omg HANS defense tho. She can make all her opponents so tired by hitting all hard all the time and make people think that shes just playing basic ping pong. SHESso good what the hell.
I came here to see Miu, but man oh man is Han a return-machine. She has some of the most precise and creative chops I've ever seen. And Hirano, for someone who comes off as uber-calm, meek, and gentle, has lightning-fast reflexes, and aggression, that seemingly comes out of nowhere. And retreats just as quickly. Fun match to watch.
Hirano had beaten Han 4-0, beaten Ishikwa and almost beaten Chen Xing-tong in Bulgaria just few months ago; then lost to Ishikawa in Canada and therefore a single spot in Toyko Olympics; now lost to Han, need refreshing her mind and skill badly.
Han Ying had some really good saves. Im impressed with how well she fared against such an agressive style. Im not knowlegeable about TT so can someone explain what Hirano's tactic is other than just hitting as hard as she can?
Shorter and softer loops from hirano were actually also a tactic as they are meant to induce errors for the defender. Also in comparison to some other attackers, hirano tries to take the ball early to reduce time for the oppone t but that works better against other attackers and not so much defenders But generally as an attacker the equipment and skillset will support aggression over defence... Switching to defence is not really an option for attackers. Also yeah unless you are quite familiar with the game, most players who play the mainstream attacking style are going to look pretty similar. If you want to see how defenders are out of meta, watch the male players because based on the amount of power they can generate, it's much easier for male attackers to overpower defenders.
There are two types of loops versus choppers, spin loops, and sort of smash loop kills (?). I'm not quite sure how to explain it. Generally you try and vary the amount of spin and placement of your spin loops until you get a higher return, which you need to try and smash loop kill.
exciting match. unbelievable episodes with visual tactics and techniques. all of them thanks to the new DHS balls, which are a little lightweight and fly litle slower than some other heavyweight balls. now until the new applying for new lighter weight of balls, these DHS 40+ balls now are best balls for exciting table tennis gameshows. I do not say that these DHS 40+ balls are better quality than other balls. But these DHS balls are more closer to necessary standard lighter weight of ball. So these DHS balls boost beautiful gameshow. If this match used stupid heavyweight Nittaku balls, then there are less beautiful episodes, and Miu Hirano can win most episodes after some hits.
Hirano was ill advised to use Ito vs Sato strategy. Hirano is no striker like Ito. Her spins don’t carry enough weight and speed. Hirano should have watched Ding Ning’s 2019 match against Ying before playing. She would have seen the really super smart Ning doing 80% short pushes and biding her time before striking. Short pushes negate the merits of a back spinner game. It becomes a long exchange until there is a strikable ball. Instead she tried to play like Gu Yuting who crushed Ying in 2019 but she’s too short for that long amplitude game. Mittelham had better luck but she hits the ball a lot faster and harder. Anyway, Mittelham and Gu Yuting arms are twice as long. Yu Fu, a pen holder, used a lot of short pushes with back spin and that too worked. Pesotska Margarita used a similar strategy.
Can someone tell me why does women tend not to use backhand shots agaist backspin balls unlike men players? We can see men players really rarely use backhand push.
Only a guess but that's a grueling shot that can take a lot of strength to pull off. I assume you mean a backhand loop against heavy backspin? Men might be more apt to incorporate it into their chopper-battle strategy. When it's done over and over throughout the match it might sap that energy reserve needed for the home stretch. And chops are generally slow moving balls that easily give the time needed to run around for the power forehand. For most, that's the goal - to achieve that power position. Rarely use backhand pushes? Gotta disagree there
Typically in female chopper vs chopper games, a common tactic is for both choppers to play passively initially, pushing back and forth, usually meaning that they're nowhere near the end of the first game after ten minutes. This activates the expedite system, where they alternate serves every point and the server has to end the rally before 13 returns. This is now the showdown of attacking skills between the two players. The reason they don't attack as much at the start is to not let their opponent get used to their attacks for the later game to work more effectively. Of course, there are choppers who are comfortable enough with their attacks that they start attacking off the bat (think Pavlovich Viktoria when playing Kim Kyung Ah).
Second ITO like the match, but Hirano's attacking was not as sharp as Ito, so lost. I am sure Hirano got experience n should see tape HOW Ito handled chopper! USA
Though han is very gud.. she cudnt fight wid m.ito as her forehand is super strong n blazing fast .. she wont give chance to this much of rally even... finish it off in one shot..
It was driving me mad when she didn't try to attack some of the balls that were looped softly back. I like watching choppers as a change of pace but I prefer watching those that attack opportunistically when given the chance. Han attacked maybe 2 times the entire match?
One of the best match between Chopper and attacker I've ever seen!
Both players played truly amazing!
Unbelievably good match! The last game is sensational. Very good chopping from Han Ying, steady and spinny
Unbelievable performance from both lady. Amazing defense from Han ying and outstanding forehand topspin from Hirano.
Maaaaan that was so INTENSE!!! Congrats to both Hirano and Han!! Amazing match!! 👏👏👏
One of the best matches I've ever seen!
Amazing winning point
Unbelievable defense quality of Han.
And in my opinion she can increase her winning chances by more often uses her surprising kill shots.
I love the match!!The war of fire and water
Miu played so so well but Han Ying was even better! Congrats !
13:54 Hirano's footwork was fantastic even though she lost the point
Han Ying's is better
Hirano has always had brilliant technique, be it her footwork or shots. She just lacks power because of her build.
That’s true. Unbelievable forehand skill and footwork
@@leexster power comes from the mind 🤔
Agreed. And you can actually see it. Whereas with Mima Ito, sometimes I have to slow down the playback speed to see what happened
Love Miu. Hate to see her lose.Waiting for her to get her earlier winning form back. I still believe she can do it.
omg HANS defense tho. She can make all her opponents so tired by hitting all hard all the time and make people think that shes just playing basic ping pong. SHESso good what the hell.
What a fight. Good game on both side, from what I see they are =. Thanks for uploading.

It feels like I'm watching tennis instead of table tennis. Fantastic game!
The match point was amazing
13:53. this point could destroy normal people mentally.
I am dead just by watching it
Choppers have always been amazing!!!
OMG! I am watching it with amazement! I wonder what actually makes Han Ying's back hand rubber? My goodness, so sticky.
currently the best female chopper
not really, sato hitomi, liu fei are seriously better..hang ying just persistant.sato simply outstanding
@@24ghosh24 yeah they are all superb but I love the variety Han has from her short pips and the smooth movement
@@benjaminlhp478 i just feel she should attack a little.. right now toi one dinensional game ..i love all choppers since i m one.

She mostly was alternating between wide backhand and middle with changes of pace and spin.

What if two choppers play each other?
I am going to Google it now ,a very good question, cheers
There was one, just search on RUclips. One point lasts for several minutes and over 100 rallies. Both choppers were playing very passively . . .
Used to be a lot of pushing rallies but now they try and attack first
