"I should have signed with Disney. They never would've allowed this sort of thing to happen." You'd be surprised of the direction that Disney has taken since then. I've seen many films with similar situations that were released from Walt Disney Pictures. I wouldn't know where to start and where to end exactly, but it's true.
I genuinely loved this movie as a kid, really I loved the Flintstones in general BC I used to catch it and the Jetsons on Boomerang in the early 2000s but man.. This movie in particular was so fun.
3:18 This is what I loved about this film, for what's essentially a kids film there was so much in there for the adults to enjoy. All around fantastic movie for any age.
I was stumped for a minute, then I remembered Kyle MacLachlan portrayed him in the 80's version of Dune, which one do you think is better. Kyle MacLachlan, Alec Newman or Timothée Chalamet.
I wish I had known this as a kid. John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Halley Berry, Rosie O'Donnel, Liz Taylor, Kyle McLachlin, Richard Moll, Dann Florek, Elizabeth Perkins, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jay Leno, the BC-52s, as well as cameos from both Hana AND Barberra... man, seeing everyone play off each other would have been a hoot in the 90s.
I remember watching this as a kid not putting a face or name to Vandercave's actor. Watching it now and realizing it is Kyle MacLachlan who plays the role of Dale Cooper hits differently to me.
@partydowntown That's true since the machine getting destroyed with cement coming out and falling on Cliff gave Fred the job promotion which he refused but could have accepted and allowed Barney to take his job as Vice President Of Industrial Precurement since Barney was kind enough to switch tests with Fred so Fred could get the job.

Years Later I would also see "The Flintstone in I Yabba Dabba Doo" and Pebbles and Bam-Bam would get Married! Even William Hanna and Joseph Barbera make a Cameo in the End of the Movie as a Cartoon! Probably their Last Appearance before Both Co-Founders Passed Away!
God, I miss 90s filmmaking. Even films I don't care for like this or mario bros had such amazing set design. They took these nonsensical worlds and made them feel real. Today this would be a bunch of lifeless photrealistic CGI and people would forget the film in a week.
So this just shows that fred didn't actually save the kids, Barney got them off after Fred destroyed the machine....had Barney not gotten the kids first they would have been killed by fred destroying the machine....sheesh.
You see vandercave will be broken free from his cement prison and would soon take his position as vault tec executive assistant and soon to be overseer in vault 33 in a post nuclear wasteland.

Truly underrated. while it may have flunked the boxoffice they did an amazing job with this movie >< brings back quite a few memories
Say what you will about the quality of the movie itself, but it had some of the best casting in a movie ever.
honestly consideriinig the number of these 3 i wouldnt have thought it floppedd
It wasn’t a flop. It made $341 million on a $46 million budget. That’s over seven times its budget.

Classic Flintstones 😂
The scenery and aesthetic of this movie is so pleasing to the eyes.

Trust me, Mr. Bird. You don't want to go to Disney. They're not what they used to be.

Disney so would have done this these days.
