corrine moore Roland himself posted this song on his Soundcloud account few months ago. I posted this song here only just to share his wonderful music, so that everyone can hear it. (Music owned by Roland Orzabal)
From what I understand, this was originally sung by Roland. The album version, to be released next month, will be Curt on vocals. Roland said that he couldn't stay in the recording studio when Curt sang it. In another interview, he said that he can't listen to this song too much. Really hits home...
This is a new one from their forthcoming album, but not sure if it's the "final" version we'll hear on the album. Roland said, it's about his late wife, Caroline, who went through a period of massive depression and other issues, which resulted in a slow decline mentally and physically and led to her eventual death from natural, related causes in 2017.
I think it's badass from Roland sining this because he doesn't want to sing it now because it hurts too much to sing it and that he did it here is amazing, it takes a great power to do that! I really appreciate that! Fantastic job! And amazing that he doesn't hide it and talks about it and knows where the line stops!
This sounds like a Roland Orzabal solo effort, and a beautiful one at that. I still rank Tomcats as the best thing he has ever done and this is probably one of the most wonderful songs he has ever had a hand in making. Absolutely beautiful.
A Truly great singer song writer reflecting on his own personal tragedy! A beautiful lyric that speaks to a large audience out their! Thanks for sharing this very sad gem of a song! God bless you Rolland and May your future be bright! And your songwriting as glorious as ever!
This is True of TFF their sounds is so unique and Phenomenal that I keep their 🎵 in my rotation . This is sad but enlightened by his words. Thank you TFF
Fascinating to hear this early version with Roland singing lead, having grown to love the album version with Curt. Does anyone know why Curt ended up singing it? Not being critical by the way, I love both versions, it's a heartbreakingly beautiful song sung by either of them.
The song is about Rolands first wife he shared (nearly) his whole life with till she died on cancer. I have never heard such a heartbreaking story in a song like this ... and I totally can understand that he is not able to sing it without bursting into tears. When I heard it first on the album, my eyes watered instantly,
Was this his last song? It sounds like something he would have written for his wife before she passed away from cancer...as always his lyrics, music and voice made me cry; almost as if my mom was singing them to me from thousands of miles away.
He didn't want this shared anywhere. It was a personal song he wrote. Someone else shared it and he was upset about it. And yes it's on SoundCloud. This song is beautifully written.
I’ve heard that in the album, Curt is going to sing this one. But maybe with the deluxe or alternative edition of the album, we’ll probably get this one as well.
Very derivative . Sounds like Seeds of Love album. I wonder if Nicky Holland worked on this? RO needs to write with Holland again! those two wrote some glorious stuff.
Hi, the last time this song was posted to RUclips, Roland asked that it be removed. I don't think he'd be very happy knowing it is posted again. If a video gets posted for this song, it should be his creation. It's on SoundCloud because HE put it THERE.
@Zodiologist I see. Thanks for the explanation. And I don't blame the person who did cry, I cried inside because it's a tribute to his Caroline and yet, it's beautifully made and sung too.
Thanks for sharing.
Instantly recognized Roland's voice. Such a sad song though. Where did you find this?

In "The Tipping Point", the new album of Tears For Fears, there is a song called: "Please be happy".
New chapter`s finally opened.
Very pretty
About watching and living with someone with depression.
the BEST

It's about time they came back, considering Coldplay pretty much lifted a lot from them!
Well, it's on the album with Curt's voice and it's quite good.
He didn't want this shared anywhere. It was a personal song he wrote. Someone else shared it and he was upset about it. And yes it's on SoundCloud. This song is beautifully written.
Interesting, how do you know ?

Could this possibly have anything to do with the passing of Roland’s wife?
What what was the cause of Caroline's death? I read that it was natural causes. But I don't think she was old.

Yes it is about Caroline. According to Roland, she’s been sick for some time before she passed.
