You don't need the app or the stand, just the pressure sensor. It's not hard to know whether you've brushed all your teeth or not, but maintaining the correct pressure is more of a challenge which the brush can deal with alone.
Had the io 9 for almost two years and it's absolutely not worth the upgrade. I've used it with P20 Pro, p30 pro and iPhone 11 pro max. And for the longest period it worked by far the best with the iPhone. It couldn't really track what you were brushing on android, just seemed random. I thought this was user error but not long ago, the app got an upgrade and that improved the tracking HUGELY on android. It actually tracks where you're brushing pretty good now.
Valuable info! Didn’t realize there could be such a big difference in functionality of the app depending on the operating system of the phone. Good thing they’ve seemed to have sorted that out now for Android.
@@TechNovelTies I know that many (I think most) apps are ios-optimized but I was not ready for what a massive difference one single update to the app would make.
Just got the Series 9 and I have no regrets! It really feels like I’ve just done a prophylaxis from my dentist after every use. The charging clock hub thingy wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. I don’t have a plug near my washbasin anyways so I charge my electric toothbrushes on my bed side table.
I just got this brush today and could not get it to connect to the app. Customer service couldn't either. I watched your video and I'm all set THANK YOU!!!!!
This product seems both effective and efficient with its awesome charging system and even better clean. Thanks for sharing this awesome new electric toothbrush!
Awesome overview! Very nice walkthrough of the features and setup. :) For me, I don't like to need to unlock my smart phone and open the app before brushing, so the charging stand is nice. Plus the clock time on the display is really convenient in the bathroom. Also, its worth noting that the iO Sense will work with iO7, 8, and 9 handles as well. But they dont offer the charger on its own right now unfortunately.
Thank you very much Christopher!😃 Without the app I can see why you like the charging stand with the coverage setting. And the clock is a nice extra indeed. Didn’t know about the iO Sense also being compatible with the 7, 8 and 9. That’s some valuable information. Thanks!👍
@@chrisrose708 Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I tested the charger with the other iO models and found it worked. But now I can be assured of compatibility. Do you work for Oral-B or an external company? I have some feedback on the app and the coverage. 😊
I have a series 7 and never use the Bluetooth and tracking. If you already have a brushing routine that is at least 2 minutes like me then the timer is pointless. Plus if you then clean it while running it adds time so the recorded time is inaccurate anyway. The tracking lags on all models or so I'm told so it's better to just develop a routine and you will never use the connected features. The best features are present on most models . Mainly a truly usable pressure sensor are on ask models (unlike others brushes that only trigger when pressing a ridiculous amount.), a sensitive mode, and a display showing the modes (on series 5 and up). If you don't need a super sensitive option found on the series 8, 9 and 10 then just go with the series 5. The only thing missing is the magnetic charging which mean's a little extra cleaning on the bottom of the brush.
Thank you for this video. It helped me decide which one of the two to buy. Interestingly, in my country the reviews and ranking of the io9 are higher than the ones of io10. In addition, the price point for io9 is 406$ whereas the price of io10 is cheaper - 330$. I also came accross malfunction complaints of the io10, so I decided to go for the io9.
Thanks for sharing this video. I recently purchased the series 9 from Amazon during their fire sale. I was curious if the series 10, which comes with an additional ridiculous amount of hundreds of dollars, would enhance the toothbrush’s quality. However, it doesn’t seem to make a significant difference. Thanks again, my friend. 💯
I just bought the Oral-B iO 10 for 308 euro. I think your review is spot on. That case feels really cheap, and is difficult to open. Putting the brush on the stand should be more stable. Other than that, it does work really well.
Thanks @Frank V! Indeed, the case is also difficult to open. Totally forgot to mention that!🙈 Isn’t it incredible that it can drop almost €250 in price?! Good for you though!😄
I do not have a power socket in my bathroom. Having a charging base with the fixed cable seems a bit off(that is for the 9), especially if you cant take off the cable and keep the base as it is just to keep the brush on it, as a stand. This isnt possible, right? For the 10, does the base work(charge, etc) without the cable on?
Unfortunately detaching the charging cable is not possible with the iO9 charging stand. You can detach it from the iO10 but then it will be completely switched off, so no functionality whatsoever. Hope that answers your question!
$540 USD for a fancy charging stand that still doesn't correct the weak magnetic hold? I paid $200 USD and got the IO 9 on sale 4 months ago and just charge the brush out of the way on the shelf under my night stand. Thanks for being so upfront about how little you truly get with the IO 10 instead of being overly hyped about a new piece of tech.
You’re welcome, I’ll always try to stay critical of tech novelties. Nice to know that’s being appreciated! And totally agree with you about the stand. I don’t even have a safe space in my bedroom so I actually charge my iO9 in the travel case every time it runs out of battery. For that kind of money, that’s pretty crazy!
Yeah I completely agree @k_while9497. I got the 9 for £185 today in a nice blue colour and it’s a no brainer especially after watching this video. It’s like an extra £250 for a charger that that does a worse job than the app and is also useless if you don’t have somewhere to plug it into in your bathroom. It’s just a gimmick. Thanks for your honest and informative video.
After watching your comprehensive review I canceled my Amazon order. The main reason is its flimsiness. I can just imagine knocking it to the floor easily. Thanks for saving me a hassle. Great video!
Hey, thanks for chiming in! I was kinda hoping they'd drop a charger stand that's also a power bank, compatible with all iOS devices. Imagine not having to stick the charger in the wall all the time but only once every fortnight. Plus, how cool would it be if they made one with a USB end? Talk about energy saving!
I have switched from the Genius 9000N to the iO 10. Main reason was the iO Sense charging station, because it displays the remaining brushing time, the tooth coverage, and a clock when not in use. Furthermore, it comes with WiFi. I expected that the iO 10 is able of transmitting its data via WiFi to the App on my iPhone after I have started the App. However, this does not happen. Before transmitting the data, you allways have to activate the brush itself so that it can transmit its data via BT. This is somewhat disappointing. For instance, I own a Withings Body+ scale, which exactly works this way. I can measure my weight every day. The scale saves the respected data within its own memory and after starting the App, they are automatically transmitted. Why doesn't the iO Sense station have such a build in memory for saving the data of the brush and automatically transmitting them via WiFi to the App after starting it? In addition, I wonder why only the brushing process with direct usage of the App is marked as guided. This also should be the case when using the iOsense station with its coverage function. However, regardless of using the brush alone or in combination with the iO Sense station, the brushing process is allways marked as unguided. I don't want to use my iPhone all the time when brushing my teeth. That's why I bought the iO 10 with its iO Sense station. By the way, I have payed 300 Euros for the iO 10, because has been a cash back action here in Germany. This price is still very high for a tooth brush. 600 Euros is absolutely too much for it. Even without the constraints mentioned above.
Thank you very much for your elaborate comment! I should have contacted you before making this video!😄 Didn’t know about the synchronization issue. Good information for everybody interested in the iO 10!👍
Nice review! The iOSense does store all brushing session data. And publish "Guided" data on its own without the app. It needs to be set up with account info in addition to Wi-Fi so it is authenticated to connect to the cloud. This is part of the normal provisioning process when setting up with the app. You could try to reprovision your base with the app and make sure to log in to your account in the Oral-B app during that process. The charger has 3 usage modes: - Unconnected - Wi-Fi only - Wi-Fi + Cloud The last is required for sending guided session data, state, and logs. And requires logging into your account in the app, so the app can initially send that info to the charger over BT.
@@chrisrose708 Thank you very much for your information. Hence, something must be wrong within my setup. I will retry the WiFi+Cloud connection and test it again. Currenty, the Oral-B App says that I am locked in with my account. In addition, it says that the iO Sense is conneted via WiFi (it displays the correct time) while the iO toothbrush is only connected via BT when in use. Hence, data are only transmitted to the App when the brush itself has a BT connection to my iPhone and when the App is opened. Perhaps, somethin went wrong due to my former Genius 9000N BT connection. I don't know.
@@ThorstenP. Its a little complicated how the data syncing works. Both the iOSense and the Oral-B app are made to work independently with the toothbrush (connect via BT and send the data to the cloud). The app will always win the connection unless a brushing session is actively taking place with the charger. If the iOSense hasnt connected to the cloud to transmit the data, and the app is opened it will sync all data from the toothbrush to the cloud, and mark sessions as 'Unguided'. Later, if the iOSense is connected it should upload its session, and the app will sync those and "upgrade" those sessions to Guided with the data sent from the charger. The app tries to simplify the information since it is consumer-facing, so it is difficult to tell if the charger is connected to the cloud or not.
@MattH Thanks for watching! It has to be constantly plugged in to be able to charge the tootbrush. And indeed, in case your bathroom doesn’t have a socket, you’ll have to charge it elsewhere, making the iO10 charging stand quite useless.
@@TechNovelTies Gosh that’s Absolutely ridiculous! I thought you could charge the stand so you could pop it in your bathroom to show time and give progress etc, but no… I don’t have a damn socket in bathroom!
I bought the io 10 thinking the price would mean more quality and now I feel like a fool. Most annoying thing: app does not correctly detect the brushing. I find myself more concerned about the app tracking than about the brushing itself.
I can relate to that! I didn’t have a lot of time to test the iO10, but I did feel tracking was ‘off’ more than when using the iO9. Which is actually pretty weird, since both toothbrushes appear to be technically identical🤔
Prices of things are getting out of hands. These prices are completely ridiculous and disconnected from the true price that these things should be at. I really hope no one's gonna pay for these. We need to make these companies understand that enough is enough
@boe dilllard Hi! @Christopher Rose mentioned it's compatible with models 7, 8 and 9. He knows much more about it than I do😀 This link will take you to the video but now with his comment on top. There you can find your answer: ruclips.net/video/zPMEP3Jphng/видео.html&lc=UgxR24sqmNvB7Ktdet54AaABAg Thanks for watching!
A real down to earth honest review. I currently own the 9 and remember buying this on launch day and paying launch day price and launch day price for the replacement heads I bagged a sweet bargain as I was shocked months later how expensive it is and even today just for two replacements heads at £54.00 I picked up 4 replacements heads for £4.00 on launch day at those prices you bet I’m stocking up thanks boots. After watching this review totally agree with you. Stick with the 9 good bit of kit expensive replacement heads tho
@Anthony p Very, very good point! Funny how you’ve exactly pinpointed the part that I eventually left out of the video, which I probably shouldn’t have! When editing the video I originally said the iO brush heads were about twice as expensive as the regular ones, yet when I was looking for some additional footage at Oral B’s webshop to back that information, they were for sale at about a quarter of the price! So indeed, seeing how often and by what margin Oral-B prices change, it’s absolutely worth waiting for a good deal and to stack up when that happens! Thank you very much for your comment, it’s valuable information for others!😃👍
@@TechNovelTies your welcome. Also I forgot to mention when this new version goes on sale wherever you live you may get free 2 brush heads no travel case or in different part or the world 1 brush head and travel case. I remember I got the travel case a 1 brush head and that brush holder while in Canada they had 4 brush heads and travel case no holder And this is my second toothbrush i previously had the rose gold and that had loads of brush heads and it was way cheaper to replace the heads. So no I won’t be upgrading to 10. Hope it helps anyone buying into the oral B brand
Nice and honest video - congrats. Does this use the classic oral b brushes? I have an quite older model with BT etc and I am curious whether the existing brushes are compatible. Many thanks!
Thank you for your kind words! This model only uses special iO Series brushes. So I’m sorry to say existing, classic brushes won’t be compatible. Hope this answered your question. Take care!
@Samyr Thanks for watching and good question! It both vibrates and oscillates. But not at a 180 degrees, just between 40-45 degrees. I’ve double checked it by taking off the brush head and see how far it rotates. Hope that answers your question!
Indeed, it transfers data back to the app. I’ve also read @ElectricTeeth that if not connected to wifi, it will not show the clock on the charging stand. I haven’t tested this myself though
Yep. Wi-Fi is needed to show the clock time on the charger, and also download new firmware images. It can be used without Wi-Fi however just fine. It will store up to 2 years of brushing sessions, and send the data if ever set up.
@@chrisrose708 As mentioned above, the transfer of stored data from the iO Sense to the App via WiFi does currently not work with my. Hence, something must be wrong within my setup, altought I have a working online account. Hence, I will have to try the WiFi+Cloud connection again.
I just got the Series 8 for a steal on a times Amazon Black Friday deal, £134. And I find the app is great. Not sure I’d use this stand over the app I have to say. I do think the battery life could be better though.
@marksapollo Good for you man! I’ve been using the app for a couple of months now and I prefer not to brush without it anymore. There are also people who really don’t like the app, which I can understand if it doesn’t accurately follow your movement. And I agree on the battery life. I don’t charge it on the stand, so about every 1,5-2 weeks I have to completely recharge it.
Can you use this without the app, minimal tech? I just want to brush simply with a good clean (settings on the toothbrush itself). Then every few weeks charge it.
Yes, that’s definitely possible! You might consider going for a lower version of the iO Series though, because it’s mostly the 3D teeth tracking, the app, and the iO Sense charging station which makes it different and more expensive than the iO Series 8 or lower. Thank you for watching and good luck with your decision!
I am using philips toothbrush I am curious that does different model of oral b (e.g. io6, io9, io10) have difference in oscillating frequencies / cleaning power like the philips? Or there are only differences in terms of functionality, such as modes, colour led monitor, charging speed, etc?
@Eric Lai Thank you for watching. I don’t think there are differences in oscillating frequencies or cleaning power between the different iO models. You can always ask @JonLove from www.electricteeth.com. to be sure. He’s an expert and will definitely have the answer.
Question about the different cleaning modes the brush has. Intense and sensitive seem self explanatory with how fast the brush spins, but what about the mode whiten? What's so different about it since the other modes are designed to clean your teeth so therefor get them white regardless. But to have a dedicated mode called that would make you assume the whiten mode is somehow better at doing it.
@NYC_Goody Very good question. I think it’s quite confusing. Every mode uses a different range of oscillations, pulsations and oscillation angles. Whitening for example uses a sweeping angle instead of a static one, like daily clean. My best guess is that it enhances stain removal. But to be honest, I don’t think it makes much of a difference or that it’s going to make your teeth whiter than the other modes.
I prefer using the iO series, but I’m not sure it actually cleans better. If you want to know more about it, I recommend visiting www.electricteeth.com, lot’s of information there!
That’s a really good question! I didn’t test this, so I’m not a 100% sure. It doesn’t seem to be compatible. When I look online for a replacement docking station for the io9, it says it’s compatible with the io7 and io8 as well. But nothing about the io10. Sorry I couldn’t give you a conclusive answer. Next time I make a toothbrush comparison video, I’ll make sure to test that as well. So thanks for the tip!😃👍
@Andrew G. T It does. Haven’t tested this myself though. Christopher Rose, a P&G employee left a comment saying the charging stand is compatible with the iO7, iO8 and iO9.

@@TechNovelTies one question is it a problem once the toothbrush is fully charged to keep on the base all these hours won’t that damage the internal battery on the toothbrush just wish we were able to charge it and put it in the bathroom sink without all these wires it looks like a science experiment in my bathroom now i have 2 io10 plus my Gillette heated razor ive had for about 4 years that i love technology is my weakness. 😊💁♂️💯⚡️
@@alexbia5689 Haha, looks like we’ve got the same problem😂 And that’s a good question you’re asking. But I’m afraid I don’t have a definitive answer for you. There are different opinions about this on the internet. Personally, I leave it on the stand as I don’t think it really matters what you do. I found something else though. Strangely enough, updating the app can also affect battery performance. This is from Oral-B’s website: ”For the best experience with the Oral B iO toothbrushes we strongly recommend downloading and update for free the Oral B App on your phones. This will also help keeping the toothbrush software up to date, which can also improve battery performance. Download the free App on AppStore or Google Play (depending on your mobile device), connect your toothbrush and you will be guided through the Update process.” Good luck with your cable managment in the bathroom😄👍
its 280 euros right now so i got one. actually i need one my teeth are full of plaque and stone with my old oral b. it's the same price a the io 9. i'go for the 10. i need it.

Hello, someone know about how many percentage of the battery consume each use the oral b io 9? I have it but it consume me 6 or 5% each time l use, I just want to know if it’s normal or no?
@jesusguerrero5996 That sounds about right. Oral-b claims battery life should be about 2 weeks. 5 or 6% each time you use it will even make it last longer than that. Be aware though that battery efficiency will eventually get worse over time. Hope that answers your question!
Hello! Love the video! I’m new to iO series and looking forward for the 10 as I do have a socket in my bathroom luckily. Black version with that galaxy vibe looks slightly better than the white as the white looks like dirty specks of dirt. Besides the color, does the stand provide real time or just a timer for duration of brush session? Could we also change the color of the numbers of the stand? Also on Amazon I see iO 10 with multiple brush replacements inside the package, why is this not the case for this? (Are there different various bundles now?) sorry for the hoard of questions!
@VaczyNation Thank you for watching! And for your questions👍😃 the stand functions both as a clock and a timer. To my knowledge, the color of the numbers can not be changed. Oral-b sells different bundles all over the world. I’m from the Netherlands so I unboxed the European version in this video. So it really depends on where you buy it. Hope that answers your questions!
What is the difference between Oral B iO 9 and Oral B iO 9s? They look identical, but iO 9s version is much cheaper than iO 9. I don't understand how they are different from each other.
@EugeneBurmaka To my knowledge there’s no difference in the brush itself. Sometimes it comes with a premium or limited edition travel case. Or it comes with a different brush head holder (iO9s vs iO9n) or a different amount of brush heads. To add to that confusion, Oral-B prices seem to be a bit of a mistery and fluctuating a lot. So, all you can really do when comparing them, is try not to get fooled by all these suttle differences. Hope this helps you a little bit!
@Eric Perry Thanks for watching! Christopher Rose, an Oral-B developer commented on this video that it's possible indeed. Here's a link to the same video, but with Christopher Rose's comment on top rb.gy/ofj2qf. Jon Love from electricteeth.com also replied to him, so maybe you can ask them directly, just to be sure. Hope that answers your question!
HELP! My io9 won't turn on. I unboxed it, left it to charge for an hour or so, and it won't turn on. I tried pressing it longer, but it still won't turn on. I tried charging it in its case and it still won't turn on.
That sucks! I’d expect a new toothbrush to work right out of the box. Perhaps the battery is drained somehow. I suggest charging it for the night and try again tomorrow. While charging, the ring should turn on and off slowly. Good luck!🤞
@Laur Ivan I had to look that up for you😄 According to Oral-B, children can use any of their power brushes from the age of 3. That includes the iO series. My 8yo son uses the iO9 with a regular brush head, but it’s also possible to use the iO Gentle Care brush heads. Hope that answers your question!
@Brooke I see you’ve already been given good advice by @Emma and @Brielle😃 I don’t have any experience with the Oclean Flow, but I do with the Oclean X Pro, which was really good value for money. However, I do think the iO9 & iO10 clean better because of the difference in brushing mechanism and brushheads. But that’s to be expected, given the big difference in price. Good luck with your decision!
@technovelties Could you possible try to connect the Oral b io 10 magnetic sense ip stand to the oral b io 9 electric toothbrush and the App add the result in the review?
@Aristotelis Farmakis I would have liked to do it, but I don’t have it anymore. I have the iO9. @R Not sure what it comes with in other countries. Mine was indeed from Europe, The Netherlands. Have you seen it come with other brush head holders elsewhere?
I have the IO 9 - ditched the app because the AI (Artificial stupidity) randomly did not track at all accurately. So using coverage 1 section off teeth would get 100% coverage without being brushed... This was frequent enough to make the function just a waste of time. Toothbrush is also very capable of spraying toothpaste around the room, good feature? And why the heck should I want to create another potentially insecure online account? Note that the account is not required to use the app.
I have the iO 9 as well. I can imagine your experience with the app must have been very frustrating. I also get annoyed when I notice it track inaccurately, but it only happens every now and then. If it would happen often, I wouldn’t use it either. Toothpaste spraying around the room is new to me, haven’t seen or read that anywhere else. Good point though about the account not being required for using the app. That’s valuable information for others who prefer not to create an account. So thanks for that!
I think you really can’t go wrong with the iO series, so I can imagine the iO6 is great. I do like the app with the 16 zone 3D teeth tracking though, but that’s just personal preference. Thanks for watching!
@@TechNovelTies I'm an EFDA and spoke to one of their sales reps 2 days ago, at the Dutch Dental Expo. She explained that the mechanics are the same, the tracking part and amount of "brush modes" vary, so it's just a matter of how expanded you want the rest of the functions to be, it doesn't really make it a "better" brush.
@@TechNovelTies Honestly, purpose of a toothbrush is to mechanically disrupt biofilm. None of the bells and whistles, modes and so on can improve quality of the brushing. It is important to remember that you should clean your teeth untill they are clean (do not get fixated on time). Sure, you can "gear up" and purchase the higher tier of iO brush, it will deliver the same clean as you can achieve with lower series number, because operation of the brush remains the same. Every properly used electric toothbrush or manual brush with correct brush head characteristics deliver the same result - clean teeth (however do not forget that you need to clean between teeth, which requires interdental brush or floss, none of the electric toothbrushes can help you with this). TDLR: if you are not a techhead set on buying a totally geeked out toothbrush, lower series of iO will deliver the same results and save you a lot of money. Manual toothbrush deliveres same results as well. Modes of "brushing" are just a marketing fluff, only important modes are "normal" and "sensitive", if you find the brush too agressive in some spots.
@@iron_b0oltManual toothbrushes never deliver the same results 'as well'. Most people don't brush their teeth in 3-7 patterns to mimic an electric toothbrush.
Btw, if you mean the brush itself I found this: You can reset the handle by holding the on/off button for 10 seconds. All the lights should do a double-blink simultaneously to let you know that you've successfully reset your handle.
That‘s a difficult question! Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with either one of them, so I wouldn’t dare to say. I always go to @electricteeth when I want more in depth information. They have some great comparisons and will probably know the answer to your question

Nice of you to thank me Camelia, you’re welcome! I wouldn’t consider buying it for that price either. I do really like the app though, but I have to admit it took getting some used to😄 And with the 16 zones of the iO9, I feel like every part gets the same amount of attention.

Hey how are you and I want to say that this was a very good video and very detailed I myself just purchased the Oral-B IO series 9 and just waiting for it to be delivered and one of the things I wanted to ask was that I saw some reviews that said for some reason the series 10 was quieter than the series 9? Have you seen this to be true? I will definitely respect your opinion since you have used both brushes and you were very thorough in your videos and looking forward to hearing back your feedback, sincerely
@Clark Kent Thank you so very much, I really appreciate that! And I’m fine, thank you. Hope you are too!😃 The iO10 is indeed a bit quiter at a noise level of 64dB. The iO9 operates at 72dB. But to be honest, I just looked that up for you, because I didn’t notice the difference myself while making the video. I’ve been using the iO9 for quite a while now, and I still enjoy it every day. Hope you will too!

You dude, thank you for your explanations. I will now go and buy the iO 9 tooth brush
You’re welcome! Glad it helped you decide! Thank you for watching!😃👍
Awesome overview! Very nice walkthrough of the features and setup. :)
For me, I don't like to need to unlock my smart phone and open the app before brushing, so the charging stand is nice. Plus the clock time on the display is really convenient in the bathroom.
Also, its worth noting that the iO Sense will work with iO7, 8, and 9 handles as well. But they dont offer the charger on its own right now unfortunately.
Thank you very much Christopher!😃
Without the app I can see why you like the charging stand with the coverage setting. And the clock is a nice extra indeed.
Didn’t know about the iO Sense also being compatible with the 7, 8 and 9. That’s some valuable information. Thanks!👍
I would like to know how you know it's compatible
@@GameNOWRoom Good question! It’s what I understood from Christopher’s reply. So I haven’t tested this myself
I wrote the iO Sense software. But I think that information will be on an FAQ at some point if it isnt part of the manual
Thank you for sharing your experience. This could help others decide which model to go for.
Glad it helped you out! Indeed interesting price development. Which country are you from, if I may ask?
Thanks for sharing this video. I recently purchased the series 9 from Amazon during their fire sale. I was curious if the series 10, which comes with an additional ridiculous amount of hundreds of dollars, would enhance the toothbrush’s quality. However, it doesn’t seem to make a significant difference. Thanks again, my friend. 💯
@@JaxSphinx Anytime buddy. Thanks for sharing your appreciation.
Totally forgot to mention that!🙈
Isn’t it incredible that it can drop almost €250 in price?!
Great video and informative as always..with a dash of humour😉💞 thank you for the review 💞

@boydell_5664 You're welcome, thank you for watching the video!

I should have contacted you before making this video!😄
Didn’t know about the synchronization issue.
The charger has 3 usage modes:
- Unconnected
- Wi-Fi only
- Wi-Fi + Cloud
The last is required for sending guided session data, state, and logs.
Thank you this has really helped my decision!
@Cornelia Kobilke You’re welcome! So nice to hear that, thanks for letting me know!
Does the charging stand charge up to or does it have to be constantly plugged in? What if my our bathroom doesn’t have a socket?!
@MattH Indeed man, given how big and expensive the charging stand is, I can imagine you’d expect it to have an internal battery
@@TechNovelTies You would have thought so😂😂😂 Well, on that basis they’ve lost themselves a customer as can’t use it, will stick with io9!😂
@MattH That’s exactly what I did as well!😄👍
I bought the io 10 thinking the price would mean more quality and now I feel like a fool.
@@TechNovelTies Now that I know that iO9 is actually working better I feel even fooler haha. I hope they can fix it somehow with an app upgrade.
@A M haha, I think it does, but I’m not sure. Didn’t want to make you feel bad about it!!

Does the brush head only vibrate or does it really rotate to one side and to the other at 180 degrees?
@Samyr Thanks for watching and good question! It both vibrates and oscillates. But not at a 180 degrees, just between 40-45 degrees. I’ve double checked it by taking off the brush head and see how far it rotates.
Hope that answers your question!
What is WiFi used for? Is this so IOSense can communicate with the app?

I am using philips toothbrush
I am curious that does different model of oral b (e.g. io6, io9, io10) have difference in oscillating frequencies / cleaning power like the philips?
Or there are only differences in terms of functionality, such as modes, colour led monitor, charging speed, etc?
@Eric Lai Thank you for watching. I don’t think there are differences in oscillating frequencies or cleaning power between the different iO models. You can always ask @JonLove from www.electricteeth.com. to be sure. He’s an expert and will definitely have the answer.
Can I get any brush with the possibility to turn off led lights?
I don’t think so Kennet, I’m afraid you’re gonna have to either ignore them or get one without them!
@NYC_Goody Very good question.

Can the charging stand be used with the io9?
@Eric Perry Thanks for watching! Christopher Rose, an Oral-B developer commented on this video that it's possible indeed.
You’re question has been asked before and Christopher Rose, an Oral-B App developer, commented here that it is possible to connect the iO9 to the iO sense charging stand. Hope this information helps you somehow.
@@TechNovelTies thanks for your great review and comparison! Let me know if you manage to find out how they connect, or if the developer you’re in touch with would be able to share that info with the community!
@@alphi92 Thank you so much for your appreciation! Here's a link to the video with Christopher Rose's comment on top rb.gy/ofj2qf Jon Love from electricteeth.com also replied to him, so maybe you can ask them directly:) If I ever get my hands on the new charging stand again, I'll be happy to test it and make a short video.
Can I use the the io sense charger with my io9
I haven’t tested this myself, but a P&G employee commented “Also, its worth noting that the iO Sense will work with iO7, 8, and 9 handles as well. But they dont offer the charger on its own right now unfortunately.”
@@TechNovelTies okay thanks 😊
@AskDomDOTcom Any time👍 Glad to help😃
You have to pay for an app or something?
It’s free
Funny this in my recommended I was looking at these two to maybe replace my oral b 6500 had for two years. The prices are ridiculous though.
You’re right, they are ridiculous! I got the iO9 for €220, but no regrets!
@@TechNovelTies and I’m seeing loads of videos of mould issues with iOS and it’s harder to clean?
@riccccccardo I’ve seen one of these video’s but I feel it’s a bit exaggerated. All I know is my iO9 is still clean after having used it for about half a year.
@@TechNovelTies 👍🏾
You’re welcome!
Where did you get the toothbrush head holder from? Is that only available on European models?
@R Not sure what it comes with in other countries. Mine was indeed from Europe, The Netherlands.
Have you seen it come with other brush head holders elsewhere?
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Thank you
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching!
I’m waiting for 11. This one I heard brushes your teeth for you. Retail cost 1k
😂
Heh heh
Good video sir
Thank you @Dinakar I appreciate that very much!!
You are the best
Thank you so much! Glad I could help!😃👍
Is this better than the Sonic 9000 Prestige?
I don’t know, I’ve never used it
Bro where red is the 10 at I’ve been waiting for forever I wanna buy it already damn it
@DavyDave1313 I really don’t know why they haven’t launched it worldwide to be honest
I have the iO 6 and it's a great brush. You really don't need all of the gimmicks the rest of the series has to offer.
@ies Thanks for that explanation. I think that’s valuable information for people considering buying an iO series tootbrush.
How do you factory reset 😢
If you follow the steps explained in the video it should work eventually. Might take a couple of tries though, I know from experience. Good luck!
Btw, if you mean the brush itself I found this: You can reset the handle by holding the on/off button for 10 seconds. All the lights should do a double-blink simultaneously to let you know that you've successfully reset your handle.
Which one is the better genius or İo
iO, but it’s also more expensive
@@TechNovelTies well thats good. so, I wanna ask more special genius 10000 or io4
That‘s a difficult question! Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with either one of them, so I wouldn’t dare to say. I always go to @electricteeth when I want more in depth information. They have some great comparisons and will probably know the answer to your question
Is £800 in UK what the ....? Sorry I'll all be using my genius x for a little longer 🙈 .
Thank you for your review !
No way! That’s crazy!!🙈😄
@@TechNovelTies they can do half price sometime but still will be £400 way too much for a Toothbrush considering I have genius x and I have only used the app a few times . Thank you for your reply !
Nice of you to thank me Camelia, you’re welcome! I wouldn’t consider buying it for that price either.
I do really like the app though, but I have to admit it took getting some used to😄 And with the 16 zones of the iO9, I feel like every part gets the same amount of attention.
@@TechNovelTies I think I might go for the io9 as the stand for the io10 is not worth it for me as I dunt have where to put it to be able to use it as advertised . Thank you 😊
You’re welcome! I didn’t have a proper place to put it either, and I don’t regret going for the iO9!😃
Currently have the I0 series 9 and see no reason to upgrade lol
Same here!😄👍
totaly waste of money, I have io6 and io8, all same brushing power from 4 do 10. Instead 4,5,6,10 are newer models then 7,8,9 which are from 2020. I never use app, thats sound for brainless probably:D Just buy cheaper one and brush your teeth normal without holding phone or looking at charging stand:D Buy anything else for couple hunderd bucks which you saved
The phone tells you what areas you got and if you apply the right pressure and what areas you need to go over agian it's better for people who have cavities or who needs better brushing
Hope you are too!😃
The iO10 is indeed a bit quiter at a noise level of 64dB. The iO9 operates at 72dB. But to be honest, I just looked that up for you, because I didn’t notice the difference myself while making the video. I’ve been using the iO9 for quite a while now, and I still enjoy it every day. Hope you will too!
Better tech than most smartphones lol
Strange they're still not using USB-C charging opting instead for a proprietary power cord. I guess it means Braun can make more money when people damage/lose their charging cable. 🙄
USB-C would have been nice indeed, good point!
Oops just ordered the 10...
400 us in my country
Price differs a lot indeed and seems to drop fast. I guess that says a lot about their profit margin😄
Lol. Oral B is following apple trench . I will wail for IO 13
😂
But thank you for the useful info
@rosameijering5161 You’re very welcome! 👍😃
