I'll be honest, even though this is YDYD, I actually don't care they're playing fast and loose with the rules. It's just nice to have them adventuring and surviving in something that feels a lot like their classic exploration episodes.

Yeah, it's kind of wierd that they decided to do a YDYD playthrough for their Minecraft renunion. Probably would've been better to play casually for an episode or two just to explore some of these mods and THEN do a YDYD playthrough. But it's honestly good either way.
Definitely. It's kinda nice that they're giving deaths a certain amount of weight, instead of the usual inconsequential annoyance, but I really don't get much of anything from having people just stop being there. And it really doesn't seem to improve things on their end of things, either.
"Classic" is a great descriptor. I haven't watched a minecraft episode in years, this really feels like OG Tower of Pimps days. Such a joy to watch.
The entire series could just be them making up reasons to bring themselves back to life and I'd be okay with it. YDYND.

honestly i am enjoying it as is, why don't they just play minecraft without some specific mission or goal? I enjoy it when they can just chill out and chat, the exciting stuff has a time and a place too.

and then 10 minutes later matt is punching dirt in front of Gavin, who literally said something like "if you need someone to dig up dirt, I'm your guy". AH never changes huh

@@cstrutherskgs I like the suspense of trying not to die, but then wanna see them live longer. So I like the concept of YOGO (you only get one) personally. It’s AH anyways no one expects them to be good at the game lol
@@huh3719 I personally really liked when they did the YOGO principle but linked it to creating a Tower of Pimps to bring an individual back. It gave the survivors something to do and added suspense.

@@keatonparker4789 I think it’s fair for some fans to express disappointment with certain aspects of the content they like. AH has no obligation to cater to each fan’s specific wants but to properly entertain they do need to know what their audience wants. And rn a lot want just Minecraft but some still like that tension and fear of YDYD. Just differing opinions

I hope the real theme of this YDYD is they never truly start it and just have fun playing Minecraft.

A series with James & James would be a fantastic bunch of really short videos. They’d go in and play a game and die within the first 10 minutes and be like “Alright, that’s the video”
Depends on the Genre, if its an FPS then one James would excel, honestly if it was Halo both would.
By the sound of it, they would exclusively play things where they had to be in sync and always be off.

Is it just me or is Trevor significantly more funny & natural than he used to be? I used to not really like him, but now I don’t mind him one bit, and even find him funny most of the time.
Maybe it was the transition from doing kid friendly content to doing videos w the AH gang that made his early humor so out of place?

The solar system thing Gavin is talking about is an orrery! I just rewatched the episode of sky factory 3 when he obsessed over the word “orrery” after he made one with the decobench. Iconic.

@@bunnylebowski4465 not sure if this is a joke, but in case it’s not, red web is a podcast series with Trevor and Alfredo that’s a lot like buzzfeed unsolved in that they discuss weird mysteries and conspiracy theories. If you like that kinda stuff I highly recommend it

I like it that they take a couple episodes to get back into YDYD and then if you die you are out... that makes sense with all the new mods and things they use
Man, its such a strange feeling, I've practically grown up watching most of these guys and to hear Geoff's voice again along side Jack's, Gav's, Michael's... Its like all the tension in the world sort of just melts away for 44 minutes. Glad to have you back Geoff, and I think your crew is too. Everyone seems so much more... Them selves, more than usual if that makes sense.

I'm old now, but thank you for introducing me to Minecraft. I remember watching your Let's Plays years ago and it looked so fun and I was so excited that I begged my mom to get me Minecraft for my birthday. Never more glad to be part of the community that brings me a lot of joy and creativity. A lot of things have changed, but thank you for being a part of my childhood.

Alfredo could've survived if he used his shield, but he turned away like a coward and it killed him.
He could have also survived if he had any sound on.

@@nailgames2282 1:24 editor says there is no in-game sound. Classic Cinema. For the first 2 minutes, I listened to the audio more than the actual video. Had the re-watch it again to find where you were particular about it.
Now does that mean the Minecraft game sound has corrupted, or Alfredo actually turned down the sound in the Minecraft settings? His voice audio works, so what would be more likely?

@Gryphon ah so what they made YDYD themselves, they can play it how they want too. Also gavin and Michael weren't in Minecraft for what 3 months and Geoff it's been a year. Personally I'm just happy to see them enjoy Minecraft, we all know they hate playing it most weeks.
Honestly, with the respawns, ironically this is the best YDYD to date

It’s so clear they just want to play Minecraft normally, but they’ve confined themselves to YDYD.
The problem is that what they want to play and what gets views and therefore ad revenue/subscription sign-ups are two greatly different things.
