      can't. in the UK when a minor or sometimes adult is released from prison for a serious crime they are given a new identity. not even the police are allowed to know who they are & if their new identity is released they are given a new one & moved on the government's dime

    6:24 wow how dystopian, could you imagine having the police show up or even being arrested because you essentially posted your opinion online or reposted someone else’s opinion!?
    Reminds me of the TV show in the 90s, The episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" that is called "The Tale of the Phone Police”!
    an organization aka z Phone Police, who monitor & punish people for their private conversations! But instead of the phone think of the Internet! Instead of committing or carrying out a crime, your voice your opinion saying something someone else disagrees with and or does it like! Could you imagine? People are so sensitive nowadays, if a freedom, hating government ever created such a thing. One could only imagine their law enforcement would be overwhelmed almost immediately. Especially if the government takes it one step farther by getting in on it. If you critique that government in anyway they don’t like, BOOM! You get a visit from old bill and you get a visit and you get a visit everyone gets to visit! The Internet police lol how to say your government is communist without saying your government is communist!

      An opinion is one thing, but libel is an actual crime. You cannot accuse people of something false that damages their reputation to the extent that it causes them harm. It would be dystopian if that were legal.

    • @tablescissors
      @tablescissors 2 месяца назад +1

      @@winspiff One has to PROVE that libel or slander occurred, and as that is a non-violent crime, in many countries (particularly where free speech exists) you do not typically get formally arrested in such a case, although charges can be brought in court and depending on circumstances fines and/or sentencing may be brought.

      So, if someone claims in a public post that you're a pedo and includes your picture and address, you'll feel like that's alright? You think that until you prove the claim to be a lie, which you can't, others should be able to freely re-post it to others? Maybe even after you somehow prove the claim is libel, people should still continue to spread the lie, since it's just an opinion?

    • @hannahyoung6762

      in the UK releasing the identity of a person who was a minor at the time of the crime is illegal & it's not a simple fine or few months in prison either. no one is allowed to know the identity of the criminal not even the police, their records are sealed and their online photos are removed
