Recently came across your content but this video helped me have the knowledge and confidence to negotiate a higher salary in my new IT role so thanks to both of you!
I'm going through this now where I was passed over for a position where the candidate is a younger white male with considerable less experience than myself and another African american coworker. I don't always want to believe it's about race but I definitely do believe it's about preference and privilege. I won't tolerate blatantly disrespectful treatment. There used to be a time as a black female in IT I wouldn't say anything but not anymore.
Nice video as usual. Just a few things. We don’t talk about how much we make because we work with white people who don’t. I’ve never encountered a POC who worked in an environment with a high percentage of other POC who was uncomfortable telling me how much they make Sitting for a long period of time to learn a niche skill is only useful if there’s practical skills taught as well as theory.

Sitting for a long period of time to learn a niche skill is only useful if there’s practical skills taught as well as theory.
I wouldn’t discuss that at work anyways. This is moreso with friends that are in similar fields. This helps you not get low balled
