Thank you so much for posting this. This is the first time I have actually seen this transmission shifted manual. I was hoping it had that capability but I wasn't sure.
I have an '06 300c srt8 and it's basically the same as the magnum under the skin. I agree, there's a LOT of lag with the transmission at take-off -but once that car gets movin', it's hard to beat.
davenhla I think she just means paddle shifters to operate the automatic. so instead of reaching down to change left to right, you just press the right paddle to go up and left paddle ....
@davenhla haha dude that was harsh. She is right, having a weak transmission is no fun. If it shifts like a Mercedes E-Class (luxury car obviously) then the V8 is so much less exciting....
paddle shifters were only on lambos and ferraris in 2006....as far as the m5 and e63 were the first "normal" cars to have paddles and they were both 90,000$
