One day I will probably have to do this, a friend says its a nightmare to do, but seems pretty straight forward, my E34 is a very early model and has a M20 engine, so guess I got some more space making it even a bit easier for me
@@maxcoffin1644 Did it today, was after cleaning the inside of the vents as I am afraid of fires starting in there, got a 88 model 520i, found out there was no opening to open the side of it to clean it, as it has no micro filter as early model and no AC. So taking the glow box off didn't help me much, got same speed on setting 3 and 4, so I tried changing the resistor while in there, but it died after 30 seconds, so just put in the old one.. also changed the blower motor as I was in there already, and had a slightly better oem one from a past car in the garage... Didn't manage to clean inside it until I took out the middle consol and used a knife to open the passage to the vents for the back passenger that goes around the gear shifter.. these vents a option.. in my 91 mod it was a cover to screw off, but on this 88 model I had to knife and hook it out... worked like a sharm though and got all the junk out of there... was a long day though, lol. I rather swap the engine a couple times before replacing that early E34 heat register though, just damn. Glad its still working fine *jinxing it*
@@m3nameisjosh464 Yo I’m looking to disconnect the coolant reservoir and it doesent look like bolts , hard to explain , it’s like a plastic piece or something holding it in?
Did you do a proper video on how to install coilovers on these cars? I know you need to cut and weld cause the spindel and shock is one piece on the front or back cant remember, like on E30. I've seen when you go with good quality coilovers like Bilstein and KW, you literally send your old shock/spindel in and they weld on the stuff for you.
Unfortunately every time Ive done it was before youtube. Otherwise id make a video! But in spring im changing springs on my e34 so ill be doing basically the whole process and Ill film it!

hey josh i just started this job, (got the old motor out, gonna get the new one in tomorrow), and id appreciate an updated video done! there really isnt anything else that helps on youtube or forums, and that metal clip is a bitch and a half to get out. me and my dad spent about an hour trying to find something in the garage that could hook under it and get it out. if you could post an updated video that would be great! i understand if you dont wanna tho this job is a lot of fucking around with shitty plastic pieces and getting tiny cuts on your hands from said plastic.
hi guys i’ve got a RHD 92 525i , when i turn the fan on with the heater turned out smoke comes out the vent, i’ve got a new blower motor resistor, but can’t find the location of it. havnt used the fan since. anyone have an idea how i go about this

I know this late, just saw this vid. Spotted the cabin filter during the vid, might want to change that. Thank you for the content
Have you checked your wheel bearings? Bad wheel bearing can cause vibrations. Mine didn’t make any noise but caused vibrations.
Didn’t even think of this! Thats super likely actually.

I have like a foot of space behind the engine

Do you have to remove your windshield wife to replace your blower motor
Nope
So much easer work compared to e39.
It’s right next to the engine, all that heat

Would it be the same process for an E32??

I have no cars to do this job on at the moment. What you need is a 90 degree pick to get under and into the hole to pop the metal clip
