I feel so lucky to have seen Freddie sing with Queen in my youth. Queen played in Toronto, and we saw them on 5 separate occasions. I still enjoy Queen, even though I am 68. Inside, still love some of the greats. Queen, The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Shania Twain, Linda Ronstadt, Simon and Garfunkel, so many others to list here. I encourage the younger generations to explore the fortunate talent that their parents enjoyed in the musical rock and roll of the 60's and 70's.
Roger is right, Freddie was not not only a multi faceted person, singer, performer. He could not only write music and lyrics, but sing the words and record multi harmony for all the tracks individually spot on for each other and in perfect pitch and time. Freddie was a genuine enigma and I’ve yet to see talent like he exhibited in anyone since. He was a true musical genius.
🎼🎵🎙🎹🎤🎸 Freddie Mercury's voice is like a type of MEDICINE to the EARS, & HEALING to the BONES ‼️ 1:07 On an interview, Peter Freestone, (Freddie's personal assistant for all those years,) mentioned (a few years ago,) he came upon the thought that (He > Peter,) realized the song might of actually been *ABOUT Mary,... compared to this song being TO Mary. I guess there's a difference maybe ? Is that true ? I forgot exactly which interview that was of Peter's, that he mentioned that thought, (because Peter has done many interviews over the years since Freddie's passing away.) Anyway, as if the song could be coming also from Mary's angle on how she felt with the heartbreak of Freddie ?... I don't know myself. It really could go both ways with the wording of the song.😢
I could see this being from Mary’s point of view. Freddie said it, Mick Rock said it, Mary was the love of his life. He loved her like he would or could never love a man. Freddie said that, not anyone else. People want to associate love with sex and sexuality, but they do not have to be exclusive of one another. Love is mental, it’s physical, it’s spiritual, it is felt at the very center of one’s heart and soul. Like Mick Rock once said, you took your life into your hands if you tried to come between Freddie and his Mary. The lovers and partners of Freddie often asked why he could not love them the way he loved Mary and he said it was simply impossible, she was the love of his life, and he didn’t need anyone else but Mary.
@blondiebluetx64 Yes, I agree with what you said in your comment. 🙂 I did see various ( a while back in the past, ) all those comments being made by Freddie himself, & others too, about Freddie, & Mary's strong, unique bond of love for each other. As a fan, you already know how Freddie even said referring to Mary: ✨️She is like his common law wife. We lived out our vows. My lovers always ask me, why they can't replace Mary? And I tell them it's simply impossible. Mary is my best friend, & my only real friend. That's all I need is Mary. You have to put up with alot with me, & I think Mary has been through just about it all.✨️ I Just wonder,... if Freddie's song came from mixtured, dual angles of heart wrenching heartbreak,... meaning from *both himself, & Mary's point of view simultaneously 💔 💔 I feel so. IF, I understood Peter Freestone's comment , it was just something he mentioned very briefly when someone asked him a question about something with the song, that Peter said he realized only just after all these years (referring to the '""TO "" ,... or, ""ABOUT"" of the song lyrics being about Freddie's feelings, or Mary's feelings. Yes, Mary was Freddie's true love, & vice versa. There wouldn't be anyone else this song would of been about,... except Freddie, & Mary. To use an analogy, in anyone's seeing of their unconditional love, & always bond,... in the best way, they were like each other's oxygen. Life without each other in it, would be suffocating otherwise. Kind Regards to you. Recently its been suggested by someone close to him - and I believe it myself - that Freddie wrote the song from Mary's point of view. It makes far more sense from the lyrics. He left her, not the other way round!
