    This sounds like the most back and fourth war that ever happened. At no time did it seem like either side had any advantage.

      I checked your main channel and it seems like you haven’t continued the English Civil War series. Is this correct? If so do you plan on continuing it sometime soon?

    As a west country bloke ive lived in Plymouth, Somerset and Bristol, I knew bits and pieces of the history but you connected everything together..splendid video thank you.

      thank you very much! I'm from the west country myself, and had no idea how significant Somerset in particular was to the course of the war

    Great vid Addaway! One gripe, (nothing important) in the storming of Bristol the screaming in the battle sound effects it sometimes drowned out your voice and was bit annoying, that was the only thing I could pick out. Completely solid work.

      Fair enough, I’ll try and make sure this isn’t a problem in the next video

    Great video mate. One small gripe, the Earl of Essex picture you used is the second Earl of Essex who got the chop from Lizzy. Not the 3rd Earl of Essex who fought in this war. Easy mistake to make though as they've both got the same name!

    On 2.41, I noticed that Exeter is in the middle of Devon on the map. Actually the location is wrong cos the city is actually near the coast north of present day Torbay.
    I have been to Exeter where I went to school as a kid formerly known as the Royal School for the Deaf now renamed the Royal Academy for the Deaf so I know where Exeter is.
    Somebody who made this video need a spacsaver! lol!

    Wow, I'm very surprised that the garrison commander surrendered. When your men are so eager to fight, it's unlikely you will lose!

    Very good it's a shame you abandoned the English Civil War theme, it was very interesting.

    I dunno if its really difficult to edit but while battles are raging could you add some kind of effect to the unit squares, maybe cracks, blood spilling or something, its kinda dull to see the same screen frozen for a few mins

    • @historigraphextra5461
      @historigraphextra5461  6 лет назад +3

      I would love to do things like this, but alas at the moment it’s beyond my abilities in after effects; I’m hoping that incrementally over time I can improve it

    • @ChestOfDoom
      @ChestOfDoom 6 лет назад +1

      well maybe you could have the boxes pushing and shoving as the battle rages, just a suggestion, cool vid tho

    2:37 isn‘t ist dangerous to just bypass enemy garrisons because they can attack your supplylines?

    • @MikeGreenwood51
      @MikeGreenwood51 2 года назад

      It was a family dispute. So if the other members (Opposition) is bigger and stronger than your family then avoiding them may be wiser especially if they are housed in an established garrison. Exerter had been a stong hold garrison since the 1st century when the Romans housed their army there.

    One thing I don't quite get is why did you colour the royalists red when it was the parliamentarian new model army that had venetian red uniforms?
