The music is just better on the iPhone of course soon as he play the settings it is perfect but for Android music soon as he play with the settings again it drops down to 5% that turns down the volume what's up with that and it's been on Android phones for many years and it's very annoying
I admit, I was a die-hard Android fan a while ago, but when I tried the XR for a few weeks, I was totally hooked. I now get why people dig iPhones 🤷♂️
@@charlesmagtoto7124 Yikes. You downgraded from a notchless edge Quad HD 570 ppi screen to an LCD with 326 ppi with 828p. That's enough to make me think you never even had an s9 before. What a downgrade
@@evagupta6474 your phone is used more often than anything else, it's more multifunctional than anything else you have, and it stuffs all of that in your pocket. I don't think $1k is too expensive, especially on the Apple side where the investment tends to last longer. How others spend their money is neither mine nor your concern.
@@evagupta6474 Galaxy is expensive, but not overpriced. I bought s8 for 720$. And got free goodies. I think the price is justified for what they offer. iPhone, not the same. People might stop buying if Samsung charges more, but not the case with iPhone.
@@ZenGuitarStudios Yep, wireless charging is fine, but via cable isn't working when screen is off. First they came for the wires on our headphones... Then they came for the wires on our chargers...
I was anti apple for the longest time. then I tried ios and bought an iphone 7+. feels like a new phone even after the previous owner had it for over a year
Same here, been an android fan for 10 years. Switched from my essential phone with Android 10 to an iphone 7 plus to test. Decided to use it permanently.
UnrealOG you are saying like you are using samsung galaxy s5 when s10 is already there.. use iphone x or newer model and you’ll be in love with iphone.. i was using oneplus 6t and moved on to xs max.. and trust me, I’ll be on iphone for the rest of my life😄😍
As an Android fan, the one thing I only liked about the iPhone X and XS were the gestures. They just feel so natural and slick while Android's gestures leave a lot to be desired.
I agree! Gestures are a huge thing for me. I have tried many third party gestures apps, but in the end stick with the few that come with nova launcher. And still it doesn't feel as smooth as Apple's gestures. The only problem I'd have is, Apple probably won't let you customise what each gesture does.
Android Pie's gestures are honestly a joke. If you're going to implement a gesture based navigation system, don't have it take up the same space as having a navbar with software buttons and implement the back button into the gestures instead of putting it to the side as an afterthought. In fact, just dump it altogether and go for something like OnePlus' or Motorola's method for gesture control
Yeah I tried out iphone for a year, the gestures made it feel pretty smooth. I did end up getting a app (edge gestures,) to bring back the edge swipe to go back a page, and while it isn't as good it does the job.
I had Apple phones from the 3GS to the 10 XS Max, and switched to the S10+ about 4 months ago. I love this phone and how much Android has improved. But lately I can feel that pull.. on the eve of the new iPhone launch I can feel my wallet almost jumping out of my pocket... This is a great review, the information you impart is precise and impartial. The iPhone looks and works as I remembered, but the niggles you mentioned I remember as well. So let me thank you on two counts, firstly for the great video. And second helping me keep my wallet in my pocket.
@@varunnarain50 Hi, i gave in in the end and bought the 13 Max Pro. And have to say I love it, the improvements in the OS are fantastic. And the way Apple have configured the processer speed depending on the load is clever.. Battery life, screen ease of use and the intigration with my Mac and iPad just perfect. I could do an AirDrop of sorts with the Samsung using Snapdrop. But it;s a bit clunky. Keep up the good work.. I love your reviews.
@@keanpower8856 that’s really interesting because the 13 Pro Max is the first iPhone I’ve ever owned. The 120hz, incredible battery and generally being bored of android made me switch and so far it’s been astonishingly good. The way this phone blasts through everything and keeps 2 days battery life has made me a convert. Ever since The XS Max I’ve been tempted to switch from Samsung but with widgets and now Pro Motion, I’ve finally done it. Though I will always have a Windows PC just for gaming.
@@coollavalampguy1251 you missed the point. Apple used to be about making your life easier, and keeping things easy/simple. Steve jobs would be rolling in his grave if he knew one would need a dongle to connect their MacBook and iPhone. Same ecosystem, and brand should have a direct connection, no other company would do such.
Although I am an Android user, I would say that even though the Iphone is very very very good, I still would not buy it.. It just does not justify it's price.. The fact that Apple raised the price of it's new phones in a couple of years where $1k seems to be the norm and people are not bothered pisses me off.. I genuinely want to try one, but there is no way that I see the price justified..
Wait... doesn’t everything eventually elevate in price? I’m not paying the same for Gas in 2018 that I did in 2014. Why do people act like everything should remain the same price. Things are happening all over the world that affect the price of an item. Let’s not be blind just because it’s Apple.
The thing is not about price.. It's about value.. The competition has phones equally good at half the price.. If you have 2 gas stations next to each other where one is selling you fuel at X Dollars while the other one is selling at 2X Dollars, which one would you buy..?
@@coreys.3627 People justify choosing a product over another in different ways. Your analogy may work for you, but to others that just doesn't hold and water. Also, for those overseas, the price increase here will also increase their already expensive prices there. Making the iPhone's prices even more expensive, to a point that long time iPhone uses might even be forced to switch to Android because they can't afford it.
rahul nargundkar If the cheaper gas is watered down and is not as lean as the gas across the street I’ll pay little more. Again it all depends on what you want and what you’re willing to pay for. In this analogy, cheaper gas doesn’t t necessary mean a better value. Good discussion though...
I know! I have an iMac, MacBook Pro and an iPhone, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to using other phones. I also couldn't care less about what phones other people choose to use. Could you imagine? "How DARE you use that phone!" Rofl!!!
For me personally, why I see value with the iPhone is because how long they continue to support older devices. Older iPhones are running iOS 12 now. On top of that iMessage is great and the ecosystem makes everything easier. My iPhone 7 Plus benefited greatly from iOS 12. It does everything I need it to do just fine. It’s by no means slow for everyday tasks. It’s good to know when iOS 13 comes out my phone will also receive the update. By then I’ll get the redesigned iPhone. As far as the price, more people are starting to feel the difference because of how expensive they’ve become. It’s not easy to upgrade year after year. But they’re making them longer to last and include software updates for years to come. That’s my take on it but nothing wrong with Android at all.
As an Android user, I welcome Apples long-term software support. In that respect, they really have an edge. That said: If you want to have long software support on Android, you can have it. People that bought e.g. a Oneplus One in 2014 (Shipping with 4.4.2 Kitkat!) could flash every single major Android version since then (Android 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) unofficially but stable. And this is far from the only example, you just have to choose your phones wisely.
Robert Tausig at least my experience with my OnePlus One was very negative. OnePlus quickly stopped supporting the phone officially, and I could NEVER find a TRULY stable build. This instability is what caused me to switch back to iOS. I can't wait too see what OnePlus brings with the 6T. The 5, 5T and 6 have been beautiful devices, though also ~slowly~ creeping up in prices.
I bought an iphone 7 in 2016,my friend has s9 plus since a few months ago..I think performance wise still better in my 7 ..some time many bugs and lags in s9..I experienced only difference in screen when compared s9 with 7
ios gets updates coz it's way behind! ffs it took them so many years to fix a god damn messed up notifications! holy shit it's almost 2019! android doesn't get that much added feature updates anymore coz it's already there, just some tweaks and security patches! i use both platforms btw and ios is still way behind in terms of funcionality.
I'll be honest. I loved Samsung but after having the phones for a year, they started to become sluggish. Battery life was horrible. And security is questionable.
Clear the app cache partition once a week. Go to developer options and turn off the animation scales. Does wonders for it. I've been on the Galaxy since the S4 then had an S5, then a note 4, then an S8 plus, now a note 9. Never experienced any slowdowns by doing that. Also, utilize the SD card and have all your photos and videos stored on it rather than the phone. I stick with the Galaxy because the two most important features to me, are the camera and the fact that Android Auto works way better than Apple CarPlay since I spend more time in the car than anywhere else.
ronny Brown but why should you have to do all that just to keep your phone from not slowing down? You shouldn’t have to do that after paying so much money for a smartphone.
@@ducis3446 my iPhone 7 is slower than my note 5 on the latest IOS without doing that.... my iPhone is so goddam slow it's just annoying that they purposely slow it down.. no I won't be paying to fix the battery because I'm not paying to fix a problem Apple created. Next phone will most likely be the Samsung galaxy S10
Trevor Wilson I’m watching on my regular Xs. I switched over from my Galaxy s7. I’m glad I switched over to iOS. I don’t need all the extra features android gives since I never used them. And the battery life on this phone is still incredible.
The Verge are a bunch of upper middle class hipsters obsessed with apple.. Everything original from a non apple phone is a gimmick or something just "ok".. any random useless crap from Apple is presented like such a huge and important feature, even if it is exactly the same that was totally ignored in an android phone 1 year before.
Finally a video that focuses on the good side of Apple and the XS Max. It seems like every other youtuber just follows the trend to hate and points out the flaws.
@@dimaisatree I can easily afford it, but is it practical? no. what do u really do on an iPhone xs max that needs so much power that u can get in a phone way cheaper?
Techtonik I like it so I bought it. I love how’s its so different from every other phone. All these other phone brands all use android, their settings, google search, apps etc all looks like same. The only difference is the design of the phone.
Ronald Nyandoro having had Samsung phones in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised if you never got Android 9.0 on your phone. They like to drop support out of nowhere. This was a huge part of me leaving that ecosystem for iOS
Get a OnePlus. From what I hear, there 3T is still receiving updates, and I got Android 9.0 like 2 weeks ago. Honestly, Oxygen OS is smoother than stock Android.
Broseidon: Lord of the Brocean I’m a big fan of Oneplus and what they do. I liked them so much I bought a phone for a family member from Oneplus last year. But they aren’t perfect. Lack of wireless charging, and the HORRID camera quality is definitely keeping me on my iPhone. But bang for the buck, Oneplus is offering some of the best Android has to offer hands down. I hope they keep putting out great products, I’ll keep buying them
for me it's opposite, the only reason I don't like iPhone is iOS, I am a developer, writing an app for iOS is a pain in the ass, Apple always forcing you to use their solutions, and god forbid if there is new standard API and you want to use it in iOS, it takes them couple years to just consider adding that API! I have been an Android user from version 1.6, the early versions of Android weren't that good (actually they were awful), but now Android is evolved. Android is better than iOS in every aspect.
You sure you in app development ?? Cause I'm pretty sure that developing for iOS is alot better than Android. I'm a developer too. And the major reason for all. Android Studio works better on MacOS and yet very buggy and slower than XCode and then comes the Material Design which is half complete and buggy and poor optimization.
It's really interesting that folks who review Iphones, Androids, etc. NEVER talk about using the equipment as an actual TELEPHONE, i.e., speaker quality, location of speakers, loudness, clarity, etc. Sure they do a great job on text messages, emails, photos, calendar, etc. but how useful is the actual telephone. Maybe that's the problem, no one actually talks to anyone anymore???
I recently acquired an Iphone XS Max. I'm an avid iphone lover. The speaker quality is amazing on this phone! Pricey, yes. You get what you pay for. Never have I had any problems with the iphones i have had the pleasure of owning. I started out with the iphone 4S back in the day!!!!
If I wasn’t in Apples Eco System, I would’ve gotten a Note 9. I love everything about the Note 9 and I think it’s a much better phone than my iPhone Xs Max (I just upgraded from an iPhone 7 Plus). Don’t get it twisted though, my new iPhone Xs Max is beautiful and fast... the problem is there is no wow factor. After a day, it just felt like if I had my iPhone 7 Plus again. With all that being said, the iPhone Xs Max is really really really good, but not great and honestly pretty boring. Coming from an iPhone fan boy, the iPhone is becoming stale so I hope Apple starts to make some changes but overall I don’t regret my purchase but my advice if you’re not in the Apple Ecosystem the Note 9 is the way to go. It’s a lot better and cheaper... but not by much.
Yes. I agree with u. I am Apple fan boy to. But I am getting really bored tho. It’s all the same for high ass price. I pre ordered the note 9 my self. But I kept my iPhone X as my main line. I note 9 a lot. But it’s hard to let go of the iPhone after having them one since day the cane out. My whole family has a iPhone. So it’s hard.
I love Apple products and I still enjoy using my 7 Plus, but I cannot deny that since Steve Jobs died, Apple has been steadily losing it's "WHY". If you have ever seen Simon Sinek's "Start With Why" videos / book, he often used Apple as an example of a company that has a huge loyal following and great success because it's main focus is NOT the money, but challenging the status quo. Lately, Apple has been increasing prices and what they offer has not been proportional to those increases. It feels like they have changed their "why" from "challenging the status quo" to "pleasing our shareholders". It's a real shame. I won't be upgrading my 7 Plus any time soon, and when I do, it will be for a phone that I can pay in cash and actually do get enough value for money. If that was this year, I would choose the Note 9. Lets see what the future brings, but sadly, I am not expecting much from Apple anymore.
Chinh Phan he actually said “just don’t hold it that way” when he first heard the complaint, but was later persuaded that the issue was serious enough to do something(offer a free case, or return the iPhone for money back, which the majority didn’t want to do, anyway) Yes, he could be a selfish arse, but he also insisted on high standards. There’s a lot of stories from former engineers at apple of him driving them to produce what he expected. The attention to detail was insane, and customers generally appreciated that, and that’s why they could accept the fuck ups, or him saying stupid things. Jobs said a lot of things and then changed his mind when he thought the conditions were right. He was asked if they were making a phone. He said no way, and explained that the carriers had too much power, and other difficulties. Then a few years later, announced they were making the iPhone, and the carriers would not have any power to put bloatware on the iPhone. He mocked using a stylus, but I wold that if he were alive and saw how well stylus were being used as with modern software, he would have changed his mind again, but tried to bring a better experience to it. This is what he always tried to do. That apple of Steve jobs is much different from the apple of today, and it seems to me they are getting very greedy and creating a lot of bad feeling among their users which may come back to hurt them in the long term as more and more users switch. Apple may have finally reached a point where the majority of its customers will not accept any more nickel and diming.
Ya your little mind will get over it by next year. Stop acting as if you will do anything. Even if u did protest by not buying it, your pathetic work would mean nothing as it always does. Know why because Apple is bigger than your single purchase. Millions will buy over you making your purchase of even 500 iphones theoretically mean NOTHING. Get used to it, the markets are bigger then your little ape mind can imagine. P.S. can u tell me how such a simple realization for you made u feel? I need this data for a paper. For instance are u feeling worthless, or perhaps having an existential crisis about your life, etc etc stuff like that. Appreciate it :)
I’m a XS Max owner, and one who bought in February, 2019. I read reviews but I don’t buy near launch. I either buy on launch day or whenever I need the thing. At this point the iPhone 11 Pro is out which makes my phone no longer the latest and greatest. With its Smart Battery Case, the XS Max is a solid performer, and only now with Surface Duo coming out do I find anything else that I would have wanted.
Hello Michael, this was a solid review, as always. Too bad the included accessories are limiting, as a charger of that size is somewhat unacceptable but the phone looks to be a solid device and quite impressive for what it offers.
Living Dadly What isn’t being mentioned is that most people who are in the apple ecosystem likely have other Apple chargers and cables that have higher wattage is. For example I can use my 12 W iPad charging cable for my iPhone and it will charge faster than the included five white charger in the box. I didn’t have to buy that because I already had it from my iPad and it works just fine.
Matthew Swanson You know Matthew that is a valid point, and one that is very true in most cases. However it still would be a nice gesture on Apple’s part to reward brand loyalty by including a premium or at the very least upgraded range of accessories, especially as their phone prices slowly creep up in price. As so many are invested into their ecosystem, it would stand as a nice sign of good faith that Apple is looking out for their consumers. In addition, it is 2018/2019 this charger is long overdue for an upgrade.
I would say that the ecosystem around lightning is much stronger than it is on USB-C when it comes to phones. Lightning has been out for so long now and there’s a lot more accessories. USB-C doesn’t even have an audio standard yet so each manufacturer uses their own proprietary version. The only downside to lightning is the “same cord” thing he was talking about
People usually charge their phones overnight. So I’d love to know how many hours you sleep per night, if the 3hrs charge time is not long enough. However, if you have a need to charge your phone during the day, ie.for a quick top up, then you’re using the wrong phone!
This is the first time im posting a comment on youtube. Mr Mobile is the best mobile reviewer i have ever seen. The quality of editing and honesty is unparalleled. I stopped using pocketnow after u left. Well done

My Daddy just gave me one for my birthday today. This is gonna sound crazy but I'm apalled. It's going back to the store tomorrow and we're getting my papa's money back. I love that he would want to do this for me but the price tag is ludicrous. I'm just an ordinary person and have absolutely no need or desire for an iphone, especially a $1500 one...
This is the best iPhone review I have seen on the internet. I personally am very happy with my s9 (until the 10 comes out) and I'm happy with subscribing to this channel.
If you can't find any reason why people would like something then you never will. So don't ask questions you will never know why. You stay over there and like your shit and we will like ours. Simple. Now stop commenting about it
I love the feel of it, solid premium feel. But I'm not a fan of how rounded it is. And still can't get over the protruding camera. So I get what you mean.
Watching your video is no less enjoyable than watching a show. While many tech review videos out there are just...tech reviews, dumping information and opinions, yours are really different. It feels just like a short filmography, with lines and different scenes, which is entertaining and enjoyable. love you.
I looooove this phone, the XS Max. Coming from an 8 Plus I’m extremely impressed with this display and how it completely changes the way I use my phone. Best iPhone I’ve ever owned.
WAIT omfg for years I’ve had one of those big block chargers sitting in my closet while I’ve been using the generic block charger and it’s faster??? Wtf have I been doing omfg
SDOT what do you have now? Because I too had a Note 8 and switched to the iPhone XS Max. What I don’t like is that you are restricted on a phone that is yours.
The only reason iPhones hold their value is because you have no other options. Its iPhone or iPhone. Nothing in between! With android you can get a brand new phone at any price point. No need to buy someone's hand me downs!
Switched from a Note 8. Just a more premium device through and through. I urge you use the iPhone XS for a few months before you make your consensus. The A12 is a blistering fast chip.
My first time to your channel and I absolutely loved the quality of your videos. OMG, finally a tech that puts quality into their videos. I’m an artist so some things bother me when it comes to low quality.
@Reality Programmer for most things in life, you would rather have and need not, than to need and not have. Never say you don't need because you don't know.
I switched from the iPhone X to the Note 9 and I do miss my iPhone from time to time but than again.. things like playing RUclips in a small screen while typing a message in Messenger etc..? Yeah, I would miss that so bad when returning to iOS.. There isn't a doubt in my mind I will return to iOS next year when the new iPhone releases but for now I'm happy with my Note 9. She serves me well. Just wish the apps would look like the iOS counterpart more often, they really are more good looking and work better most of the time. Found myself using gestures from the iPhone on my Note too, sadly not working ofcourse. Gotta give the screen to the Note 9 tho, yes the iPhone has a beautiful screen but jezus, Samsung knows what it's doing... both are great smartphones and both have their own up and downs.
Well said! Phones are a terribly personal and therefore subjective choice: but like car purchases or clothes. They are becoming fashion statements in their own right. If you love iOS, then continue giving it love; and if you love Android then...just love it. That doesn’t mean the other systems don’t have strengths and things going for them - it just means you have found a system that fits YOU. And that’s a great thing, right?
This was so calming. I purchased the iPhone XR two weeks ago and am in love with it. I originally wanted this phone but could not afford it. 😭😖😢😣😔. This phone has a sleek , premium feel like no other. I’m grateful for my Xr. Happy new year and Jesus Christ bless you all
I really like your dramatic flair. It's not really just about how you appear on screen, but how you write your scripts. On screen, maybe it's also how you hold up to your puns. (Off comment for a phone review, but since it's phonetober I've been watching a lot of video reviews of these new phones, and I really enjoy watching your takes on them.)
Matty sopp I’m gonna put a down payment and pay off over time and with my phone carrier they don’t auto put it on your bill every month you are free to pay off how long you want as long as you do it before you leave
Matty sopp I’m confused.....?? I know not paying for the phone outright is a great way most American phone companies off that and the one I use offers it which is how I will be getting the Max
You know, that simple swipe back gesture is one of the best and most underrated iPhone features in my opinion. I really missed it when I first switched to android as with todays large phones, having reaching for buttons in the corner of the screen when using the phone one handed is absolutely horribly impractical. Luckily I managed to find an app for android that adds that functionality in.
Imo the xs max is as perfect as a device as u can get and iOS is just too fluid and polished not to use I love it and will never go back to Android but I do like the note 9 alot as well but iOS is mainly what keeps me with iPhone . Also the camera/videocamera on the xs max and a12 are insane
I like Mr Mobile but he forgot to mention a lot of key points. Is the 79 dollar fast charger really worth the hate. I have a phone that holds its resale value. Is supported with software for up to 5 years. My X still has one of the fastest processor on the market. I get award winning support. I get exclusive apps, software, movies and music. I get the ecosystem, so let’s quit this Apple gives you less by charging more nonsense.
One thing about the price: My friend has the Google Pixel 2 XL. He bought it for $900 last year... it is now worth $350. I bought an iPhone X for $1000 last year, and I just sold it for $700. Yes, you pay a premium upfront for iPhone, but you also get much more money back in return because they hold their value! iPhone ends up becoming the better deal, regardless!
The only reason iPhones hold their value is because you have no other options. Its iPhone or iPhone. Nothing in between! With android you can get a brand new phone at any price point. No need to buy someone's hand me downs!
I found it depends on what model one has. I just upgraded my 6S to the XS Max. Yeah, I'm slow, but hey, I got my money's worth outta the 6S, not worth much these days for trade-in. I'm not one to get a new phone every time an upgrade comes along. I LOVE my MAX!!!
I just got the Note 9 (F variant for $820, flashed the TMO CSC to get WiFi Calling and VoLTE). I didn't realize it had its own version of Face ID where it scans your irises and face at the same time and unlocks automatically, similar to the iPhone. I have to say it's pretty cool and also kind of convenient. Sometimes it gets there before my finger gets to the scanner. HOWEVER, I don't see it replacing me using my fingerprint sensor any time soon. With the sensor, I can unlock the phone while I'm still pulling it out of my pocket, so it's on the home screen and ready once I get it up to my face. No such option on the iPhone. Also, the A12 really isn't that much better than the A11. Both are very good, and so much better than the SD845, but there really isn't too much point in getting this year's iPhones unless you really want that big display on the Max.
I appreciate your perspective. It’s nice to hear from someone who is not an iPhone/apple lover but who still objective. There are so many people who are either pro apple or anti apple that are not objective and when you want a true review they are not helpful at all. Thank you.
Michael, your editing skills are amazing... The amount of dedication and work that you get into your videos are a real inspiration. Keep up the excellent work!!
My mom coming from an android to a iPhone and she loves it.She said it’s simple. We really didn’t have to help her much. When she had all her androids she always asked for help.So that can be a big reason why people still get iPhones
Just bought the iPhone XS Max and I am in love with it. I love Samsung’s I’ve owned a bunch over the years but I switched to iPhone because of 2 things, after a few months of use on the Samsung my phone would lag and be so slow unless I rebooted it, and after a few months after one or 2 small drops it would shatter the glass. I switched to the iPhone 7 Plus and have dropped it countless times and it has never cracked, and the whole time I’ve owned it it never lagged and always ran smooth. And upgrading to the iPhone XS Max has me in love. The display is beautiful. Every game and video I run looks amazing. I don’t know if you should upgrade from a iPhone X but if your thinking about upgrading from anything else I highly recommend it
Same here, been an android fan for 10 years. Switched from my essential phone with Android 10 to an iphone 7 plus to test. Decided to use it permanently.
9:20 drop tested 20 times. Meaning they fail on the 21st drop. Still pretty good, but thats a failure rate of nearly 5%. A more accurate slogan would be "We protect your phone around 95%"
When it comes to the customization in the IPhone, you could jailbreak it. It voids the warranty on the device but does give you more customization overall.
I keep coming back to apple for the keyboard and typing experience. I know you can download different keyboards to look like iOS, but it’s just not the same. I hated having to type the same thing 11 times on android before being able to send a message. Switched back to iOS and typing is easier than ever 👌🏼
People have over looked this, but it's a fact. Although, the nice response and swipe that Android keyboard has is nice, but there is something very special about the iOS keyboard for sure
I like iOS and I moved to Android for one mega reason... buy a 400GB SDXC card, download Poweramp and move your music to and from without any propriety BS. You want play that X265 encoded movie? No problem... just drag and drop it on there and use VLC. Just for this convenience Android is worth it.
This is why I bought the xs max in 2019, second hand. The prices of the iphones feel more justified when you get them a year later and second hand. It doesn't matter that you're buying last year's model because apple's chips and hardware tend to be a few generations ahead than the closest competition anyway. So the phone won't feel outdated next to most current gen android phones. It will only feel outdated when placed next to the 11 and 11 pro.
i love my iphone xs max (512GB Gold 💕✌️👌) i dont care about the price iphone always on the different level compare to android (just on my opinion) Sorry for my english i am asian 🙃
Who was using the 6S Plus ! They will feel how great iOS bring to ! iPhone Xs Max will be the big upgrade for them ! Look at Note5 , looks more beautiful but GPU is never beat the iPhone GPU and games

The music is just better on the iPhone of course soon as he play the settings it is perfect but for Android music soon as he play with the settings again it drops down to 5% that turns down the volume what's up with that and it's been on Android phones for many years and it's very annoying

The answer is simple: iOS.... I was an android user my whole life then I started using an iPhone and I love it for that reason.
I just don't like ios. I've tried it. I have an old 5s that I play around with, but it feels too limiting compared to android.
@Sharmein Alireza no that's not the reason. It's on ios 12. Still feels too limiting. I can't set default apps.
That's why I loved the Mi Mix 2S so much even though MIUI feels like an IOS clone. Was the best Android experience for me. Buttons feel outdated.

Exactly....... I recently switched to iPhone it’s smooth and all but doesn’t justify the price point
Wait... doesn’t everything eventually elevate in price?
Thats the truth that Android users dont understand. The software is what makes Apple. Not the phone.
The 5, 5T and 6 have been beautiful devices, though also
~slowly~ creeping up in prices.

android doesn't get that much added feature updates anymore coz it's already there, just some tweaks and security patches!
i use both platforms btw and ios is still way behind in terms of funcionality.
I'll be honest. I loved Samsung but after having the phones for a year, they started to become sluggish. Battery life was horrible. And security is questionable.
That happened to my iPhone too . So not a problem .
Not anyone you probably bought a Samsung 5 years ago.
ronny Brown but why should you have to do all that just to keep your phone from not slowing down? You shouldn’t have to do that after paying so much money for a smartphone.

I switched about six months ago, and the quick software update was incredible. Had a galaxy phone for two years and not one update.
Ronald Nyandoro having had Samsung phones in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised if you never got Android 9.0 on your phone. They like to drop support out of nowhere. This was a huge part of me leaving that ecosystem for iOS
That's something I like about Apple. But there are some conspiracies out there which say that Apple gives software updates to slow down old devices.
I hope they keep putting out great products, I’ll keep buying them
Simple answer to why people buy iPhone: iOS
for me it's opposite, the only reason I don't like iPhone is iOS,
I am a developer, writing an app for iOS is a pain in the ass, Apple always forcing you to use their solutions, and god forbid if there is new standard API and you want to use it in iOS, it takes them couple years to just consider adding that API!
I have been an Android user from version 1.6, the early versions of Android weren't that good (actually they were awful), but now Android is evolved.
Android is better than iOS in every aspect.
In spite of all the stupid stuff they do, I haven't had any issues with them.
Ali Reza so you don’t use Xcode?
You sure you in app development ??
Cause I'm pretty sure that developing for iOS is alot better than Android.
I'm a developer too.
And the major reason for all.
Android Studio works better on MacOS
and yet very buggy and slower than XCode
and then comes the Material Design which is half complete and buggy
and poor optimization.
@@xali2008 you ain't no developer stfu lol
It's really interesting that folks who review Iphones, Androids, etc. NEVER talk about using the equipment as an actual TELEPHONE, i.e., speaker quality, location of speakers, loudness, clarity, etc. Sure they do a great job on text messages, emails, photos, calendar, etc. but how useful is the actual telephone. Maybe that's the problem, no one actually talks to anyone anymore???
Last time I heard about earpiece quality was a couple years ago lol
Unboxing therapy does a good job talking about the display pixel quality and sound.
No one calls anymore lol
I recently acquired an Iphone XS Max. I'm an avid iphone lover. The speaker quality is amazing on this phone! Pricey, yes. You get what you pay for. Never have I had any problems with the iphones i have had the pleasure of owning. I started out with the iphone 4S back in the day!!!!
I don't mind that Apple did away with the headphone port. Was no inconvenience to me!
Alfonso Uribe yes
Then maybe Apple really isn't for you. I like simplicity in my smartphones
The ecosystem is easy to get out and theres a better one out there. Trust me I've been in apple eco system for 8yrs. Now note9 and its amazing
Same issue with my friend who upgraded from 6S, he stopped even looking at the new phone just after an hour. It's just same.
@Ferry Gunadi the iPhonr XR costs $50 more than the iPhone 8 plus.
Chinh Phan lol I remember that too
@Chinh Phan He gave no fucks, he also gave us the smartphone, mouse, GUI, and brought design to computing, and keynotes, he changed the world.
Can I have the leftovers

You know Matthew that is a valid point, and one that is very true in most cases.

"there value"??? How about THEIR value?
SDOT what do you have now? Because I too had a Note 8 and switched to the iPhone XS Max. What I don’t like is that you are restricted on a phone that is yours.
The only reason iPhones hold their value is because you have no other options. Its iPhone or iPhone. Nothing in between! With android you can get a brand new phone at any price point. No need to buy someone's hand me downs!
Maxim Lyons - iPhone 7+ goes for around 400 online
Maxim Lyons - Ive also seen the iPhone 6 go for 200 dollars USED

That has finally got solved after 5 years 😂
We lost the in-box charging brick though!
Switched from a Note 8. Just a more premium device through and through. I urge you use the iPhone XS for a few months before you make your consensus. The A12 is a blistering fast chip.
Dr Hassan Owned the XS Max for two weeks. Switched to Note 9.
Speed isn't the only thing that matters
Your videos are great, there is rarely ever any bias and you only state facts and your problems and issues. Keep it up.
Great review loving my iPhone X Jamaica Land We Love 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
My first time to your channel and I absolutely loved the quality of your videos. OMG, finally a tech that puts quality into their videos. I’m an artist so some things bother me when it comes to low quality.
I like apple's blur effect. It's amazing to look at.
Awesome review, just ordered my XSMax and I am glad I did after seeing your honest review. Thanks and keep them coming, by the way I clicked subscribe
Literally Tony Stark reviewing phones... what rabbit hole have I gone down? I can't stop watching... dude just tells it like it is. Subbed
It's insulting that they even offer a 64g model just to sell you a more expensive version
@Reality Programmer for most things in life, you would rather have and need not, than to need and not have. Never say you don't need because you don't know.
Then why don't we put 1TB NVMe NANDs in our phones? @@fordawin7811
John Doe 64 would be ok if they had micro sd card slot
I always love your candor, Michael! Keep up the great work buddy!
Still have mine and I love it... may upgrade to new one but not all that eager to let this one go.
One Ui is gonna get a few basic gestures. It comes to the Note 9 in February
Watching on xs max 😎🥳📱

Alex Glavascu nice
Note 9 here

Iv got mine coming today. Iv always had Samsung and I'm very nervous about changing. I hope I don't regret it.
Most people don't buy their phones outright, if it's on a contract it can be affordable at a monthly cost.
Matty sopp I’m gonna put a down payment and pay off over time and with my phone carrier they don’t auto put it on your bill every month you are free to pay off how long you want as long as you do it before you leave
Jordy & Alex I’m guessing you’re not in the UK 🇬🇧 as that’s a great way to pay for it!
Matty sopp I’m confused.....?? I know not paying for the phone outright is a great way most American phone companies off that and the one I use offers it which is how I will be getting the Max
i never buy phone via contract. always cash. If you can't afford simply don't make a debt. it just a phone.
nazrin maskam debt isn’t always a bad thing, just bad debt is a bad thing.
Also the camera/videocamera on the xs max and a12 are insane
iOS is just much more polished, much more fluid than android.
Vas Kount well 48 MP doesn't translate to better video recording quality. Xiaomi, lags on that.

John Patrick Juan it was sarcasm *facepalm*
BS! Who would pay $700 for a used iphone x at this time?
The only reason iPhones hold their value is because you have no other options. Its iPhone or iPhone. Nothing in between! With android you can get a brand new phone at any price point. No need to buy someone's hand me downs!
hilltoppers555 - People who dont like XR but still want a cheaper modern iphone
I found it depends on what model one has. I just upgraded my 6S to the XS Max. Yeah, I'm slow, but hey, I got my money's worth outta the 6S, not worth much these days for trade-in. I'm not one to get a new phone every time an upgrade comes along. I LOVE my MAX!!!
You are a mixture of Robert Downey Jr. and David Beckham 😅😎
An excellent review btw 🤗
The phone that does not charge with no reason.
Both are very good, and so much better than the SD845, but there really isn't too much point in getting this year's iPhones unless you really want that big display on the Max.
zacharee100 did you have to root the phone to flash the T-Mobile csc?
I appreciate your perspective. It’s nice to hear from someone who is not an iPhone/apple lover but who still objective. There are so many people who are either pro apple or anti apple that are not objective and when you want a true review they are not helpful at all. Thank you.
Michael, your editing skills are amazing... The amount of dedication and work that you get into your videos are a real inspiration. Keep up the excellent work!!
Its 3:30 a.m. in India and I think now I should go to sleep, good night. Love your video 😍

Brilliant phone absolutely love it , will probably keep it for 2 years
9:20 drop tested 20 times. Meaning they fail on the 21st drop. Still pretty good, but thats a failure rate of nearly 5%. A more accurate slogan would be "We protect your phone around 95%"
Im a die hard Apple fan and even I dont understand why I keep wanting an Iphone lol.
Janina Neven me too! I’ve been iPhone for like 8years but I just preordered the note 10+ I’m gonna try it out for a bit an see if I miss IOS
Bria Dillingham did you miss iOS
Me too! Like I low key really wanna get the google pixel 4a, but of course I got the new iPhone SE even though I’m not a huge fan of iOS
Apple should just avoid taxes like amazon does, to lower the price
When it comes to the customization in the IPhone, you could jailbreak it. It voids the warranty on the device but does give you more customization overall.
got a tech21 case myself, i gotta say im pleasantly surprise how nice and durable(so far) it is.
310Sole I’ve always had great luck with them
I’ve always loved your content man, I’ve been watching you for years and everything you put out is so informative and enjoyable. Thank you!
Why I got this video recommendation when we are waiting for iPhone 15
Android : bunch of phone , bunch of features , bunch of choice
iOS : one ecosystem , not too much features , but a lot of value over time !
Nothing screams value like having very little choice and features
doyle white more features does not mean a better phone. A lot of features on Android are just useless
@@Tullymastully oh ya those animojis or whatever they're called are just a must have right?
@Bob Jones are you speaking to 1 person? Cos mine doesn't do that
Do not mistake the absence of choice for an abundance of value.
And name one feature on Android (stock) that is useless.
A good, fair review. Keep up the good work.
you are the best mobile reviewer ever!!!!!
I find myself to be using Swiftkey even on the iPhone.
I like iOS and I moved to Android for one mega reason... buy a 400GB SDXC card, download Poweramp and move your music to and from without any propriety BS. You want play that X265 encoded movie? No problem... just drag and drop it on there and use VLC. Just for this convenience Android is worth it.
Opposite for me Android was so annoying trying to let me access the microphone on a app iOS just let me do it in 3 taps
Some people like having more customization options and others just want the phone to decide everything for them
That is so annoying on iPhone. But the 512GB option at least has enough storage memory.
@@SN-mw7hp Well I guess it's a solution if you have a small loan of a million dollars
I have had an s5, note 5, and now a note 8, I'm thinking about trying out apple again.
U should totally move back to Apple
Dont
i love my iphone xs max (512GB Gold 💕✌️👌)
i dont care about the price
iphone always on the different level compare to android (just on my opinion)
Sorry for my english i am asian 🙃
Kadek Saputra nice same phone here
Why do you compare hardware (iPhone) to software (Android)? That does't make any sense
I don't ever comment on phone reviews but you addressed a lot of details that I appreciated. Nice review
Who was using the 6S Plus ! They will feel how great iOS bring to ! iPhone Xs Max will be the big upgrade for them ! Look at Note5 , looks more beautiful but GPU is never beat the iPhone GPU and games
"is never beat"... What a fantastic English!
