I gave up on new ski tech about 5 years ago, and now own 20 pairs of Machetes (every variation except the last two years of the 69, including two sets of Spatulas). Ski the steel, steal the thunder. These things still shred!

I amazed how well these have held up to the test of time.

My favorite Volant was the Superkarve Legend, the design of this model was influenced by the Mahre brothers. The skis were longitudinally compliant and torsionally stiff, held on ice like no tomorrow, smoothed out golf balls, and was the lighter weight of the models. The older Volants had a feel on snow like no other.

I have the machete and later have the Volant Silver M. One question are they still stainless steel?
