Check out C DOES, I'm not sure if he does comparisons, but he does a really good job showing eye boxes & FOV in his optic reviews, very in depth & visual.
Since I started watching your video I put monstrum scope rings and a monstrum offset flashlight on my Omni Ar and gotta ncstar 4x30 scope to finish it off. Thanks for helping my high value budget build
Another excellent video with some great advice... I also have all three varieties on several different rifles and after using them all I agree that the LPVO is the best all around choice in most circumstances. 👍
I just bought a Vector Paragon 4X Prism for my lever gun. I wanted something light, compact and decent quality, with some magnification. Field of view is more than enough for general hunting, and eye relief is pretty forgiving at 2.7 inches. Can’t fault it.
Primary Arms SFP LVPO, illuminated, ACSS....NOT expensive, 😉, plus super relaxed eye box, crisp clear glass, revolutionary ACSS reticle, illuminated, gets AMAZING reviews by the big RUclips guys such as Rex Reviews. I have one in a hybrid AR in 7.62x39 NO problems no issues 😉
I Think It Would Be Cool If Some Company (Like Vortex, Primary Arms, Sig, Or SwampFox) Made A PRISM OPTIC (Not An LPVO. Not A Red Dot. Not A Regular Scope) That Had A Magnification Of 1-6x (Instead Of The Magnification Being Fixed).
Vortex Sells The Spitfire 1x Prism Optic For $399.99; I Got It Brand New (At Least 2 Years Ago) From Cabela's For $184.76 After Tax. I Was Surprised That Cabela's Sold The Vortex Spitfire At Such A Low Price, Because It Has Great Reviews And Cabela's Loves To Sell Things At MSRP. The Vortex 1x Spitfire Is Great For CQB, Can Be Used With Both Eyes Open, And Has A Great Eye Relief.
Being an ye olde fart I have a hard time finding a magnifier that I can mount without removing the rear iron sights... I like the red dot and magnifier setup and like using irons time to time...
Dump the sights you don’t need them. LVPO’s and Prism sights have etched reticle. Most decent red dots have at least 50000 hour battery life. You don’t need iron sight’s anymore.
@@ronaldborders6814he's just like me... I love and always keep backup irons!!! Key to life.. if anything can happen it will.. I don't wanna be stuck with nothing... backup irons are just if in some way my reddots and scopes get trashed I still got my irons... same with my pistols... if my reddot gets busted dead etc.. I love my 1/3 Co witness irons just incase...
I've been looking at the 1-6x Banshee and watching dozens of LPVO videos. What I'm hearing is, most affordable LPVOs higher than 6x are a waste of money. Because the Glass won't give you clear target ID at long range. When you zoom all the way into 8x or 10x, the glass quality and the small size of the glass fuzzes up the sight picture too much. Dial it back to half power and it's much clearer. The standard scope has to be set to Full zoom, before reticle hold over or wind correction can be used. They work fine at 200 to 300 yards. But at 400 & 500 yds it isn't hunter ready. Maybe okay for a large white target with good lighting on flat range..
I have a Sheperd 1-8 & the glass is decent at 8x, the eye box isn't great, but doesn't suck. That being said I prefer my Vortex Viper Gen1 PST 1-4, really good glass, really good field of view & the eye box is more forgiving at 4x, plus it's an MOA(they have Mrad also) reticle instead of BDC, so I can run it on any caliber or barrel length & find the my dope. Also, it's only 16oz, which is pretty light for an LVPO. Unfortunately it's been discontinued, rebranded as The Ranger, but that might be discontinued. Have my eye on a PA 1-6, but think I'd rather hunt down another Viper/Ranger, it can stretch out a 5.56 to it's effective range.
@@chizorama I ended up getting two of the1-6x Banshee. The 1st one has the Bright Cube shaped reticle with a good amount of LED lighting, which I think is great for fast shooting up close from 1x to 6x. The 2nd Banshee has a BDC reticle and the illuminated fiber-optic center dot. I think the dot is a little small. It will shoot 1 to 2 MOA and works fine on the 200 yd range. I'm going keep the BDC version on my best shooting upper, and put the Cube on my 9mm 16" PCC. If the PCC doesn't have at least 3 MOA. I'll try it on my super accurate Remington 788 .223 Bolt Rifle. Right now it's got a BIG benchrest scope, very suitable for long range, but too heavy for old folks like me..
I have a hard time with Monstrum. I had their products in the past, super heavy, poor coatings on the scope and mount. I ended up giving away. You almost have me convinced to give them another shot....
I agree. My shorter barrel is a holosun with a 3x magnifier which I rarely use except to positively identify my target. My ar 10 is the lpvo with offset iron sights. I'd love to add thermal one of these days
Hmm, I generally follow this except for my weird purebred 13.7 SS barreled upper, has 1x8 lpvo. Works pretty well with the barrel. Magnified prism would work well too.
Wish when u did these kind of videos u would show a view through the optic while explaining. Would make the info much easier to understand.
Was thinking the same thing 😅

Just mounted that same LVPO on a 16'. Haven't run it yet but saw your video on it and thought I'd give it try.

Magnifier work with a 1x prism?

EoTech made a 1x/4x combination prism optic. Sadly, I don't think physics really allows another way to do it than physically rotating the prisms.
We all want that miracle optic that can do anything, but the technology to make micro adjustable optics just doesn't exist yet.

Hi can you please make a video of the different Axis utv models that are available at Lowe's?
Have you tried UTG lpvo?
Im about to get my first 16 inch to do some 600 yard shooting.
1-10x lpvo or 5x prism or 6x mag with red dot!

Monstrum company New Cyclops 3x prism w/ 6" 👁️ relief is on My radar ! Coming out in Late April , can you do a review on it ? Buddy 🤠
They make any prisms that sit lower? Looking for ps90 optic

There is a reason Monstrum is not on any website or store that sells firearm products.
It's an airsoft product.

Thank you 👍

Lpvo's are more of an ok of all worlds optic.
Can you use the 5x prism optic on a pistol in stead of a red dot?
No
I ordered a Trijicon Credo LPVO in sfp

So my opinion is 12.5 and shorter reddot and magnifier, 12.5 to 16 prism, 16 and longer LPVO.

Why exactly are you allocating optics to specific barrel lengths?
@@hambonesmithsonian8085 because barrel sizes only has a specific effective range and purpose
@@VEX_VICTORIOUS while this is true, that still doesn’t determine what optic might be best for your specific purposes and skill set.
