@@vonclohk507 You weren’t “stupid” thinking they were ripping off another band. I’ve always felt all 3 albums were a bit too reminiscent of something else done by someone else that came before it without the credit for having done it.
@@vonclohk507 I’ve always felt Bleach was their Melvins/Mudhoney album, Nevermind was their Husker Du album, and In Utero was their Pixies album. Still do.
I was there with my band trying to pass out our demos to record execs. I don't remember this many ppl. I'd given Axl a tape and said they'd be playing but didn't think he'd show. I remember being up front with Axl moshing all over bumping into very few ppl that were there but in suits. I thought maybe they played a club and the convention??? I don't think I would have missed it if there were 2 as it was Soundgarden the 1st band I saw leaving LA in 87 and moving up to Seattle and worth staying there.
Tommy, I think Soundgarden was the 1st band out of the alternative era to be signed by a major record label , Then Alice in Chains were next. I hate that word GRUNGE! I grew up out there , went to HS in Wenatchee, class of 84' then Moved to ABerdeen Wash when I was 18, then Seattle area when I was 26. I saw a lot of these bands b4 they were famous. For those who were not around for the 90s, especially from 88-94, we have no idea what they missed. In every city in almost all the clubs, there was Rock n Roll/ punk music bands playing. Glam metal was in the way out, and musicians were not wearing spandex and eye liner!! Plug in and play loud original music!!! What a time to be alive. Best decade for ALL music. I know the 60s and 70s had good arena rock but the 90s was much deeper than rock and roll. Alt, country, hip hop,.
