Enjoyed this as a kid. A real attempt of a cartoon adaptation without any sort of concession of the original characters. And of course the comical foolishness that made the Flintstones funny for kids and humorous for adults.
@@Mio248 Yeah, it's no more awkward than the cartoon honestly, and I'm glad unlike most "modern adaptations," they tried to keep it a family comedy (even had actual sitcom writers work on it, to give it that feel of a TV sitcom) with some occasional cartoony jokes. (Like the dinosaurs remarks.)
@@professorchaos5058I don't understand the demonization/accusation of potential customers strategy. It never works, and turns most customers off. So here's what I don't get... that whole aptitude test was designed to pick the "fall guy" for Cliff's scheme. Why would he choose the smartest employee for that role and not the dumbest? A smart, sharp employee would have seen through his scam. In that way, the plot would have made a lot more sense if Barney didn't switch the tests and Fred just got picked because he WAS the dumbest and most likely to be swindled and manipulated. Been awhile since I saw this in its entirety though.
The test was a plot device to make Barney feel jealous and resentful towards Fred when he got rich and successful thanks to him. Other than that it doesn't make much sense
@@davidmartinez3272 you're right but they still could have done that plot device if Fred was picked for being dumb. The point is he would still be picked as if he were smart.
I think the only way this would make sense is if the aptitude test was just a legitimate test to promote someone... if Barney got the job like he was meant to, nothing would have happened. But when Cliff found out it was Flintstone, that's when he decided to go through with his plan, which I'm assuming was just always on the backburner.
