- Welcome to Part 2 of our 'Dumpster to Dyno: Resurrecting a Rusted Cummins 12 Valve' series! In this episode, we're taking you on a behind-the-scenes tour of Industrial Injection's machine shop in Richfield, Utah.
Join Scott as he rolls up his sleeves and dives deep into the world of engine restoration. Guided by our experts Dustin and Bryton, Scott steps out of his comfort zone and gets his hands dirty, learning the ins and outs of tear down, clean up, inspection, glass bead blasting, and magnafluxing.
Experience the thrill as we revisit the dumpster where Merlin @MerlinsOldSchoolGarage unearthed the rusted engine block a year ago. Watch as we discover that most of the connecting rods from the D2D block are beyond salvation - a setback, but not a defeat.
This episode is packed with knowledge, surprises, and hands-on action. You'll see the transformation of our salvaged engine parts from rusty relics to cleaned and inspected components ready for the next stage of machining.
Will Scott manage to keep up with the pace? Can he handle the intricacies of this complex process? Tune in to find out!
Watch along as Dustin and Bryton guide Scott through this journey, teaching him the valuable skills required to resurrect an old engine. This is Dumpster to Dyno - where we turn trash into treasure. The adventure continues!
Excellent information on how Industrial Injection builds bullet proof engines.
Thanks for the showing us your processes.

Red injector was hiding ontop of the machine behind yall @ the 22:26 mark..
Yall did an excellent job so far with the dumpster block thanks to Merlin doing some dumpster diving an having the solution to getting those stuck rusted pistons out of the block. Luckily he was right an it was a good block to use beside those few connecting rods that luckily yall had some stashed away & same thing with having that good dumpster head yall had for this build.. Cant wait for the rest of the videos on this build.. Keep up the great work yall @ Industrial injection..
Ps only edited the spelling of yalls name bc of my phones stupid autocorrect bs..

Nice walk through, I'm assuming it cost at least double to help with your engine to go through the process 😂
I hope after you successfully rebuild this engine you go back and rebuild that beat up dumpster.
I’ve learned a ton. Thanks for sharing!
Nice work. Make it look easy
At 22.26 it's up on top of the machine behind you guy's
Well 1:15 is the first appearance with a second chance at 22:26. Great walkthrough of what you do to make sure things are good to go. Keep it up
