Your video is still saving people 13 years later. After hours of cleaning up a flood and working on the bottom drain to remove a sock from it, we still had water gushing from the soap dispenser. The 11 o'clock descriptor was perfect and helped me locate the drain quickly.
Funny you mentioned what the possible culprits could be, "wife's undergarments" is exactly what we found stuck up there. Thank you so much for the time you took to make and upload this video!

This was EXACTLY the issue. It took some serious pulling to look between the bellow and the metal ring area, but we finally found a floral print shoved way up into the pipe. Thank you for saving our Sunday night! It may have been much worse or much more expensive with tears involved if we hadn’t found your video.

I walked into the laundry room with water on the floor so I did not witness the washer overflow but followed your suggestion in checking between the membrane and spin chamber. Thank you very much, Praire, for posting this video. My novice troubleshooting and hope to DIY repair were beginning to fade and feared I may have to call a repairman and pay big bucks. I pulled out a full dress sock stuck in the 10:00 position! Using a flashlight helped. Fortunately, I heard what appeared to be water dripping from our laundry room on the first floor, and I discovered a waterfall flowing from the soap dispenser! Had I not been there to pull the plug, the water could have caused severe water damage to our brand new basement apartment, lodging our first tenant there for only two nights.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You just saved us having to buy a new washer!! I was totally expecting one of my daughters little socks...instead I pulled out a pair of my underwear! I can't even imagine how anything can get stuck in there! The membrane is so tight! Thanks again!!

Thank you so so so so so much for posting this video! New house, and this would’ve been another things on the list making me feel like I’ve bought the money pit. Easy fix, took less than 5 minutes, and it’s working normally now. Saved me time, money and my sanity.

Thank you, this was exactly what was wrong with mine. A men's ankle sock can accomplish the feat described in this video. If your spin cycle has sounded odd that may be your tip off that this issue is incoming.
I used a screwdriver to pull the sock toward me because I couldn't get the needle-nosed pliers into the gap and grabbed it from there.

Hey Prairie Climber, please tell your wife you have another admirer : )
My male roomie thought I was crazy that I wasn't going out to buy a new machine!
Who's the homeowner? Yep, ME not him.
I had the same problem; yours was the first vid I watched. BAM! After pulling bellows back, a cloth table napkin wedged in there..
I'm doing a load of clothes right now and NO leaks. Thanks, darlin'.

      Nona King You are Welcome!!..
(EX-Cheating) wife now btw. She threw away 9-10yrs just to find out he was a jerk and it ended a 2-3months after she move out. Karma served :) & Good riddance!
