You can expect truckloads of rich harmonics and vintage warmth when you plug into this pedal. The Lyndhurst is meant to be the end-all-be-all of compressors, and it may well be the only one you need.

This is the best compressor pedal I've ever heard. Literally sounds like it's being put through a vintage rackmount compressor unit.
Ameer Saban agreed. Wonder how it stacks up to the Cali76
+TheSphericalGuy very warm sounding,sparkle,snap & natural
The whole Bogner RND line is something else. I run all kinds of instruments, drum mixes, and groups through the Bogner Harlow. It's magic,
I've been through a lot of compressors over the years but because of this demo I bit the bullet and got it. this is by far the best compressor I have ever played. thanks for the demo guys my compressor Hunt is now over
Kenny34231 have you tried Pulp n Peel v4 or Keeley Compressor Pro? How's this compare?
@@sammmfoley They’re all good. I really can’t say which is best, as they all do a certain thing really well.
The Pulp n Peel is the quietest. It doesn’t add a lot of noise like most comps do. It also adds a vintage vibe to the tone, and if you get the V4 you can add a little(or lot) of grit with the parallel dirt circuit.
The Keeley comp is super popular for a reason. It has a lot of clarity, even when max squashed for finger picking. My fav Keeley comp version is the original 4 knob, having the added input gain control gives you the option of using the pedal as a clean or slightly dirty style comp. The newer versions are very clean, which is nice too... but I prefer having the option.
The Lyndhurst is the most versatile of the 3, and the most hi-fi sounding. Sounds less like an “effect” than the others. Gives me more of a feeling like the finishing touch of a rack compressor in the studio. Has more options as well... if you’re a knob fiddler and like messing with things and getting everything just right, this is good. If you like simple interfaces and wanna set it and forget, this is bad news.
I know this probably didn’t help much since I just kinda complimented them all... but hey, it’s the best I could come up with in the context of a YT reply _)
Love the Lyndhurst both for supersqashed signals and subtle color. It's sounds like a sweetspot from extreme to lean. Very awesome 👍🏻 😎
Great demo, sounds like another killer Bogner/Neve collaboration.
Thats a great sounding comp!!
great playing Don!!!
Ja, I just bought one and it's on my pedal board already, it's crisp and cool, better than my old Carl Marten.... Nice demo Don, very nice playing and the no frills demo was all I needed to see... and damn that is an elegant PRS....I have a late eighties vintage yellow PRS that is my main guitar, but, but.... want one of those too,,,:(
That sounds amazing. Great playing, as usual.
Nice pedal----& the guitar player sounds really cool also!
okay I'm impressed, damn it now I got to have one
0:41 CLASS.
Just tried this today at #eastgate guitar shop Melbourne Australia - i was using an empress fuzz and a JHS fuzz - telecaster through acvox15 #greenback - simply mindblowing - you can also use it as a booster - its the first compressor I've used and its the only compressor i think i'm gonna use - Im open to recommendations/ suggestions :)
Is this a good compressor for Bass Guitar or will it brighten the tone too much?
Thanks for your question, Jed. Hope you and yours are safe and well.
Some compressors do have shelving eq or a passive tone control. This one had a three position switch. Generally, solid state compressors don't have a significant tone change. If it's tube or optical, there could be a top end roll off. The Lyndhurst is discontinued, it was a VCA style. Some designers do introduce tone controls to accommodate specific sounds or to match the unaltered tone of the instrument.

4:51 That's buzzed...
is this a SOFT KNEE COMPRESSOR that a bass player can use?
Hello, Joe! I wasn't quite sure myself, so I reached out to Bogner. They said, "Yes, just depends on how the controls are set on the pedal." I haven't personally tried this compressor out on bass yet, but by the sounds of it, I think it would actually work great. There's no option for parallel compression via blend knob on there, nor sidechain compression (so you don't over-squash your low end), but it's versatile/transparent enough to handle almost anything.
Thanks for the interest!

Does anyone know what song he is playing at 0:42 ?
jeff foti-That's a tune I wrote, hope you like it! For what it's worth, all of the music, in any video I'm in, is composed by me. It's usually inspired by whatever I'm demo-ing.
Thanks! Don Carr
Yes! Absolutely loved it! Thanks for the reply
