    I loved the reverb and delay, it does sound real good on it's own, I've heard a lot worse in wood.
    I can't help but think I'd like to hear a couple comparisons without knowing, and then be told which was which.....

    I appreciate you man. Living in Thailand for a bit. Quite humid here. Been considering carbon fiber and you helped me make up my mind. Passed my Taylor onto my son before I left the states so this is perfect.

    I just bought a barely used Lave Me 2 carbon fiber guitar from a guitar store going out of business. $200. Great deal, great sound, LOVE it. ❤

    I own the Nova Go SP1. I swapped out the stock pins for Crosby ebony’s. I would characterize the tone overall as decent (not great, not bad). The built in effects make it good (again, not great, but better). I ordered the X3 Pro Mini to replace it, based on reviews I have seen. To my ears, in the reviews for this one it sounds “good”, making the effects addition upgrade to “very good”. I think it’s a fair trade off for the indestructibility factor. You could conceivably check this one in on a flight and have zero worries.

    Hey Sean whitch is the better sounding guitar X4 pro or the X3 pro. Tell me your opinion. Thanks

    • @gitpho
      @gitpho 3 месяца назад

      The X3 Pro is newer and is equipped with AcousticPlus 2.0 rather than the original AcousticPlus system of the X4 Pro, so in terms of effects and plugged-in tones the X3 Pro should theoretically sound better. That said, they're still marketing the X4 Pro as a more premium guitar than the X3 Pro, so I wouldn't be surprised if Enya updates the X4 Pro with AcousticsPlus 2.0 before too long.

    Have (and very much enjoy) an X4 Pro, i.e. the larger version of this. It‘s the guitar I take along when on camper-van trips, because it‘s less likely to suffer from shifts in temperature and general wear and tear. However, please stop chiming in with the many others calling this (or any of Enya‘s offerings) a „carbon fiber“ guitar!!! It most certainly is made up mostly of a composite material, with ONLY the top being carbon fiber, per se. The rest is….anybody‘s guess. And no, this guitar is NOT nearly indestructible. In fact, the one I ended up buying from Amazon arrived with a serious gouge in the carbon-fiber top at the lower front edge of the instrument. I ended up keeping it because Enya kindly arranged for me to get an appreciable discount on it, but it did look quite ugly because whitish, thread-like fibers were showing. I took a permanent black marker pen and prettied that up a bit, and just decided that a travel guitar is allowed to have some dings and gouges. But be warned that this guitar can get damaged. Another myth I hope I can help dispel: It doesn‘t stay totally in tune no matter what the temperature shift or degree of sun hitting it. Nope. Perhaps because it‘s largely composite rather than 100% carbon fiber? Presumably. However, I‘d much rather have this guitar out in the wild than any of my beloved wooden ones. And I do love the sound of the X4 Pro, and its responsiveness. It even sounds fantastic when tuned all the way down to C# standard (3 half-steps down!), naturally with thicker-gauge strings on it (13s). It feels great for fingerstyle and strumming, and sounds „woody“ enough for me, and better than quite a few wooden guitars I‘ve tried over the decades, including many by big-name companies. So for the Sonic Snobs out there who here a RUclips demo of this and dismiss it, you‘re missing something. Sure, the pickup sound is piezo, and thus not great, but no worse than other piezo sounds. And the unplugged sound is really enjoyable. I also bought - but returned - a Lave Me. It was OK-sounding, but fell apart sonically when tuned down as I do, and it has a shorter scale neck that doesn‘t suit me. Would I recommend the X4Pro, or the X3Pro demoed here? Yep. Are they „carbon fiber“? Nope, not really. Are they highly durable? Depends on what you think of as durable, but let‘s get real.

    Why doesn’t it have a 1 3/4” nut width and stainless steel frets? Also enya needs to make a les paul style carbon fiber guitar.

    nice. are these available with HyVibe?

    • @cagecurrent
      @cagecurrent 7 месяцев назад +1

      They use their own system which is similar to the HyVibe. Enya only have a single actuator (the device that cause the vibrations in the body from the effects unit when not plugged-in), and it's mounted on the inside-back of the guitar. HyVibe use dual actuators which is mounted on the guitars top. Otherwise they are pretty similar, the HyVibe has more features like a looper as well as firmware updates directly from the app.
      But if you really want the HyVibe I guess it would be possible to install it in one of these guitars, not sure it makes sense though?!?
      I have a LAG with the HyVibe system, and it's great. But at the moment I basically only play my Nova Go SP1 (same effect unit as the X3 in the video), it's so convenient to play in the couch. I also have a Enya X3 Pro Mini on order.

    • @harmonicalessonsnyc6386
      @harmonicalessonsnyc6386 7 месяцев назад +1

      thanks, but the most important aspect of the HyVibe to me is the looper - no looper here

    • @cagecurrent
      @cagecurrent 7 месяцев назад

      @@harmonicalessonsnyc6386 The Enya NEXG 2 has a looper I believe. I guess it would be possible to add a looper to the AcousticPlus/SP1 as well if Enya really wanted...

  • @VikingPadre

    Is it actually carbon fiber? Or composite? I have the Enya Nova Go, and it's composite, not carbon fiber. It's okay, a small durable travel guitar, fits in the overhead and has a sturdy case. But it stays in the closet when I'm at home. The X3 isn't as compact as the Nova Go. Not seeing much benefit to a bigger guitar that still sounds plastic.

    I have a carbon acoustic and think they are awful. They serve a purpose I suppose - they bounce, tolerate weather swings etc. But the sound is dreadful. A good (wooden) acoustic vibrates, resonates and projects. It feels alive. These carbon guitars are bricks, that try to make up for lack of genuine acoustics with cheap pickup tricks.

  • @fragslap5229

    Who cares? Anymore you can slap a pickup on pretty much ANYTHING, run it through a modeling amp and get ANY tone quality you want. It just boils down to finding a NECK you like.

That Enya X3 pro ( I believe that’s what he called it. It was blowing Gibson -J-45’ and hd-28 Martin’s out the water ! NO BULL SHIT ) Cause I was playing one of the HD-28 Martin’s a 2022 model. Not only was I surprised but 7 other seasoned musicians confirmed what my ears are hearing. Maybe the fellows that thinks it sounds bad have created a music ear for their guitar center $69.00 Rogue guitar’s . This is what I think when I opened this can of beans
