This is Episode 23 of my Let's Play Terraria series on Terraria 1.4.4!

For the record, I like the pacing. I don't care as much for rushed playthroughs. This is how I usually play. Prepare as much as possible as early as possible until I need to progress.
This is a underrated comment my favorite way to play as well
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words and support 😀
I have been absolutely loving the current pacing to be honest. I feel like so many people steamroll through Terraria without exploring more or doing fun things. I don't want to watch a speedrun, I want to watch Python Play Terraria!
Yes exactly. I'd rather watch him do the stuff that I would completely skip over when I do my playthrough. That way, I get to see what I missed while playing Terraria myself.
I love the pacing of this series! It makes it feel so much more rewarding when you complete a boss or milestone when you are properly prepared and take things at your own pace! Keep up the good work!
I like that this series is savouring the content, rather than rushing.
Hallo Python, you could replace your movement accessories in the fishing loadout with wings later in hardmode, then add instead the 3 expert mode boss "defense" items: bone helm from deerclops, volatile gelatin from queen slime, and spore sac from plantera. that way, you would be able to fish more without worrying too much about the mobs. Also dont worry too much about the pace of the series. Cheers!
Parsec pals is a reference to Pedguin and Boba! They play Terraria during the jingle jam every year!
Ahhhhh, amazing! 😀
honey is another buff that's great for arenas! when you enter hardmode you can buy bubble blocks from the party girl. dump some honey in the middle of eight bubbles, and you can run right through and get the buff. additionally, drinking a flipper potion keeps the honey from slowing your movement as you pass through:)
I didn’t see this before I added mine but I had the exact same thought! You could also add small pockets of water after defeating Duke fishron and using the mount for extra movement speed.
The pre-hardmode is my favorite part of this series, it's honestly really fun to see how much can be done with a world rather than progressing, it sort of feels like the way Minecraft is played, with an emphasis on building up your world.
It's just a shame we don't have infinite worlds in Terraria otherwise the whole idea of "endless" Terraria series would really stick! 😀
If you wanted to make the most of your Pylons while still having access to all of the important things, one thing you could do is relocate your Jungle Pylon to the Surface and build a Teleporter setup there to get down to the shimmer, the Grand Design makes that kind of task really easy too. Similarly, you could do the same at your underworld base to link it to even the Dungeon if needed.
Python you need to place shadow candles in the arena to nullify the townspeople's effect on spawnrates , they are crafted with some demonite \ crimtane bars and torches in ecto mist!
Can they be toggled off? That way he can use them in tandem with the water/peace candles depending on the occasion.
@@gaelonhays1712yea they can
Ah yeah! I forgot those exist! Well reminded 😀
You should “light” a pillar for every hard mode boss!
Please take your time! I really enjoy the pace so far. There's so much to do in Terraria and all of it is fun, not just bosses. 💙
I always make my surface mushroom biomes at the dungeon, that way after killing Plantera you can just tp at the dungeon really fast. You don't need the Master Ninja Gear for every loadout, just its dash accessory... Also just use wings for the last accesory slots, you can kill I ce Golems for Ice Feathers, The Harpy Feather and Fire Feather are easier to get in 1.4.4, and eventually you can get the Hardmode Event Wings.
just judging from the thumbnail, that desert arena looks AWESOME!
Hi Python! I was thinking maybe you could start creating little fishing spots around the world for different biomes?
Welcome back Python, just a reminder: wings are accessories.
Also, maybe create a mushroom sky lake above the crimson? Then you can fish at that lake (a sky lake also count towards mushroom lake) and create a crimson lake right below it? One pylon for 3 fishing lakes + easy access to the dungeon, big win!
Or not, maybe mushroom sky lake above the desert lake close to the pyramid? That will give you easy access to 2 biome lakes for fishing
Quick building tip: brown-painted bamboo fences look amazing as "windows" in the desert!
I've enjoyed the pacing of this series. There's no need to rush. You're absolutely right, there's so many things that are better done in pre hardmode. Always happy to see when you post a new episode, but take you're time and make it what you want it to be. It's you're world!! Literally!! Make the content you want to make!!
I absolutely love the pacing of the series, I want something I can look forward every morning :)
I watch this series from the beginning and I really love the pacing. For me a new player its difficult with all the different stuff to do so this series helps a lot
I love the fact that pacing isn’t the focus. I’ve learned a lot about what’s even possible pre-hard mode, because I always rush it. It’s good to see someone who knows what they’re doing taking their time. But whatever else happens, I’mma keep watching. c:
I personally like a slower pace. I don't know Terraria that well and it let me see some more of the billions of things it has to offer.
Thanks Mr. Python
Hey Python,
I had slight concerns about building the arena in the desert biome, and I apologize for this comment being late. But sandstorms can happen which inflicts you with the Mighty Wind debuff, slightly hindering your mobility.
I say you should add a twisting dragon on the pillars in the arena. Experimenting with different background patterns would be an interesting challenge to take on. Love the content
Please take your time! I’m a beginner and this series is perfect for details and learning the game in a slow pace I appreciate it!
Hey Python! You should also consider getting the bubble wand to be able to add little pockets of honey and water for the future battles, when you get the Fishron mount for added movement and also extra healing!
How about building a classic Mushroom biome on the sky-island right above the Crimson so you have easy access to that area, including the Dungeon! Also loving the Long-term progress in this series, ULTIMATE PYTHON HAS BEEN ACHIEVED!!!
Pythonator, don't forget about the mole Minehart for your mining load out. It will dig through blocks and lay new track if carrying minecart tracks
It only digs when underground
It is sold by the Zoologist for 50 gold when the Bestiary is 35% completed
You could move the comment of the day signs over to the new arena? I can’t remember if signs can hang from platforms but you could fit tons of signs over there instead of having to hang them all over random spots of your base. Also, the pacing is great!! I love the prep-work before hardmode it makes so much sense.
Honestly I would love if you take even longer in pre-hardmode. Building and the other things are so much fun to watch. Keep having fun! Maybe even make a golf course. We have enough progression based things already.
Another thing you should do before Hardmode, Truffle Worm Farm, by where your mushroom Pylon goes, and I would also suggest making it by the biome by your box
when he finally enters hardmode hell be able to go through everything in 10 minutes XD
I would be willing to bet that most of the people that are saying to rush into hard mode don’t actually ever play master mode. They probably only play journey mode getting your world prepared for hard mode is always fun and entertaining making sure to cut areas to section off the corruption when it spreads, cutting borders around each one of your biomes that you like to keep here there’s a lot to do before you go at the hard
I think maybe finding a marble biome and making the arena look like a roman amphitheatre would be amazing for boss arena
If you put a large amount of stones above the arena, then you could use that as a canvas for evil biomes. Every time you need a specific biome for a boss or farming, you use the clentaminator with a different evilspray to turn it into that biome so you can use the top to spawn that boss or those monsters in! I'm not sure about this, but it might also be possible to actuate them so you don't bump into it.
That's a cool idea tbf, easy instant mob farm areas! 😀
Hey python, for your boss arena, maybe just like the bottom 2 or 3 layers you can have a variation of quarts/marble background walls with large window opening and leave the tops open with your eventual living fire torches up top might be a nice homage to like an old roman coliseum. And dont forget to add some nomes for some added luck.
Hey python for a change I think when you get into hard mode you should go for duke fishron before the mechs, I think you are at the skill level when you can take him. With dadelous stormbow or sanguine bats and cool whip it takes about 8/10 mins and early hard mode movement accessories are good enough to dodge him with a sufficient steam (I normally use frozen / fairy wings, terraspart boots a horseshoe balloon, Cthulhu shield, obsidian shield, charm of myths and then probably an emblem) I’m enjoying this series the slower pace at the benefit of quicker uploads is something we just couldn’t not love!
for an easy background on the arena that isn't in the way would be just plain glass wall, that way you can have walls there, but they are just see-through.
You pace in this series is perfectly fine. I truly enjoy just watching you play every aspect that the game has to offer, instead of solely concentrating on game progression. Continue doing what you are doing, I enjoy it well!
I think its a better idea if you dont build the custom mushroom near to your base, i still find the custom sky mushroom biome the best place, so that you can have easy access to sky. Also it benefits you for the eventual martian probes for martian madness event. Always love your vids! Keep it up!
hey python, another building idea for you: similar to your quest fish museum, you could do a armor room build. a space for it could be the interior of the giant tree next to your main base
Cheers!
Loving the series
Also excited for the next calamity series!
Me too! Very excited to check out the new update when it comes! 😀
Now that you have a pylon set up, you should move the dryad to your arena to buff you and debuff enemies. Maybe once you have every pylon, move the nurse there too for healing.
Also, are you planning to make the Grand Design and do any wiring?
Hey Python, i think you should make the mushroom pylon down in the biome next to your snow biome and the snow pylon on the surface. That way, u can have access to the underground snow and the surface snow. after all, you did say you wanted to have full coverage with your pylons!
I know that maybe a lot of people use it or not at all but maybe you can do a snow pylon build with stone bricks and ice brick walls ! Love the videos, I've learned alot
Hey, Python, I've been recently aware of your amazing channel! I'm loving the playthroughs! have you ever considered making a haunted house in a cemetery? the bones furniture + hardmode spider furniture and blocks would look amazing!
Welcome back from your break Python! For future playthroughs would you consider playing other modded Terraria other than Calamity. Ex. The Fargo's Soul Mod, or the Starlight River mod etc.
Nice arena, I like putting my boss arena over 100 blocks up above the desert.
Also it messes with my head that the right side of your arena isn't flatten out.😅
Love the videos Python! Thank you for providing them on a daily basis. The hard work is appreciated. As for the pacing requests, don't change a thing. Just ignore anyone who complains, you doing what you want, at the speed you want, creates and enjoyable experience for you, which comes thru in the videos and makes them all the better! Thx again!!!
Python, make sure you’ve got a bed in your arena too for the more aggressive events that way you can respawn right back in the action
Python, you should make a graveyard biome sometime soon on the sky island, It would be a cool build I think
Keep going at your pace python love the series. love watching you build and progress at a good pace 💙💙😊
With the Terra boots you run faster on Ice. I believe that also counts Ice platforms.
ayeee glad you're back!
Good episode you should try to figure out how to put flames in the torches on your arena 👍🏼
For your Mushroom biome house build, have you considered using the glowing mushroom furniture set to build it?
Hey Python, love the series so far. I am learning new things about terraria as i watch your videos. I have a suggestion, why not build a personal base, without npc's, just for yourself
It might be good to find some heart and star statues
buiding a boss arena in the dessert can be annoying since you might have a sandstorm and then it can be sort of awkward when fighting in it because you get moved around a lot from the sandstorm... and maybe for the mushroom pylon make a mushroom biome on the left side of the dessert and right before the jungle starts. this way you can use that pylon to use it for a easy acces to jungle and dessert. you can then save your dessert pylon for hardmode and purify some corruption dessert on the right side area next to the dungeon and turn that into ''normal'' dessert and use the dessert pylon there. this way you also have easy acces to the dungeon. You could also make a floating dessert island above the corruption on one of the islands above the dungeon and place the pylon there.
Have you heard of the Resplendent Dessert ? It’s a really cool item you can go for after Queen slime
I prefer this pacing cause if you do have any new people that want to play terraria they won't be speeding towards hard mode and struggling because of it better to be prepared than sorry and its a lot more fun :D
Going off your comment questing of the episode you could try doing a class play through in calamity.
Eventually perhaps! 😀
love the vids python
Hey Python! Maybe you could try to take on other major mods, such as Thorium and/or the Mod of Redemption. As exciting as the Calamity update is, I'd like to see you explore and expand your horizons! Hope you have a lovely day, and stay golden!
Love ur vids dude❤🎉
Holy cheese my comment made it in a video? 😮❤ Just finished the video now. But yuh that is basically what I meant? It's totally cool if you don't do it, I'm just happy you read my suggestion. 🤘
another python video :)
Gday python. Being that you have the axe of regrowth, you should definitely make a tree farm like the 1.2.4 days. A renewable source of all biome trees, love the vids from Australia 🇦🇺
That's a great idea! 😀
22:20 In regards to modded classes - such as Calamity's rogue, Thorium's thrower/bard classes (and healer...if you somehow found a way to make that work in singleplayer) - would you be down to do those as their own series?
stay in pre hard mode for ever!!!
I was thinking maybe build a mushrooms pylon close to dungeon?
I don't mind the pacing. But wouldnt it be better to have the npcs spaced further away from the arena?
Don’t make them rush uu bro ii love this pace&& it reduces burn outs..
how did you avoid fighting Skeletron before entering the dungeon?
Dont let the undeground desert become affected by any biomes such as the crimson, corruption and hallow. Since it´s extreamly hard and annoying to purify the undeground desert
Oh I'm well aware, certainly gonna be an interesting time trying to keep the evil at bay at the beginning of hardmode! 😅
Is the vampire frog staff worse then the imp staff?
Always a like if i could support more i would you make some good enjoyable content I've been watching for quite a few years and always tempt me to start playing again
🕺
I miss the ark survival evolved series
Too bad terraria doesn’t have vanilla raytracing like Minecraft bedrock or some other games, i know the lights and shadow mod is great and all, but just vanilla terraria with raytracing would be amazing
Wasn't the point of the series to take a long time? Do what you want python love the vids too
do NOT speed up!!!!
this is exactly what you should be doing... everything possible before hardmode.
Do not fill in the background walls otherwise mobs wont spawn cuz mobs dont spawn where there are player placed walls unless you place the cursed walls but yeah dont do that otherwis you made a farming arena for decor only. Also am sad you are going to speed things up its really a shame guess its gonna be annoying as the other series again where its all super fast :(
Python said that he’s going at his own pace and is not focused on progression. He’s not making any changes to the play through in regards to progression
