Ive got an old Columbia Shell/rain jacket I bought of eBay for £16 2nd hand, its the best Jacket Ive ever worn, Its water proof, has internal drop and zippered pockets, external zippered pockets with rain flaps - I Love it and I will definitely be getting one of these, I love bright colours, and purely on the quality and practicality of the 2nd Hand Jacket I bought! Im loving your channel too Abbie!
I have a vest version of this jacket (in blue) I wear to fill the space in the torso area under my Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer 2. Works beautifully when it's below freezing!
As a walker, I've found that the simple act of stopping the wind preserves all the heat that I need. The cheapest, lightest and best bit of kit I own is the original, 20 year old, £30, Montane Featherlite Smock. Perhaps puffer jackets are more for camp wear - lighter and more compact than a fleece? And yeah, if I was in a position where I really needed that level of insulation, I'd be paranoid about it getting wet, so I'd go synthetic.
I've had a Carhartt jacket for a while and today I got to try a jacket like this one and man how much more comfortable compare to my carthart pretty crazy! I just ordered me this one but in black!
Nice jacket review! So many outdoor jacket makers put the pockets right where the hip belt fastens around you making the pockets difficult if not impossible to use when backpacking. I prefer higher hand pockets.
hi Abbie good review of what looks like a good jacket I'm sure I saw you on the Stornoway to Ullapool ferry end of September and was hoping for a video of lewis 😊 or you might just have a double 👍
It certainly looks warm.. yes, i was thinking when you get into a heated hike, it could be very warm!😄 Also, sometimes when the sun comes out and hits my Rab down coat, its turns into a heat machine.. thanks for the video 🥾
Thanks for this. I'm in the market for an upgrade in the puffy jacket section and this video helped immensely. In April I'll be hiking/fastpacking in Nepal, would you think this is a good jacket to wear at the end of day?
As a bigger girl, I really wish these outdoor companies would make some gear in larger sizes. I've slowly been getting myself into hiking. In time, I'd like to be doing longer overnight trips, and having proper gear that fits well would be nice. Columbia does do some plus size stuff, but still doesn't quite fit me. I'm down about 100lb now, prob need to drop another 30 to be fitting into their stuff.

I love Columbia merchandise. I have two of their rain jackets and four pairs of their Vitesse hiking shoes.

I use the Rab Infinity and I've found it very good including a well-designed hood.
I second that I also have a Rab Batura it's excellent 👌🏻
They specify it is goose down
I really want you to visit Sahara desert plzzzzzzzz
Any chance you could do some breathing exercises lessons soon?
