I love the songs with Johnny and Danny singing together. Their lyrics are usually profound and hard hitting each time and just filled with honesty about the state of the world, themselves, whatever they're singing about from their point of view. I saw an interview with Johnny saying he likes writing with Danny and I can see why. They're great together!

This seems like an anti-war anthem sarcastically masquerading as a war anthem. The chorus sings about the glory of dying in battle, the perspective of young soldiers rushing to the front lines for idealistic notions of honor and the nobility of fighting for a cause, while the verses paint a more cynical picture of war as a tool of imperialism and conquest wherein elites send the children of the poor to die for their causes, filling their heads with ideas of glory and then providing hollow words of sympathy and respect to the families of those lost in a war that was never waged for them, when in reality they only want more brainwashed kids to throw into the meatgrinder, ready to kill and die for manufactured glory, to spill their blood on the altar of Mammon.
I could be wrong, of course, but that's what I got from my first listen of this song.

This is the second Glory lyric video I've watched and both of them have had the wrong lyrics. It's not "A mother's heart could make me humble", but "No mother's heart could make me humble." The first makes absolutely no sense in the context of the rest of the song.
