Really sassy video and I loved how you presented the information. Shooting with the SMO has been phenomenal. I still can't believe the difference between even the JFlowers Classic CF and the SMO. There's just a level of comfort with the SMO that I love. Your list at the end of the video really sums things up nicely.👍👍🔥
Maybe not. A couple of things, tho. I remember I was about 17, and my dad bought me a brand new cue. It wasn't an expensive cue, but it was mine. As soon as I started playing with it, I felt I was better. It gave me confidence and self-belief. Secondly, they have done medical studies where they gave 1/2 the patients' real medicine and the other 1/2 placebos. Guess what? The ones on placebos also had unexplainable positive results, sometimes full healing. Anyway, thanks for your patronage. One thing here that is fact is that lower deflection improves potting, especially for newer players. The requirement for aim adjustment is smaller, and that's just a fact. Us old dogs 🐕 struggle with the adjustment, myself I prefer some deflection, which is why I am so excited to try our new Crown shaft next. Best of both worlds. Less deflection than the classic, more than the SMO. I am hoping it will be my happy place.
I played with Jflowers cue with Classic CF shaft for more than 2 years and I am happy with it, however I bought JF SMO shaft 3 months ago and I must say that it's really worth every penny paid, it's really upgraded shaft from Jflowers, it's very low deflection, looks nice, good sound and generates good power, the only TAOM Fusion tip is not what I like which very personal preferences.
I also played with JF Classic CF shaft, but then I switched to revo which fits JF butt perfectly, huge difference and I dont think ill ever replace revo with another shaft
@pipolino5667 Thanks for your comment. There is no doubt that Revo is one of the best CF shafts in the market, however its all about personal preferences. I am planning to get myself Revo ahaft in the future as I like to have staff from different brands 😁
The j flowers has a 13" taper, and it cost $50 more for the kamui black tip. That makes it $450. I can get the Jacoby black cf shaft that comes with a 19" pro taper, and comes standard with the kamui black tip for around $425. I know, I have one.
The JFlowers is also lower deflection than the Jacoby Black. But honestly, why even come here and make that weird comment. What does that even matter ? Like I say all the time, shafts and cues are a personal item, I am happy you found a shaft that makes you happy. You okay ? Lol 😆
@@YaworskiPoolPractice lower deflection by who's standard? I haven't seen them compared. I watched the video because of the title, and was checking out the shaft because I'm going to buy another shaft for a cue I just bought. I was just making a comparison because I had considered the j flowers. No one has one around here, so really can't try one out, so I was comparing the specs. No problem.
Fair enough, it seemed like you were just knocking the shaft without trying it. Like you had already made up your mind, so....the link to a deflection comparison video is in the description. Also, Lil Chris and others have compared the SMO to the Revo. I believe there are comparisons of the Black to the Revo, and the Revo was lower deflection. Now people are comparing and acknowledging that the SMO is even lower than the Revo, so that would mean it is also lower than the Black, right ? Anyway, again, shafts are personal preference. Myself, I have always preferred a little deflection, but I am committed to giving this super low deflection shaft a go for at least one year. Do you have any questions about the SMO shaft?
@@YaworskiPoolPractice - I appreciate the fact that you don't block users that are not overly obnoxious. You're a great rep...if you're sponsored by Jflowers. Awhile back, I thought about getting an SMO. I'm sure it's a very good shaft. I have the regular Jflowers shaft (Konllen) and it plays well. However, I recently switched back to wood. Who knows, I may go back to carbon later. Deflection is overrated in my opinion because your mind automatically cause you to compensate for the differences. I never seen any players in the 90s have problems running racks with standard deflection cues, so I just don't see much advantage. However, I guess for confidence sake, some should buy the latest and greatest.

Just FYI Jayson Shaw is also using the SMO shaft. He's also one of their main sponsors. I talked to him at the Super Billiards Expo a few days ago and he loves it. Also, its not really public knowledge yet but they also signed another big name pro. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I never liked JFlowers brand before. I use custom cues to shoot with and collect them. I thought JFlowers was just a cheap brand with cheaply made carbon shafts as the selling point. I was completely wrong. They have two lines of cues with inlays and they are unbelievably well made. I ended up buying one at the expo. It's a prototype model that isn't being released so it's a one off. The amount of inlays is nuts. It's gorgeous and i got the SMO with it. If any other company made this cue that i got, they are charging 6k minimum. Not joking. Can't wait to use it tonight.

It depends how the tubes are made. In some variations of CF tube production, there is a seam. On lower quality shafts you can sometimes feel it. The CF tube quality is higher.
None of these shafts make a world of difference in my opinion. If it did, then none of the top 50 players would be using wood. Ruiz has been playing very well, since he switch from a Predator to Cuetec. If Predator is that much better, than why is Ruiz playing so well? It's all marketing. Put Ruiz in a Flowers, Cuetec, Predator, Viking or any good Carbon Fiber shaft, and he will still be a top 10 player in the world. In other words, if you're not playing top 10 in the world pool, it's you...not the stick.
I wholeheartedly agree. It's not the cue, or the shaft. The thing I respect about JFlowers as a company is that their goal is to bring high quality products to players at reasonable prices. 👌
@@YaworskiPoolPractice - I agree. I have a Konllen, which is basically from the same company. Good stick. For $300 and change, it's probably the best value out there. Maybe someone in my pool league might buy one and if I like it, I might buy one.
Can you say what shaft Ruiz is playing ? There are LD wood shafts as well, like the Z2 / Z3. And according to DrDave the Z2 has the same LD capabilities as the Revo. I am surprised that an Earl Strickland is using CF, because they play since decades with normal wood. Same for Efren Reyes. Probably after a million shots your muscle memory is trained so well to compensate without thinking.
Well then you are lucky they sent you a cue that exactly weight as ordered. I got one that was completely out of balance very butt heavy and not the weight I ordered. I ordered 19 ounce got 19.2 ounce. But with a butt heavy as 15.6 ounce which is way to much for a 19 ounce cue. So be warned when onderring at this company they will not solve the issue best you can get is get your money back, but then they do not want you anymore as customer. You have to accept the cue as is. If you are a serious player I advise stay away from this. They said to me their butts and shafts all have different weights and get combined to be roughly the weight you order. So If you are lucky the cue has good balance or very bad if you are not.
