It was like a home to her, she felt free there and had many memories
I was privileged to tour it in 2019 in Scotland. It is a gorgeous little home on the water. You can imagine the Royal family relaxing there. Nice tour!
My husband and I were on it too on the day Harry got married and we watched it on telly in the gift shop. We were all given a glass of sparkling wine. It was a lovely, sunny day.
I got to see her in person in the early 80s..pulling into shelter island in
San Diego...
Charles and Diana were aboard.
1. It was the one place where the only photos were taken by the family. They could anchor offshore and go to quiet coves.Total freedom and privacy. The crew became a close team.
2. There was also real nastiness in Cherie Blair's alleged interference in the decision to decommission and not replace the yacht which
3 had served as a floating embassy for the UK providing the comforts of home in an endless round of official events
Yes Mrs. Blair was/is a mean spiteful anti-monarchy witch!!👺
It’s always sad when a ship is decommissioned. We grew up seeing it take members of the RF to different countries all over the world. I emigrated to the US and watched from my living room window as Britannia sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge in 1982. She looked magnificent. So much history…
Tony Blair, the then prime minister, gave the royal family the option of paying for the upkeep of the yacht as the British tax payer had paid for it's upkeep up until then. They declined the offer.
It was not only used by the royal family but also used by the important people of govt. as well. Btw, it was not HM's personal purchase that she would have put her own money in its maintenance. It was a sea presence of HM's Govt (UK) which was a good PR material for the country. Many important diplomatic missions were accomplished over there.
PLEASE PRESENT MORE CANDID
VIDEOS OF THE QUEEN….‼️
THEY ARE ‘ NOW ‘-
EXTRA - SPECIAL ‼️😇
I'm sure it's not "countless" someone somewhere has the exact tally. The late queen was sad and felt let down a little since all of her estates/castles and lands were passed down through inheritance...the queen's yacht was commissioned during her rein and therefore she felt it part of her legacy or as the only one of her "properties" that bore her name.
It should have been made into a museum. And charge a fee to see ...thus having funds for its refurbishing ...
They have tours inside; pay a fee to see it.
👍🏼 She is a museum, now.
I’ve been on it it’s moored in Edinburgh
That was very MEAN of the govt of the day!
Her Majesty shed a tear for a ship, but didn't shed a tear for Princess Diana.
The Queen wasn't a hypocrite.
Perhaps she did in privacy.
Were you with her when she got the news , the RF don't live every moment of their lives in front of cameras ,what a ridiculous statement !
When it did happen the queens first reaction was probably her grandchildren taking care of them first!
Are you an American, right?
Also there had been a Royal vessel of some kind for a thousand years, this is why it was sad.
I thought it was mean that Tony Blair took the yacht and decommissioned it .
❤
It's a shame that she couldn't muster up a tear when her grandson's lost their mother.
What makes you think that she didn't , what a stupid comment !
She may have did so privately but had to stay outwardly strong and immovable as her priority was comforting her two grandkids, not making sure to cry for the cameras
They were in Scotland… how do you know what she did or didn’t do in privacy?

It wasn't the royal family's decision to decommission the yacht it was the government under Tony Blair to reduce expenses that's why it was decommissioned the queen cried because it was her home away from home and it was like a floating ambassador for London and England and our queen
Not the Queen showing more emotion at the retirement of a yacht than at the funeral of her grandchildren's mother who died violently.
She won’t cry on camera for you.
They were in Scotland.
If she felt that way you did not want too pay for its upkeep.
Why she didn't pay it with her own money.
Exactly.
Because it belonged to the country and was crewed by the Royal Navy and the then government was determined to decommission it even though it was often used to entertain foreign dignitaries and heads of state on behalf of the country and the Queen was a brilliant diplomat .
@@ninjacat4929 it didn't belong to the country. The tax payers money was used for its upkeep. The people of the country were not allowed to board it, dine on it, sleep on it, have vacations on it...
@@foshoy7548So, the important elected ppl of the govt were not people of the country? Do you get to enjoy in 10 Downing Street?
She launched it and she put it to bed.
She outlived it.
It’s a nice boat but I don’t see how she found peace on it.
Too many eyes in her / crew watching her.
Yes but the media were kept out. And I believe it was easier to have security in the yacht.
@@nancymilawski1048 - true.
Wow 😯 love ❤️ to see it when I’m up in Scotland ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
End of an era. End of privacy.
I cried when my yacht was decommissioned.
Tony Blairs decision, not hers. I saw it sail under the Golden Gate in the 1980s
What a shame...
Blair and wife both being anti Royalist , with Cherie coming from an Irish republican family who came to England for a better life while holding on to a hatred of Britain and the Royal Family !
With planes trains, and palaces I feel no pity.
And turn the Govt blew money on a pointless Millenium Dome exhibition.
Like when hard workers lose their own homes due to taxes.
I'm crying my heart out because I lost my fur coat.
Try to live on rich people.
Tony Blair destroyed CHMTQ. She loved this ship it was freedom to escape. Was so so sorry for her.
This was a cruel Act, and they knew it. That ship is in perfect shape today as if never used. It easily could’ve been switched over to nuclear.
She didn't shed tears for her people but she does for a thing. That sums up all royals.
You mean she can't have a personal feeling for her personal life? If she has, then she doesn't have feelings for her people?
Sparkle? How cynical. What has soured you so badly?
I wish you would stop pretending to know what the Queen felt about things , you have no idea !
They should have kept it. Feel sorry for HM she deserved all the happiness she could get and more.
Not me
it’s a known fact the queen had just over 200 poo’s on that ship ⛴️ may she rest in peace 🇬🇧❤
Its very homely... almost scruffy.
That’s why they liked it.
Its a bit like when we're evicted but hey no she has a few castles to help wipe away tnose tears
So notning like what we go through
I was wrong
I think she she's more tears here than over the deaths of her sister Margaret & her mom & her husband Prince Phillip. 🤴 Definitely more than Princess Diana. 👸
She didn't cry at Diana's funeral a human is more important than a boat
Y shld she cry outloud at
Dianas Funeral may b deep. down she was holding back her tears.bcoz it is not nice
to show d world as she as a Queen make a scene in front of d pubbluc.
Of course she cried over Diana, and she bowed her head and paid tribute..
Plonker.
Wow, if I had such a 🐴beautiful horse, I would spend alot more time with it.
Your comments read like someone who needs too🐎

This still chokes me up to watch.😔
They want freebies.
Wondering if she showed the same emotions or more for the death of Princess Diana??
She never cried for a human being but only for a ship. Strange behaviour.
...it serves LEECHES!!!
Poor thing having to give up her yacht (sarcasm) while ordinarily people are struggling to put a meal on the table. Time to get rid of the monarchy, they’re too expensive!
Weak king and queen not a good
For Diana's she didn't cry but for the yatch yes instead...... Honeslty.................
No not honestly , that has just been made up in these comments !
Was you there when she was informed about Princess Diana's death??
You sound ridiculous 🤦🏼♀️😂
Cherie Blair no longer has a say. Than, re-comission it.
If Britannia was re-commissioned, she would require a lot of work
I'm sure she got another yacht as soon as she could.
Idiot. NO SHE DIDN'T.
They can afford to keep running it !
