Moisturizer first, wait for it to go in, then plenty of sunscreen. Thats for ny face. For my neck and arms I use a moisturizer with sunscreen cream combo.

I think it depends on if your sunscreen is chemical or not. Chemical sunscreens should go on before moisturizer so they can soak into skin; at least that’s what I was taught. Physical sunscreens can be applied after moisturizer.

I’m graduating Med school, and the dermatologists I’ve worked with recommended chem sunscreen after moisturizer as well. Doesn’t seem to be a dispute in my experience, but feel free to list a dermatologist if you’ve seen otherwise. Moisturizers are supposed to be used soon after washing the skin to trap the water in and prevent trans epidermal water loss. Sunscreen is applied as the last skincare step, wait 20 min for it form an even protective barrier on the skin, and *reapplied* on top throughout the day. You could use the chem sunscreen as a moisturizer in itself, but it just doesn’t logically make sense to add a regular moisturizer after that.

Colorscience also recommends chemical sunscreen first though they generally cite derms without mentioning names. I found another article from the derm from Texas Cancer center. I’ll come back and edit this later.

Hi Dr. V, does the application process differ if we are using chemical or mineral sunscreen? I read somewhere that if you are using mineral sunscreen then it is moisturizer followed by sunscreen. But if it is a chemical sunscreen, then that should be applied first before applying the moisturizer, as moisturizer will not allow the sunscreen to seep into the skin. So confused :(
My previous dermatologist recommended jojoba oil as a non comedogenic oil and it works for me wonderfully. But can I use it under my chemical sunscreen? This is something I could not ask her. Hello doc, I have got acne since 6 months. I started using adaplene 0.1% at night derivate of vitamin A or a retinoid. Although my skin has improved a lot. But I feel my skin is sagging near the cheeks and has got open pores. I used it on the alternate days along with a lot of moisturizer followed by Cetaphil face wash and moisturiser and sunscreen in the morning. Please guide me what can I do or the products I can use which will tighten my skin and for acnes.
I’m not any seeing results with the Antioxidant Power Serum🥲..When will I see results. Shall I continue using it daily? Is it subtle with low %? Will it takes 6 months?🥲 Loving the collagen tho💥. Thanks

I think it depends on if your sunscreen is chemical or not. Chemical sunscreens should go on before moisturizer so they can soak into skin; at least that’s what I was taught. Physical sunscreens can be applied after moisturizer.

Maybe u got fungal acne or seborrhic dermatitis
Try salicylic acid by the ordinary. I apply this in the night. It helped me

Try glycolic acid. Do not use this on the face though
