    Gettin personal in today's vlog. Apologies for those uninterested in non-motorcycle related vids, but I promise these won't be common, just got some stuff on my mind and figured, who better to talk about it with than all of the people I chat with every week?

    Been there and can only advise: continue to do what you're doing. Be aware of all pros & cons as best you can and try to make your decision.

    There are definitely some good pros and cons to each but at the end of the day its all about whats best for you. What makes you the most happy and makes life enjoyable. Would you ever consider trying it out and if you really don't like it moving back? It's not like your tied down and have a ton of obligations to stay, well I can't say if you do or not but you're young, trying it out is always and option.

    I was born and raised in Texas, it is my home and I love it here. People tell me to move to Cali and I tell them I would visit, but not move there for all the reasons you stated. However, it would be nice to see Baker / Nosity vid.
    If Cali is where the opportunity is for more money and that's what you want, GO FOR IT! if not, don't waste time finding a different opportunity at home. You have to do what you have to do to get where you want to go! Good luck and best of wishes!

    I just my first motorcycle, a Yamaha Vstar 650, last week on Friday and I've put on over 330 miles on it. I'm from Cali and there are parts that I love and other parts that I don't, and I've lived and worked in Texas. Mostly west Texas but pretty much all over: Laredo, El Paso, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and whole bunch of small oil towns. I absolutely love Texas and remember enjoying the zero state income tax. For the exact same reasons you listed, I had a hard time coming back to California but it's home, so I'm back now. Maybe you should just come to Cali for one year and see how it works out. You have a lot to say about moving to Cali. Just do it and when you want to, go back to Texas. Then afterwards, it won't be a discussion in your mind.

    In Quebec, Canada, we actualy have a first tax of 5% and an additionnal 9.98% tax (on the total of the sum of the original price plus the first tax). So something worth $100 costs $114.98. Makes me quite mad sometimes considering that most of those tax revenues (and the salary tax) are given to other provinces.

    Since you think about it so much, I feel, personally, that means you want to do what you think a lot about. I know whenever I always think about something, no matter the cons, usually the pros outweigh them, and if you can't stop thinking about your decision, I say you go for it and take risks. I live in California, but in Northern California. It's not bad, just depends what you're looking for. I personally grew up here, but I highly doubt I will live here, or even in this country.

    Friendships come and go. And if your friendship is true you will find away to make it work. But if moving to a different state can help you better yourself in a job that you love I think you should give it a try. And if you really don't like it in California nothing is stopping from moving back to Texas. Just do what you feel is right my dude. All support

    Moved to Austin 5 yrs ago from Cali, I totally miss the scenery, weather (no humidity and wind) and places to ride. Mostly miss my family, which is probably what will take us back eventually. My Dad says not to come back because of all the stupid LAWS, taxes and gas prices. I feel your tough decision.

    California does have lane splitting... But I'd say if the beneficial factors of California don't out weigh Texas and if you're happy now, don't change what's working good for you. If it can work better for you in California, eg. pay, social opportunities, factor of living, etc., then you should go for it.
    I live in Texas and it's a fantastic place to live, plenty to do, plenty of cities to travel to/move to, so many opportunities.
    Just choose what's best for you.

  • @dogfrobbull
    @dogfrobbull 11 лет назад

    Well like you said you have to weigh the pros and cons. You would make more money but not from the start right? Don't forget the cost of moving out there, food and fuel prices as well. If were you are provides enough for you then why move? Make more money pay more taxes live in more congested city life and deal with a whole new style of living. Not saying its a bad place to be but i don't think its the best move yet. My advice is to look at who you would leave behind at home vs there.

    I answer your question with another question. do you really need/want to take the leap? I think this doubt of yours came because your friends are making those decisions to go to another places, get new experiences etc and that makes you question if you have to do it as well. I don't know if i'm making any sense lol but i think if nothing had changed in your work place this doubt didn't exist. you got to ask yourself which is the best way for you. Good luck Moto!!

    Iile hearing about this kinda stuff. I personally just got out of college, am looking for a job, (engineering major), and i kinda dont care where i get to live next. I see it as you may as well travel while youre young and dont settle down too quickly. I live in PA, and i heard most cities in texas are awesome for college age kids to move to. Let me know if ur in engineering and hook me up with an interview for your company! Haha great vid

    @Motonosity i dont see anything bad with personal topics and i believe you should upload some more if you feel like it...i guess it would eventually be boring if it was all bike talk...anyway, i am really interested to know what you do for a living, since i really cant imagine what it would be, based on how you described it.As far as moving goes, i guess that you know best what works for you and if you should do it or not :)

  • @DearMajesty
    @DearMajesty 11 лет назад

    Hey Motonosity, I think you should try the california thing. The cons you mentioned honestly did not seem like such terrible things. Culture and vibes will be different definitely, but I don't see how government can be seriously such a big deal in your decision to move. Yes government and bureacracy and and taxes here are annoying, but unless you're really into politics and activism it wont take up your life. If you're super happy where you are in Texas than just stay there man

    Motovlogger in California, it sucks ass here in my personal opinion
    Taxes, government and really stringent gun laws(depending what side of gun control you're on)
    Only thing I like is lane splitting :)

  • @0foxgiven

    I moved from Dallas to norcal and I'm loving every moment! I personally have not regretted that decision even once, yes there are more taxes and some shitty people here but the paychecks are so much fatter :D
    I'm not gonna say you should move, because I moved here because I didn't enjoy the company of Texans (no offense to you) and that's honestly the most important thing! If the people and the other surroundings annoy you, life gets very hard to live!
    (but we can lanesplit :D)

  • @DearMajesty
    @DearMajesty 11 лет назад

    If not or you just wanna try something new why not come and try out California? If you don't like it you can always move back. We can split lanes here too! There's like 5 tracks within 50 miles of me. The moto community here is the bomb

    Moto I would say in the case of the friendships you ARE being a bit selfish. I would agree that taxes and stuff is outrageous here. Quick side note, if you do end up coming here, do NOT live in Los Angeles. You will regret it. Not a good idea especially if you have kids. At least not in the CITY. Live in Burbank or sumthin but not LA

    I hate you for this vlog, no one wants to hear you wine. Just had to say that since you hoped no one would. It is nice to hear vlogs that get personal sometimes and you can get good advice and support being talking and asking questions. If someone gets mad at this vlog then you don't need them as a sub. I think in the long run you will be better off staying there, since that is home. And with people leaving to go to Cali that should open up room to move up in the company there for you right?
