- This is a demonstration video on the Burwen Research / KLH TNE7000a transient noise eliminator. This unit removes pops en scratches from the audio stream coming from the turntable.
Thanks
Is it my imagination or is there a drop in "air" and treble when the 7000a unit is engaged? Thanks for posting. Really interesting technology.
There shouldn't be any drop on treble or "air" when using the controls correctly (=moderately). What this unit basically does is look for very sharp transients in the audio (such as a scratch in a record) and then mute the audio for a (few ) milliseconds so that the scratch is not audible. If there are no sharp transients detected, than the audio stream is passed without any processing. You can get audible artifacts and a reduction of the very high frequencies if you set the controls very high. The high audio frequencies are then starting to get 'detected' as if they were 'scratches', and you can get audible artifacts. If you don't have one of these units, I can recommend getting one. They work really quite well.
@@ralphlauwaert2245 Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm seriously considering getting one. They are pretty expensive so I'm doing my homework.
@labnine3362 don't know if you ever bought one, but I can offer this. I've been using one since the mid 80s, along with the other static/white noise one they offer. It works awesome for recording it onto a second source (like a tape or cd)
@@chriscook5613 I did end up buying one and it is pretty amazing technology.
Say, I need an owner's manual for this device. Any help appreciated. God bless. Ed
Hi Ed, I have the user and service manual available. I can send you the files or a link to the files. Do you have an email address I can send it to?
@@ralphlauwaert2245 Hi ralph, would it be possible to have a scan of the manual? Thanks

@@ralphlauwaert2245 Thank you 😁. Could you tell me how you made the connections with the turntable?
