    Far left seat, back row = god seat on Apollo's chariot. It's definitely in my top 5 hypers for sure.

    My first ever ride on this was amazing, seen as it was during the finale of the fireworks show this summer. The light from the fireworks lit up the track in the dark, which made the whole ride insane.

      2. Mako
      1. Apollo

    It makes sense that Mako is the better hyper. After all, it’s newer, so the techniques that B&M first tried with Apollo were executed better. However, do not sleep on this one. I was at BGW last night, and this thing was ripping through its course. The first drop is stellar in the back, as well as the drop off of the mid-course (which did not slow me down when I was there) and the last drop before the brakes. Also, the originality score IMO should’ve been a ten. Even in the pantheon of all of B&Ms hypers, this one uses the terrain better than all the others. Plus, it has a straight out-and-back layout, compared to the L-shapes layouts on most other hypers, and a night ride on this thing is almost as good as Nitro and Diamondback’s.

    Agree. Re-rode it for the first time in 15+ years this year. It was my first hyper when I rode it back in 2000, but it may not be the best now. Still love the SHIT out of it though!

    Also, I have a quick question:
    Is there any chance I could use this footage in a video I’m working on? Its really great and just what I need. I will give you full credit and link this channel in the description.

    I've ridden 13 traditional hyper coasters, 17 if you're counting the 4 Gigas, and I would put Apollo's Chariot squarely in middle. It's way better than several such as Steel Force, Magnum XL and Mamba but not as good as others like Mako, Candymonium and Phantom's Revenge.

  • @alantrotter2077

    I've been on 7 B&M Hypers and I would place Apollo at #5. I think the setting is one of it's strengths. It is fun but it isn't anywhere near Candymonium, Diamondback, or Goliath (SFOG) in terms of the best B&M Hypers I've been on. I still need to ride Mako and Behemoth in North America. Good review!

    Not better than Mako certainly but I put it as an upper tier B&M hypercoaster. A few things about it that I think make it special:
    -The pre-drop really makes the first drop uncommonly good (though I haven't ridden Ranging Bull, but I still think Apollo's Chariot has of the best first drops from this model.)
    - The setting in the woods. Only Mako's setting over the lake is arguably as breathtaking as Apollo's Chariot's setting (though Diamondback at night feels fairly secluded.)
    - The color looks great
    - The variety of hills. Yes, it's a B&M hypercoaster but most of the time the hills get smaller and less interesting as the coaster goes on. Apollo's Chariot sort of keeps you guessing and stays interesting for the entire layout. Part of that comes from the setting because you often can't see the next hill and you also have small drops followed by big drops (the last one in particular.) I think Apollo's Chariot is just more interesting than most B&M hypercoasters.

  • @AirtimeProductions

    I think this ride is really comparable to Raging Bull so if you ever get to ride it I’d go in with the same expectations! Raging Bull has a good drop, another ejector moment, and the rest is floater- just like you said for Apollo’s Chariot

    • @scottyjbd
      @scottyjbd 3 года назад

      Just rode Raging Bull for the first time and wow does it’s trim-hill slap hard. Makes the next hill/turn and turnaround before the brake run incredibly boring. The mid-course was hitting hard too, easily the tamest B&M Hyper I’ve been on so far. If they would just let those a little loser, it would certainly be a solid ride that I would have nothing to complain about.

    I've not ridden it, but it is B&M's 1st hyper coaster which must've broken records for the total duration of airtime for a metal coaster when it opened. The only two B&M hypers I've ridden are Behemoth and Leviathan. My guess is that Behemoth is better and Leviathan... ...well Leviathan is to big to compare, and also, I preferred Behemoth to Leviathan. I think I'd prefer Behemoth to Apollo's Chariot, but it's possible I'd like Apollo's Chariot to Leviathan. I appreciate the trick hill and even more importantly: the nine car trains! However: while those trains increase throughput (and less importantly but technically have 9 ride experiences rather than eight), they're still not as long as the eight car staggered seating trains that Behemoth, Diamondback, Intimidator and Shambala have, so they don't provide as extreme differences from the front cars to the back cars.
    Apollo's Chariot may not B&M's best hyper but it's no slouch, especially considering it's B&M's 1st hyper coaster model that has a 210' drop with a trick hill and nine car trains. Thanks for posting!

    About the same for me. My 2018 rides seemed better than the 2021 rides, however, they have all been good. I feel that this has been one of the more consistently smooth B&M hypers, with only a hint of rattle, just like Candymonium, Mako, & most of my Nitro rides. Goliath & Diamondback give better airtime than Apollo, but those are sometimes very rattly.

  • @spentron1
    @spentron1 3 года назад +1

    I'm not sure other B&M hypers are better than Apollo's back row. Every other row, yeah. Anyway its special moment is the drop into the turnaround next to the water. It's banking and you're still out of your seat.

  • @kquttersanford3635
    @kquttersanford3635 3 года назад

    If you don’t feel like it has as much as airtime before that’s because you’re right. The new computer it has, the mid course and trims on the tight turns into some dip drops uses a lot more than usual. So it really slows down which really upsets me.

  • @adambuckler1398
    @adambuckler1398 3 года назад +1

    I have to disagree with you here. I was extremely disappointed by this ride. The first drop was great, the terrain setting in the woods is fun, and it gets really dark at night. But none of the hills, except the final bunny hill, gave me any airtime. And I got three rides in 95 degree weather with mostly full trains. On paper, this is a fantastic layout, but Apollo just did not deliver for me.
