Hi George and your wife and new baby , little Harriet poppy , I’ve just heard your most wonderful news , congratulations to you both . , how lovely to have a beautiful baby girl . And I would like to wish you all a joyous Christmas . I’m looking forward to tomorrow with our 3 yr old grandson , this year he found out and understands what Father Christmas is all about 🤣🤣 so it’s very exciting having a young one at Christmas time , and rather expensive too 🤣🤣 but he’s worth it . Have a wonderful time all 3 of you , god bless you all xx love Sylvie x 🥰. .
Hi Sylvie, thank you so much. We've had a lovely Christmas and I hope you have too! We've got all that magic (and expense!) to look forward to then haha. Back to videos soon enough, it's not been a bad few weeks to have the time inside while it's been cold and rainy though. All the best for the New Year and thank you for your kindness as always.
I like having a break for a couple months to work outside in mild weather here in panhandle of Florida to do physical labor intensive projects to make changes to my tropical garden like bringing in new dirt to prepare new beds for spring. Also reflect on what went well from previous year as well as failures and make plans to improve based on those results
Congratulations on Harriet, George! You will find parenthood very much like growing sub tropical plants. Keep them warm and well fed and watered.........and manure is an ever present treat!
Congrats to you and Alice mate. Wonderful news 👍. Those nights can be killers but you're looking remarkably fresh given the sleepless nights 🤣. Before long the garden becomes even more of a refuge from the chaos. Great ideas re winter. If I'm honest though at this time of year all I feel like doing is driving to the bloody airport and heading to the Canaries till Easter.😁👍
Thank you very much Mr Calzone, I'm pleased she has the blessing of the Italian families haha! Yes, I suppose heading abroad would definitely be the easier way of getting that shot of winter sun & palmage!
Thanks, I probably won't get a chance to do it this cold spell but thanks for the idea, a summary of the advice in my other plant specific vids could definitely be helpful!
Baby Harriet is absolutely beautiful, congratulations! Your garden looks beautiful as well. Was wondering what type of plant is that behind you at 252 to your left? Is it a type of ginger? Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you very much! It's a Hedychium gardnerianum ginger yes, good spot, now tucked away in the polytunnel. I'm pleased you enjoy the vids, hopefully back into a rhythm of uploading soon!
Harriet is so beautiful! Congratulations to you and Alice! Great video, once again, thank you George! As for taking out a piece of the lawn, I have been visualising this through the summer and have formulated a plan so looking forward to creating this new space next year! Have a lovely 1st Christmas with Harriet!
Congratulations to you both on the birth of your new daughter❤️, things will settle hopefully 🤣🤣Harriet is the name of my first grandaughter, another great video you really take some awsome pics
Thank you very much and hopefully indeed! Ahh, congratulations to you too, it's the first name we both agreed on and it fits perfectly! Thanks, pleased you enjoyed the vid!

Where do u find time? My garden is in Hampshire. Totally evergreen so it's lush now. Feed it all year with soil bananas.16 years old but get this an 1/8 of yr size. My fencing panels covered hidden. You should see it most of the plants from New Zealand. Do u want to work full time in gardening?
I have no idea haha, time is definitely in short supply! That sounds like a lovely garden, I love the look of a lot of the NZ plants. I enjoy making the videos and spending time in my garden and others but I'm not sure I'd find a fit in full time horticulture - who knows though!
Hi, great vid very informative. Just one question what is the ideal temp. range for storing Ensete, as here in Cambridge (11 Dec) it is -6 to -1 so garage & shed will become permanently -C & the forecast is -1 to 5C for the next week. Must temp always be above 0C.
Hi and thank you very much! Sorry I haven't been able to reply before now. You may get away with a dip below freezing but ideally they need to be kept cool but frost free.
I would like to wish your daughter a long, healthy and happy life, George.
