    _You must be one of the new conscripts from Strittus. How do I know? You look greener than spider ****. Listen, no one needs a degree in Arcane Arts to see half a forest is missing with an Everstone at the center. Now I’ve got Throne Watchers and those ****ing southern rangers taking over investigations. If it was up to me there would be legions sent to every corner of the world to tear down those towers._

    Woo hoo! I own a tavern! The best place to hear the most interesting stories!
    Hopefully I haven't said this trivia before, but the reason most buildings were at least two stories tall in the Medieval era is that the second floor was the actual living space and the ground floor was the business (a tavern in this case). This extended to free farmers, who's ground floor was a mixture of entrance hall/porch, storage area, and (winter) barn. Villains/serfs tended to not build big enough houses to pull that trick off, so they just had to deal with Bessy lowing right next to them at night. lol
    And I love the way you ended this episode. You forget how cool things look from the ground as compared to a bird's eye view.

      I'm a sucker for cinematic shots. Taking screenshots for thumbnails has become one of my favorite things in this series. Of the 7 episodes published there are about another 20 pictures I didn't use for thumbnails. The ground level is important as that's what the player would see. Also part of why I started this episode as a PC.

      Additionally, there were often many overhangs (more common in Tudor style homes) as land purchase/tax only included the ground floor's area.

      That is even more of a complement than you may realize. It's great to hear people are really enjoying this series. I do my best to release one video a week, but sometimes life is life. As long as I'm having fun and can fit it into one of my days, I will gladly keep it going. Cheers!

    You don't have to build this region yet. But i think a big city region, like only city could be nice. With some parks maybe but one big city

    • @ThatOnePlaythrough
      @ThatOnePlaythrough  3 года назад +11

      That is definitely a future plan. Been looking at other regions to decide which looks to have the best economic and strategic position. I want it's location to be "logical" even if the design is "fantastic"

    So a couple little tips and tricks and such
    - Players/NPC's can walk through basically all scenery, except walls. So if you want to funnel people into an area. you can be cheeky and build a small wooden fence, then cover it with rocks or other things to hide it away, and make your own kind of walls.
    - Players don't exclusively follow paths, but it generally is used to guide em around. - If you have more fluff i feel like it changes how they move around the world, they use less paths
    - You can hide the modular buildings inside scenery objects as well and sort of cheat players going to an area, make a small 1 block modular building and hide it. (The thorny area in the start is a great example if you want people to come back later from a higher level zone.)
    - Making a test world outside of this in sandbox mode and just playing around with things outside of the series can help a lot as well to discover other little things things you can do, like experimenting with how quests chain without ruining what you have going on here.
    - I know you said in an earlier episode you don't want to cheese leveling up the game when you hit the X.X.100 versions to get more stat points, but it goes up by 1 extra every time. So like 1.1.100 was the first level... 2.2.100 > 3.0.0 / 3.3.100 > 4.0.0 /4.4.100 > 5.0.0, etc etc so it takes more and more the higher it goes. so bumping up once you hit the x.x.100 isn't the worst thing in the world.
    There's probably more things i can think of but all in all, was watching some other playthroughs of this and stumbled across this one, probably my favourite so far cause of how much world detail you're putting in to it, reminds me of how i play it myself :D - Keep up the amazing work~!
    (#8 Came out as I was writing this so idk if anything is addressed in that, but yeah :D)

    • @ThatOnePlaythrough
      @ThatOnePlaythrough  3 года назад +1

      You make some great points, and I do have another "test kitchen" game where I mess around with things. Hiding walls inside scenery to prevent wandering sounds like it may be useful. #8 just kind of goes back into ground floor zone building with a brand new area.
      Edit: spelling

    This convinced me to get back into playing this game again. Definitely love the game.
    But man I wish I had your patience with decorating. Your town and lore are amazing. I’ve got mine centered around a theme of fighting the undead but I can’t expand it far enough for 20 level zones lol. I will say your game lore has me super fascinated. Everstones causing destruction, NPCs unsure as to why, various factions moving to action… it sounds like a really cool MMO! Just needs an Arcane Knight class and I’d definitely buy a sub to this game!

    • @ThatOnePlaythrough
      @ThatOnePlaythrough  2 года назад +2

      It's not a player class but the Throne Watchers will be up your alley then.

  • @bobjhon7391
    @bobjhon7391 Год назад +1

    To fix the inn problem you could probably have the start of each area send you to a new inn. So starters are all in the coastal in but once they get past the commander and start the baron they stay in the servants quarters then when they go to the spire they stay at the inn over there.
    This still has the problem of the last inn filling and the only solution would be multiple objectives so it’s “stay at an inn neat here” but idk if that is possible without mods .

    Great, Brightwood is completed and the MMO thrives, might want to hire some more game devs though, bugs are starting to pop up more frequently, Or maybe its because you changing and adding more quest and players thinking its a bug?

    you spelled bandit wrong. and also left the last quest giver by the skeletons as find me a moldy plum. so good luck with that. but you should really proofread your quest titles better in future episodes so you don't have players wondering why they are bringing people moldy fruit as part of a storyline in this game...lol as funny as that would be.
