    It's a pity the actual movie didn't have the slow, majestic shots of the ship like this does, giving a feeling of just how enormous these things really are. That was one of my favorite aspects of the original movies, and it's been sorely missing from everything since. The Kelvin is actually quite a cool-looking ship when you have time to admire it. This was a pleasure to watch!

    Love the detail that the Kevlin has some kinda "ehh" shields that keep the hull from getting damaged for a bit while the Enterprise has a bubble shield that is clearly much stronger. Makes sense with the tech upgrade and what their ships function would have been and I think details like that should be in the actual films honestly.

    More than 10 years later and this video is still going strong. Was my greatest pleasure to write the music for this .. and I can only hope it gave all the fans chills with that ending. Very satisfying for me personally. Tobias’s incredible model actually made me fall in love with this Enterprise design .. wasn’t such a fan before hand. Superb video made by one helluva talented 3D artist. And love it or hate it .. the music was my pleasure to write for this epic film and I’ve no regrets!

    Thanks for all the recent comments.
    This movie was done 6 years ago. It was purely done to show the Kelvin and the Enterprise prior to the actual movie (based only on images from the trailer). The "story" is intentionally simple.
    There are no phaser cannons because at the time I made this animation, the movie was not out yet and I did not know the Enterprise had these Phaser cannons.
    There will be no updated version or continuation of this short little movie.
    You can see more of my work in fan-produced movies and series like "Star Trek - New voyages", "Star Trek: Axanar" and "Star Trek: Renegades".

    I have to admit that the Kelvin Timeline Enterprise has really grown on my a lot, though I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that I have a Kelvin Timeline Constitution-class Heavy Command Cruiser of my own - the U.S.S. Jupiter NCC-1734 - in Star Trek Online. It really has become one of my favourite Starships, though the top spot still goes to the Constitution-class Starship (Refit) from the Prime Timeline with the Enterprise-A taking the number 1 spot. I do love how the Enterprise warps in just in time to rescue the Kelvin though Kirk is on the bridge saying 'Hold on Dad, I'm coming to save you.'

    • @richardched6085
      @richardched6085 5 лет назад +2

      USS Jupiter (NCC-1734) is an Archernar subclass Heavy Cruiser in the Prime Universe. Did you know this or did you name your ship that by coincidence? Either way awesome!

    • @alasdairgardiner2313
      @alasdairgardiner2313 5 лет назад +1

      I did know this and for some reason I liked the name and number and had been trying to write a fan series about her career - in the technical specifications that I have written she was commissioned in 2254 and decommissioned in 2297 after a career of 43 years and I had been planning to use the name for a Constitution-class Starship (Refit) in Star Trek Online, but then I obtained my Kelvin Timeline Constitution-class Heavy Command Cruiser and decided to call it the U.S.S. Jupiter NCC-1734, commanded by my in-game character, Fleet Admiral/Federation Ambassador Phillip Christopher Pike. In the technical specifications for the Jupiter, I have said that the Kelvin Timeline ship is also an Achernar-subclass Starship and that she was built at the Tranquility Base Fleet shipyards, where the U.S.S. Defiant NCC-1764 and U.S.S. Excalibur NCC-1664 were also built. According to another website, the Jupiter was the Flagship of the Starfleet 12th Fleet, headquartered at Starbase 19 - another bit of information I have used in the technical specifications.

    • @richardched6085
      @richardched6085 5 лет назад +2

      @@alasdairgardiner2313 awesome! I tried to get the Kelvin Timeline Connie 2 years ago but I wasn't familiar with microtransactions... Wasted $10 lol. In my headcanon Starfleet had at most 150+ Constitution class Starships in service by 2265 (With there being the original 12 launched in 2245 hence Kirk's line about there only being 12) Bonhomme Richard, Archernar, Tikopai class ships would be used for patrol and combat purposes while the Enterprise was mainly an Exploratory Vessel. In the Kelvin Timeline it seems like the registry numbers are all over the place... 1734 had been taken by the USS Hood (However it's supposed to be 1703 lol) so it still works for the Jupiter.

    • @alasdairgardiner2313
      @alasdairgardiner2313 5 лет назад +1

      I got the Jupiter from the lockboxes, can't remember how many I tried but eventually I succeeded and the rest is as they say, history. I also feel that the look of the Kelvin Timeline Constitution-class Heavy Command Cruiser has grown on me a lot and it is one of my favourite designs after the Prime Timeline Constitution-class Starship (Refit), especially the 2009/Into Darkness version. I am not too keen on the look from Star Trek Beyond - it just made the Enterprise look too skinny and too easily destroyed, though if that version was ever introduced into Star Trek Online I might modify the Jupiter with the Star Trek Beyond style saucer section with the additional phaser turrets. Occasionally I have used the red Bussard ramscoop option in Star Trek Online to suggest a slight modification to the Jupiter's engines, however I do prefer to keep her looking more like the 2009 Enterprise. Other things I have on the Jupiter include the blue retro TOS phasers, Quantum Torpedoes and the Lorca Manoeuvre - the Spore Drive. Phillip Pike and his crew have the Wrath of Khan-era uniforms because they are my favourite Starfleet uniform, but I have had a few different uniforms, but sadly Admiral Pike missed out on the Kelvin Timeline Admiral's uniform like the one Admiral Marcus/Admiral Pike had in Into Darkness.

    One thing that I was hoping to see in the 14th film was seeing three different time periods in the life of James T. Kirk.
    1. The present day (Chris Pine)
    2. The past (Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk)
    3. The future, 50 years later (William Shatner)
    And all of them have to work together to combat whatever the threat is.
    To borrow a deleted, but appropriate, quote from William Shatner in Generations, “Let’s try and cheat death together.”

    One quibble, not even worth mentioning - Starfleet ships, like US Navy ships, have the name on the back, not the serial number. I don't know if the people responsible for the new movie are aware of that.

    @ToushiroHitsugaya1 But that doesn't explain why the Klingons don't have disruptors. Also, the USS Kelvin is a NCC ship, not NX. It was used until 2233 (it is at this point that the timeline probably split), and the NX-01 was used until 2161. Shouldn't they have Phasers by now?
