WABAG Nemmeli Desalination Plant- From Sea to Sustainability

The Nemmeli Desalination Plant quenches the thirst of around 1 million South Chennaites. The flagship plant boasts of state of the art desalination technology coupled with pressure exchange mechanism that reduces the power consumption of the entire facility. The 100,000 m3/day plant was built on a DBO basis with an O&M period of 7 years. Furthermore WABAG did value engineering and process optimization by putting the high end Lamella Clarifier to add an additional capacity of 10,000 m3/day making the total production as 110,000 m3/day currently.
