So true. Every other seafood boil video I've seen starts off with something like "We're gonna fill up this 60 gallon pot with crawfish and taters..." etc.
Just finished dinner with this recipe. My husband and I loved it. My son had to work late and if he doesn't pick up what is leftover, my husband said he will take it in his lunch tomorrow. I'll have to make this again. Thanks again for a great recipe that was so easy to make.
Thank you for making this! I love a shrimp boil but I have never made one. I am trying to show my wife, who's from up north, what a real Cajun meal should taste like. But I don't wanna mess it up
GREAT RECIPE! I have a tip about the okra...i like it it fried but not eating it soft or slimy but i love the flavor so i take a cheese cloth, wrap a few pieces of okra and put it in the pot of what ever's cooking and get the flavor that way with no slime, lol!
Nice. I've been looking for a small version of a shrimp boil for a while now. I've done the version you can feed an army with dozens of times but never tried it for just myself or with a friend or two.
I have a tip for things you can add in. Went over to my sister's for a boil, and they added in button mushrooms. If you are a mushroom lover, they come out AH-MAZING! Sooooo tasty!😋
My recipe is similar for 2 people with the exception of the season sack. I add about 1/2-2/3 cup of SWAMP FIRE powdered crawfish boil. I then add my corn and tators and let them boil for 30 minutes. This makes the corn soft instead of kind of hard. I then add 3 lbs of 16-20 ct. per lb. of Gulf shrimp, headless, and let them come to a boil. I then shut off the fire and add 2 qts. of ice cold water to stop the shrimp from cooking. Let them sit for about 10 minutes (longer for more spicy) then tear dem up! C'est Si Bon, Mon Sha!
Nika All the other ingredients...don't take hardly any time to cook... the frozen corn is pretty quick.. If you cut up the potatoes all you have to do is get one out and check it. to see if a fork will easily slide into it.. that means fork tender..Make sure all the potatoes you cut are generally the same size and they all will be done the same time..... I hope this helps you Nika... Thanks :)
thanks for this quick guide, will give it a try. we don't have access to the shrimp and crab boil spice, think we can use the Old Bay directly on the boil?
You can find Zatarains seafood boil seasonings online. We used to use an electric turkey fryer with basket, with some water, the dry and liquid Zatarains crab and shrimp boil, sausage, potatoes, lemon, garlic, onion, corn and shrimp headed legged and deveined. I like several dozen littleneck clams as well. Have plenty of melted butter( w/garlic) and plenty of lemons. Where are you that you cannot get those seasonings? You can make your own using the old bay as a base spice and add heat.
Rex Koenig I wait until you can put a fork in them but not falling apart tender.. You just have to make sure that the potatoes are done when all the rest takes no time really... The corn is next and you are just warming up the Sausage and the Shrimp only take a very few minutes... it's not hard you can do it... :)
Usually about an hour for each potato on a hard boil. If you want to speed up the process, dip the potatoes in protein powder. Same with chicken or tuna salad.
Cool Vid. You ever thought of using Louisiana FF Shrimp & Crab Boil? They gotta have it even in north texas. How did the shrimp peel? I think i woulda shut off the burner as soon as the shrimp went in. That's just me though...
Those shrimp are raised in the water treatment plants all over Asia. Wish you would support our Shrimpers here in the Gulf instead of eating septic tank shrimp that you like eating. Save that money !!! LOL!
AWESOME !.......This is what my wife is having for supper tomorrow night......she just don't know it yet ! ! Just Liked and subscribed ! ! Thanks For Sharing !
You ever done a crawfish fish and shrimp boil with pre cooked crawfish(only way I can find em here) if so, got any suggestions? Or know a good recipe to point me to
Blake James Well if you ONLY have precooked shrimp.. WOW.... You can use them just put them in the boil only for 1 minute but let them thaw first.... Just long enough to warm them ..... :)

How long do you let the potatoes boil if you cut them in half of quarters? Does that change the time that you put them in the boil?
